sad to see you leave Biffy as I've just got into div1 and would like to challenge you on the track...

I felt the same a few months back, thought about giving in gt5 but after awhile I put it on, had a good fun race and damn I can't get rid of the game lol

Only 5 driver on the gate19 site..

People are really waiting to the last minute..

Only one who said he can't race is Tim.
I expect the rest to quali. 24 drivers..
20 to go..

I'll open up a room for about 1 hour within 40 minutes.

I would like to join, but can't drive properly when watching my son. He's potty training. :scared: Obsessed with flushing the toilet now. :irked:
In an FMSC practice room while I was racing, he pooped on the floor and "vacuumed" it with his toy vacuum cleaner.:banghead:
That's the main reason I stopped doing it.💡

^ Oh dear lord!!

By the way I may be mistaken, but I can qualify on European saturday, right? I hope I'm not getting something wrong here...

Indeed. I meant Saturday GMT (or GMT+1 in my case) around 10 or 11pm. (It would be early evening in the USA I figure?)

We'd like to take the time to formally introduce our first expansion. We're now the official sanctioning body of the Flyin' Miata Super Cup. Let's all hug!

We'll be picking up some members soon and giving them titles of "PURE Marshalls"
These will be volunteer race inspectors that will help FMSC with any troubles that arise as well as provide full support for drivers and regulations, testing, etc.
This is due to FMSC's new, more complex, rules for season 4, which include heavy damage, the use of a pace car, and much more that requires a tight oversight.

FMSC, and any series that chooses PURE sanctioning, will also be free to use any ruleset, point system, car specs, or text featured on our series. There's also the possibility of expanding the website Dr_Watson made us to include championship tables for participating series.
👍👍

sounds interesting.... 💡

:tup:Looks great Wardez. Sorry to hear a few drivers leaving, but so it goes. I am stoked on the people we have left though. Should be a great finish to the season.

Question - Since one of the drivers that "bumped" me to DIV2 has left the series, am I racing D1 or D2 this week? Also since there were so few finishers last week in D1, are there more points available to D2. I ask this because after the GT5 server issues 2 weeks ago, I took a hit in the points. Not a big deal as that can be dropped.

But l did absolutely everything in my power last weekend, winning both races, and fell further behind. Finishing with fewer points than the worst finisher in D1. The GT5 server issue seems to be a 3 week punishment if I were in D2 again this week.

I know these are all virtual points. But I had a goal as to where I would finish in this championship with the great talent here. I am a guy who likes looking at stats (nerd!) I noticed that D2 also adjusts your qualifying average and finishing averages. Instead of qualifying 7th or whatever it was last week it gives me a 15th. And instead of finishing first and first in my races I get a 15th and 15th as well.

I imagine his first words were "Oh For F:censored:k Sake".

Totally hear you. 👍
However, there are some other things to evaluate surruonding your questions.

I need to speak to Eddie before I can post a proper answer. 👍

Hey guys, unfortunately I some regretful news to share, of which I've been contemplating over the past day or 2. It's made even worse by the fact that you guys have lost a few strong competitors over the week :ill: I'm not sure if this might be better directed partciularly torward the organizors in a PM, but I think I shall let everyone know where I stand and my reasons, instead of just quietly dissapearing.

I'm sorry to say this, but I've decided to pull the plug on my participation in this series. Unfortunately I don't have a whole lot of time to play GT5 in my spare time nowadays, and TBH I'm just not enjoying what time I do have to play it, as much as I should be. I feel extremely bad if I've let any of you down, but I think sometimes we must do what's best for ourselves, and I don't think dragging myself out to race just because I feel obligated is neccesarily the right thing to do (for myself or any others)...mainly because this is just a game that we all play soley for personal satisfaction in the end (no money involved or sponsorship commitments, etc.), so why play if you're not really being satisfied? Especially when your time is limited. I also decided to go dirt biking with my bros on Sunday, so I wouldn't have been able to make the race regardless, which then would have put me in D2 for the next 2 weeks I believe

I think I was maybe a little bit quick in commiting to the series without thinking things through more thoroughly in some ways, but I was forced to take a break from iRacing once my PC crashed (I wouldn't be back to playing GT5 had it not been for that) and I wound up with several people trying to get me to sign up for this series...of which seemed quite appetizing at the time :dunce: Personally with my somewhat limited time to play, I tend to enjoy just being able to hop in a car and work soley on my driving (what I enjoy most), rather than having to continually work on a tune for next week and having to adjust for ballast in a lot of cases. These things are only a frustrating waste of time to me, and tends to only be detremental to my driving and the fact that I'm always trying to improve (as you tend to waste a lot of time generally being out of rhythm trying to figure out what adjustments work and which ones don't).

I also think spec racing will be what I do from now on when I play GT5, as it usually provides the best racing and everyone is always on even playing grounds (with true benchmarks)...letting the best man win, which is how I feel racing should be, at least in the sim world. In this series though, I feel a lot of quality racing that could be going on is going to waste, because of how the different cars tend to suit different tracks, and how in a lot of cases it's pretty much impossible for one car to beat, or even be remotely competitive with another car depending on the circuit layout (like in the last race). Unfortunately, my interest has just started to dwindle rather quickly, especially as I've become to realize that guys like Tony are basically driving a car that generally suits completely different circuits to mine (meaning the racing between us isn't great), while Adam is stuck in a division he has no place being in (IMO) for a round or 2, simply because he was the victim of an unfortunate DC last round. I hope I don't sound egotistical in that I only want to be racing these guys, but when you have to start loading the top drivers with a massive amount of ballast to promote closer racing...I've found out that I'm not the biggest fan of such for a number of reason (another variable to figure out each race, doesn't leave a legitmate benchmark as far as your lap times and what areas you need to improve, etc.) With all that said, I guess I'm just not cut out for this series.

