LOL oops, I guess I must have skipped over that part :) I also misread the part about the "New Car Refresh" cards. I thought those were supposed to allow us to wipe out any permanent modifications previously installed on the DLC cars. That definitely makes me happy about 2.02, some of the other things sound cool as well. I am still disappointed by the DLC. I don't really care a whole lot for the new cars, though I'll probably still buy it, but I was most looking forward to some new tracks, even if they were just tracks from previous version of GT.

So who wants to start testing this weekend :P

Might have to bring back my season 2 nb with some blingy wheels
I've already got a base setup for Laguna so I'll probably run some laps at Suzuka and Indy Road Course later tonight. :)

I'm about 80% finished with the driver packets for the Hydra series. Once I get v1.0 finished I'll post it here so everyone can go over it and make suggestions for things that need to be added.

Edit: I was going to post it a few minutes ago, but when you link directly to the Google Docs sheet it messes it all up. So will have to do a PDF file which I can get up later tonight.

Regarding the rule sheet, Section 5.f. (griding) this regards section 6 (safety car) as section 5. Just a simple typo

Section 3.c. "gives" in S2 should be replaced with "give"

Section 4 Paragraph 2: insert "will" between "drivers" and "go" in S1.

Just a query, it says there are bonus points (Section 9.b.) provided for a race win (2), isn't that kind of redundant and should be absorbed into the scoring format for P1? It seemed a little out of the ordinary for me.

Section 10 "These rules may have been
modified for use in FMSC and will be strictly inforced." "Inforced" should be "enforced"

Section 10 bullet point 1:
Omit "with" and add quotation marks ("") around "Fair and honest"

Overall, this seems like a very nice, concise, and manageable set of rules. Thank you for putting your time into putting this pamphlet together!
I hope this feedback is taken as constructive criticism and not as mindless whining.

Great job on the sheet! 👍 I was worried you were going to go to the 300HP mark or more, but you didnt. 👍 Havent tested it at 265HP, but it sounds great! Going to wait for the update and I'll get my Miata ready. Also, glad you didnt change the points system and love the safety car.

I was happy when I read we can pit during safety car. That's definitely going to be interesting! Heavy damage scares me a bit, but Im sure with all the clean drivers we wont have problems. You mentioned 14 drivers per division, the other 2 are the safety car and the race director(the one watching the race)?

Im pumped up for Season 4 after reading the sheet.

I was looking more for people suggestions on additions to the series. :P

Thanks though, I'll comb through it tomorrow.

Points did change. ;)

Yup 1st and 2nd are the same but all the rest are different.

I'm also a big fan of the power output. It seems just right for this car.

I think we need to add a rule - no passing under caution. This happens in real life, and they have rules against it.

I have a question, though. If there was a crash caused by someone else (example they missed their braking points, plowing the car in front, creating a train reaction incident worthy of a caution), when the caution period begins, how are the cars ordered? As they pulled themselves out of the sand trap? As they were before the incident?

Hey the Android app doesn't support attachments so do you think you could post a link so I can take a look at it? Its a slow work day :P

Thought I posted something in there about no passing under caution?

And yeah, just like in real life they would have to get in line wherever they came back on track.

I'd have to find somewhere to host it. I'm not going to link to the document itself because it gets all messed up when it converts over.

Great job on the series and the packet. At first I was a little unsure about the season since I'm not a tuner and don't really have the time to try, but I've gotten over that and I'm really excited for the next season. I'm sure people will be practicing/testing here and there over the next month or so, but is anyone interested in scheduling some preseason races?

One question, not that it effects me at all, but if the qualifying times are all at 9pm EST, how will the guys across the pond qualify? Or is that your way of handicapping Aderrrm by making him start at the back every race

They'll have to do it through a race steward that can watch runs during the day or wait until Saturday.

Great job on the rule book, reminds me of the SCCA ones with less techno-babble. 👍

Given how easy the car was on its tires in season3 I was lamenting that the pit stops were largely ceremonial. Especially considering how short the seasonal races are I was thinking it would be nice to do something to spice up the pit strategy aspect of things.
I'm kind of a fan of the prime and option tire thing that F1 does. Would you be willing to try something crazy like that? Where you get one set of 'option' soft tires and unlimited sets of the 'prime' hard tire to use during the race? What tires people change to after their pit stop is verifiable in the replay (and by the steward in the 'watch' screen) so it's possible to police after and during the race.
I think it would really bring the pit-strategy into the mix more than just dividing the laps by 2 and saying ok I'll stop then.

I just did them because it mixed up the order somewhat. Makes things a bit more interesting. Didn't really care about the tire factor. I thought about doing something like that, but with us moving to Racing Hard tires, I think a step up to RM's or a step down to SS's is a huge step in either direction.

We could do something along the lines of "qualify and start the race on one tire, finish the race on another".

We could do qualy and start the race in RH but then we are free to change to any tires we like. Im perfectly fine with RH the whole race, but Im fine as well having free choice of tires during the race. :D

Think it would really only be useful if the 'strategy' was open. That way people can decide if it works better for them to run a long fist stint on the harder tire or start on the softer to do a short run of hot laps to try and make up positions or gap the field at the beginning.
Gets even more interesting in the enduro finale where 2 stops are possible with a prime, prime, option; option, prime, prime; prime, option, prime strategic consideration. Becomes even more heroic if you can go all Jenson Button and nurse the option long enough to do an option, prime one-stop.

NEPALII

^^^ I Like that.

But then unfortunately you get the same effect as having a spec tire. Everyone is on the same strategy since there's only one *real* choice.

I like this idea with option tires, and there is strategy with the safety car aspect as well. Since tires don't usually wear too quickly on these light cars, do you pit early and stay on the lead lap in the hopes that there is a wreck and a good majority of the field pits during the safety car period, thus gaining you track position? Or do you just pit under yellow to not lose time to the field?

It would be even nicer with the tire strategy if PD fixed the tire model, so RH tires last longer than Mediums or Soft.

This is why I have kind of a problem with it. If given the option for stickier tires, most people are going to take it, then it'll just be like we're only regulating the stickier tire and no point in having the others. That's why it's something to think about.

Good point, since RS will be everyone's choice. *sigh* If only PD improved their tire model... For me the tires is what keeps GT5 from being up there with PC sims in terms of realism(sound as well, but doesnt matter much in my opinion)

The way tires gain and lose heat/traction is really odd too.

Soft tires don't always wear faster in real life.It all depends on track surface and how much rubber is laid down.

What!?! I need to test this... I just assumed that the softies would wear faster or at least different.
