mid race I think around lap 20ish the headlights came on maybe later, cause of all the SC I pitted at weird times but think I was doing 1'15-1'16 towards the end.

Some questions for the D1 racers. At around what lap did the headlights came on, and what were the lap times at the end of your respective stints?

This might change as I am changing the time change setting from 3 (D1) to 2 for the D2 race.

My lights, about lap 22. My times at the end of my stints were mid-high 1'17s, but keep in mind I'm one of the slower guys (quali in the 1'15s).

I'd rather not, no.

I just got some profile messages AND a private message from a new member who is asking me to make logos for him, but all his messages are in French. Like I know how to read it...

Looks like he wants logos and is offering you chromeline/stealth codes for it, from the French I know.

Yeah, point is this forum requires you to use English. That includes PM's and profile messages. So if he can message in English I'll consider helping.

Hopefully I can make it. I got a late minute chance to make some OT by shuttling guests from the hotel to the NASCAR race. I may make it back in time I may not... I'll start from the back if room.

You can forward the messages to me if you want, i'll translate and send you back ;)

The tires wear slower at night so you can pit early (lap 16) and be just fine.

Sounds like you haven't watched the replay.
From what I saw the tires are fast for 15 laps, good til 20, usable til ~25 but once you're dropping into the high 1'15s they fall off a cliff and become a huge liability.
90% of the track is between 100-145mph and every drop in cornering speed hurts massively on the time sheet. Two 15L stints will be faster than one 30 as long as you can stay steady in the high-12 low-13 pace.

This is the only week I'll do this, I couldn't pass up eight hours at $40/hr, especially since I got paid to watch the last 50 laps of the race.

Grid Positions

Notes for Murray Valley Speedway | Race #3
  • Please be mindful of cars around you while entering and exiting the front straightaway. Pit road entrance and exit is tricky here.
  • This race will end at Night. If you have trouble seeing the track while it is dark, I highly advise you to raise the brightness setting of the game (+1.0) before you start the race.
  • Be careful of the invisible wall that sticks out exiting the last corner!
Grid Procedure for Murray Valley Speedway | Race #3

  • Pole position is to line up on the right side of the front straightaway, just behind the mobile light generator.
  • The rest of the field will line up like normal, with the front of your car no further forward than the rear of the car ahead of you.
  • Please enter the track in order called, and DO NOT pass the car ahead of you, or the Start/Finish line.

Here we go again with these stupid connection issues.

Getting not compatible with room host just like Friday

Still missing quite a few people. If you are supposed to race tonight, please be in the room in the next 15 minutes.

Edit: Missing Alien and Naptown.

Did exactly as I wanted in that race, just finish lol. First turn with wheel and no Q, I'll take 9/12.

Good job Outlaw!

Crappiest race I've ever had. Really think no safety car when there's engine damage sucks. Really should not have finished asthma in this race but never had a chance to recover. Once I got 2 laps down I just said forget it nd started to just ride around trying to stay out of people's way. Really not happy about this race.

Wait till your leading by 3 secs and they call a SC for one car with engine damage, and the field stacks back up.. You'll hate it then.

Sorry Jay, engine damage or not they were single car incidents which I was going to be very picky about tonight. Welsh was running 2nd and had an engine damaging crash and I didn't call one for him either.

I don't like the fact that it changed between d1 and d2 seeing as in the end we are competing against each other points wise... I think it should have been consistent for the whole race weekend but a great race altogether for me :dopey:

That was the most fun I've had in a race since I joined FMSC last season. I had a rough start off the line, took it easy so I didn't slam into Owens and I dropped from 7th to 11th. I just stayed patient figuring things might get messy, three cars went off the track and I just barely squeezed by a sideways erick. I ran the most consistent I have ever run in a race, cracked into the 13's for the first time, stayed out of trouble for most of the race, avoided that damn invisible wall, and I even got as high as 4th at one point. I had planned a 2 stopper, pitted on lap 30, got lapped by outlaw coming out. I tried keeping up with him hoping his draft could help me catch erick who wasn't too far ahead, gave it a little too much throttle on the hairpin and looped it around, giving me damage. Even though I just pitted the previous lap, I figured I was still better off pitting again than trying to finish the last 15 laps with front damage. Without that incident I think I could've contended for another spot or two, but I'm still happy to have run as consistently as I did for 44 out of 45 laps. I can't wait for next week 👍

Super congratulations Rich, you did it again!

Sorry to hear about Nige getting engine damage.

Great win by Outlaw tonight, congratulations Man!! 👍

I took a heavy hit around lap 14 after outlaw and myself had managed to escape the pack. Clipping the dirt on the exit of turn 2 which sent me hurtling across the track into the wall :ouch: I didn't expect the safety car as I was able to limp back to the pits safely and get the car fixed up, exiting in 9th, 52+ seconds back :( Just plugged away and was clearly on a 2 stop strategy now and thought there would be 1 Safety car at some point to allow me back in it (didn't happen). Climbed up to 4th, then into 3rd after RIP_DeadMansHand took his pit. Had a good battle with Owens and DeadMan just after this, with us all on different tyres, (which was interesting) before I headed to the pit on lap 30, with Owens close behind. At the end of this 16 lap stint, my tyres were shot, so I would have had to run a 2 stop as it was, so the crash didn't cost me the race, but maybe a chance at 3rd or even 2nd.

From here I wanted to try and set a fast lap as I knew outlaw had at least a 12.8 from early on following me. Got a clear run for three laps and managed to find a 12.6 with low fuel, which I'm hoping will bag me some more points to salvage a bit more from the weekend after taking Pole. I was able to drop Owens with those series of sub 13s laps and just took it to the finish for a solid 4th after my crash.

Hate being late to the party and realized after the race I hadn't switched my settings back from qualifying, which is why my tyre wear was so high. I ran something like +16/+12 Ride Height and 8.0/6.0 Springs for qualifying, which is heavy on tyres, where I should have been a lot lower and stiffer for the race.

Great results/driving by RIP_DeadMansHand (DMH for short ;)) and Pony Boy!!

Also want to thank all the drivers out there tonight, some very nice 'heads up' driving by lapped and damaged traffic. 👍

I'm sorry you had such a bad night Jay, I guess that's racing and some weekends really suck. Chin up buddy, go for a good result at Laguna!! :)
