I say we keep this simple. No need to postpone the races.

Since people were disconnecting left and right today, which caused us to delay our race to tomorrow initially, we decided to just do a half-distance practice race with cautions and the light cycle and everything.

I won this race so I should get full points for both D1 and D2 thus declaring me overlord of the Miatas.

Expect no pity naves.

You could say we were lucky for GT4 but I swear that room was not letting me hit a 35 at all. My fastest lap was a 36 and quite a few people hit low 35s. My FPS also wasn't good and like last week's tyre noise problems, a strange wind noise replaced a tyre squeel noise which was really noticeable when I slid a couple of times.

My game has been locking up often when I'm trying to exit a room too.

So what time is D1 today?

I have a running hypothesis that tire noise issues are due to some sort of cache corruption. I've reconnected to lounges and had the tire sounds still messed up but I've not had a time where I dropped out of a lounge, cleared the cache, then reconnected where the tire noise didn't come back.

^^^ I like that idea, I finished second :sly:

I was in 2 SPEC rooms, I normally can keep pace (raced them all before many times), not today. I have been feeling like trash all weekend (allergies) so I just blamed it on that. Not sure but in that one room I couldn't even say at the pack of the pack.

Getting a few laps in...

Are we now saying that the division 2 qualifying deadline has been cut back? Looks like only 30 minutes until maintenance is scheduled to begin and I'm not going to be able to qualify by then. I had planned on doing mine around 5pm est today, however that looks unlikely now.

Please can we get some clarification on this?

Watch the NASCAR race today. You will see what they think about staying in the lines.Hey turbo aren't you from arizona?lol

Because this maintenance mainly effects the D2 drivers, I will allow you guys to get your qualifying runs in through the week and leading up to the normal cut-off time next Sunday.

Doesn't mean anything. They only have an "out of bounds" rule at two tracks on the schedule. Phoenix is not one of them.

I'm living here, not from here.

Just for the record, had I know this maintenance was going to happen, I would have never Q'ed so early in the week. Now those who haven't have the advantage of extra time. Doesn't seem fair, IMO, but I don't really blame anyone for that.

(except, Sony) 👎

Maybe best to clear the boards and start fresh.

Maybe let those that want to keep their times to do so.

I don't think any new qualifiers past the Q deadline can out qualify someone who qualified before the deadline. Atleast thats what I thought was happening ....

I would love to clear my two dirty qual laps and get a new try :D

But I do not think it would be right. RL races also get postponed, usually because of weather, from what I know of it does not mean that qualifiers are re-run.

Works for me. People are going to complain either way, so that's the best compromise in my eyes.

I like 👍 this way those who did their qualifying on time get two chances to hit their preferred quali time :)

I'm still in a room with Wardez and haven't been booted yet! ;o

Is he there? That room was up all day yesterday. LoL figured he left and forgot to close the room.

Also 30 mins till maintenance scheduled to start.

Oh, it's 4:00. Thought it was 3:00. :(

And no, he's not really there.

I was not complaining. I was just making an observation. :sly:

The way I see it, if you messed up, then it's an easy choice. If you put up a good time, it's a risk that requires careful consideration.

Not sure I'll re-do mine, that is unless the adjustment I made yesterday really did make 12s easier for me.

I completely agree however now you have the opportunity to sit on your current time and see if anyone can beat it. If they do then you get to decide whether or not its worth the risk trying to beat it. :)

So, we can rerun the Q session if we feel we can improve, if we don't we will have to deal with the slower, (new) time?

Yeah I'll go with whatever tubro says but I'm probably gona lose out of it if qualifying is run again this week. As I'm 3rd place and being realistic I can only really hope to get 2nd place (unless I get some of what biffy was on yesturday :P) but my teammate is currently in 2nd. So people like me who feel they got in the best position they could have, may end up losing out.

Good question, and here's what we'll do:

If you want to re-run your qualifying run, you can do so. However, it will effectively erase your first attempt no matter what happens. So choose wisely. :)

Sounds good, I have a tune that I was working on and it seems to sector for 12s :D (T1, and T3, it hated T2), I didn't have time to try it in a draft or fix the dampers for T2 before the race so I would like to Q with the new tune.

So even though I'm on PSN right now, I'm assuming nobody else can get in?

Working or not, I'm not taking the chance we'll have issues or Sony will decide to kick people off in the middle of the race(s). Just going to wait a week.

And I might be shortening the championship by a race or two. I'll make this decision this week.