Again, I'm extremely sorry to organizors especially, to the competitors who would have liked to have seen me stick around, and particularly to my team mate Rees, who's been a great team mate and a super cool guy all around. Hopefully I have at least given you guys something over the past few weeks...whether it be a good race, a driving tip, tune, etc. that would have made my short stay in the Championship worth something.

Best of luck with the series as I bow out. If I can be of any help to any of you, I'll be checking in fairly often and would be willing to help out when I can (whether it be to steward a qualifying session, or what not). Also, don't be suprised if you happen to see me enter or create a simple spec series in the near future. I'd love to have you guys compete in that if you found time as well, as pretty much all of you guys are legitmate racers in my eyes :dopey:

Anyway, I hope there are no sour grapes guys

I'm really sorry to hear that Brock.

I think it's sad, cause I was really hoping to witness you, Adam and Tony battle eachother til the end.. :(

Yeah but I understand what he's saying fully. This type of series has its thrill more in the championship overall than in the individual races. Schedule's long, weight plays a big roll in evening out the points, etc. but I know where you're coming from. It is a lot of work and we totally enjoy most of the things you listed as negatives to your chosen style of racing.

But trust me when I say I love my spec racing. That's where most of my racing is but the super GT series I join are the only ones where I love the slight differences when it comes to cars. If our calender was only 3 races long, yes it would suck. But I think that track selection was extremely important in attempting to even out the fight between car types for the overall win considering each car's strengths and weaknesses.

You wouldn't be trying to outdo tony on the track like you said but you would've definitely been fighting the numbers game through out the whole season with him and Aderrrm.

Knowing you have to make certain positions in a race, before hand, and strategizing according to that's the closest we'll get to GP racing, so that's how I get my fix.

So it's all good, thanks so much for helping us so far and we definitely hope to be racing with you in the near future. FMSC anybody? lol

I saw you looking in the Mazda thread a few times too, ah ah?

But yeah, next season of JGTS will definitely suit you more I'd say. But we'll see
See you on the track 👍

Well, Suzuka * 2, Nurburgring 24h and Indianapolis RC are defenetly tracks that a GT-R (Z, TOM'S SUPRA, SC430) can battle head to head with an NSX (YMS SUPRA) all the way..

And yes, I agree with Eddie. What Brock list as negatives are things most here in PURE JGTS find stimulating and fun.
I prefer this type of racing, cause it opens up for a non expected win from time to time, but still would place the best drivers on top in the end.
In a specs series, Adam, Tony and Brock would finish 1-3d in every single race.
Boring or not is in the eyes of the beholder.
I guess us slower drivers find a series like PURE more amusing, and the aliens like the specs series more.. But that's just an assumption from my point of view.

But all of us like different kind of racing.. And in the end, that's a good thing! 👍

Every single one of these are fair points.

Even though it would put me in D2 this week, I've already suggested we drop the divisional system entirely. I think it's a great concept that isn't working out as planned. If driver count is an issue, meaning we have 24 instead of 28, etc, we could simply split the divisions in two. Meaning 24 qualify, 12 in D1 12 in D2.
I feel like we're lowering the quality of the races, people are getting promoted automatically, and the people getting demoted aren't doing anything to get there.
The more or less people are in the room greatly affects this divisional system as well. Red Dc'd, and it was a low head count at the finish, so the guys behind him got inflated points, which is unavoidable. - But - What is avoidable is someone being stuck in a lower division because of something they can't control.
Because of all this it means faster drivers are dominating D2 and slower drivers are finishing well back in D1.

I feel better now anyway. :) End rant.
Owens and Neomone's quali times to come...

I'm with Muzz. I'm solidly D2, so divisional stuff and ballast will never affect me. I know the people around me that are of similar speeds, and I'm happy to try and beat a few of them each week.

@Brock - First I want to say no hard feelings. Maybe I am just a bad teammate.. lol. Wes left me last year too.

All kidding aside. It is a long season, and it is very difficult to commit each week. I find the motivation in knowing the fact that people are faster than me and I need to improve. If I was one of the top 3 would I feel the same way??.. Wish I could answer this question.:sly:

But seriously, it is a game in the end. If it is not working for you, it isn't working for you. I for one have learned a lot from being your teammate. I am very thankful for what I have learned, and to get an insight to the workings of an "alien." But most importantly, I am glad to meet another cool guy who I consider my friend.

If it is spec racing where I will find you in the future, great.👍 I look forward to it.

I hope I played no influence in your decision to leave. Its fun to play the team game and talk setups and the such. Hope I wasn't overbearing with this.

I will miss you in the series. If I don't see you around, I hope you and yours have the best of holidays.

If I see you around, beers are on me.

I need to speak to Eddie before I can post a proper answer. 👍

I totally understand. Thank you for the consideration.
