Makes sense

No work for me today so im gonna get some practice done , ill keep you guys updated

Something else. If you're at Laguna and reset the track, the next time you go back out on track your tires will wear normally but not warm up. Only way to fix it is close the room and open another. At least that's the way I understand it. Several tracks have this tire bug...

No way - this is the first I 've heard of it....!

Because my setups means it akes a few a laps for tyres to fully warm up I 'presumed' it was my setup that caused a lack of tyre temp on some tracks...

Is there a definitive list of tracks this happens on??

Does this affect everyone in the room, or just some people?

Sorry for all the questions, we've been running a couple of championships and 'reset' track beforehand (every race), so I'm guessing this might have affected the results...and I'd like to try and find out which results have been iimpacted by this.

Any concrete help greatly appreciated - thanks:tup:

I've seen the tyre wear indicator "go mental" on replays, always wondered about that...does that mean the race has been affected?

It is true :(

Create the room with the right track, and never, ever reset or change it. With formation lap there is no need anyway.

No, that is only a visual bug.

by the way guys. Track resets are completely unnecessary. The timing gets reset by changing the performance regulations of the room.
It worked 100% for the last 9 races in triplets. Just move the PP down a bit and all the times and positioning is gone. Move it back and it's the same as a reset track.

What this means is that doing tech inspection already clears the timing so a track reset is just wasting people's time.

I had a nice list after an hour of testing but I cant find it :dunce: The bug mainly affects "real" circuits-Nurb,Spa,etc although Fuji seems to be exempt post 2.08. I have not experienced the bug at a GT original track.

regarding the tire wear bug. Over at ORCA and in a couple online races we have had some odd tire temp/wear rates. All on real world tracks (Monza, Motegi, etc). Laguna has always been a hard track to get heat into the tires. I have started tuning my car to work with cold tires.

I'm hoping to get some runs in with the Z, GT-R, and Lexus either today or tomorrow. If Fuji was any indication, whatever my best time is will be close to cutoff.

In other words, you must be faster than outlaw to drive in D1.

Yep.. Laguna has always been notorius for good tyre wear and potentially cold tyres..

Some, not all, also struggle at places like Monza and Le Mans too.. the amount of straights and less corners means some people have trouble heating up their front tyres to full operating temperature..

Found that list of bugged tracks.

Motegi - east, west, full road (oval is ok)
Suzuka - east
Nurburgring- GP/F,GP/D,and all versions of the Nord.
Spa-normal,weather
La Sarthe-All versions

Slightly bugged
Fuji-both
Indy-oval
Suzuka

Not to worry Skeng, we're only doing 57 laps!! ;)

Always nice to have a shoulder to cry on!!!!

STOOPID QUESTION:

Er....... um......... er.... what exactly is the bug??

I mean, does it affect all cars, or just some?

I understand the tyres don't heat up, but is it a visual thing and the cars grip like the tyres are warmed up - or what is going on?

Sorry - being a :dunce:

PB so far is a 1:21.0
Really hard to say if 1 or 2 stops is the optimal strategy.
But since a crash is never far away at Seca and the 56 laps added to that I might as well set my mind for 2 stops.

21 4 my pb but im a regular 22 0 kinda guy here , im hoping that i can just pace myself not push an crash and just go for good points .

Did some lapping on my own last night in a *new* car. (Thanks Paul!)

21.9xx after about 20 minutes of tweaking a couple setups. Current setup is not quite as quick, but feels good. I think with some additional gearing changes, I'll be set.

Thank god for GTVault.

Idk a ton about the bug...but it only takes hold once the host changes tracks? And not when regs are changed, right?

Same here dude. Secretly hope some drivers don't show so neither of us don't get cut this week. Guess it's not a secret now haha.

I'm just hoping I make D2. Oh well...it's just a game. A damn good one though...

Afaik, it affects everyone in the room. Basically the tires wear normally but never heat up. From what I would guess, the car wouldn't handle the best as it would on warm tires. But that is something I'm not sure of. It all depends on where there's an error in the programmers code. Does the bug cause tires to be cold while the tire wear indicator is telling us the truth? OR is the bug just causing the tire wear indicator to tells us the tires are cold when they're actually not? Somebody probably knows here...

Q'd a 21.012, pretty pleased with it. :)

I've never tried it, but the fact that it's a bug and is avoidable is enough imo.
If nothing else one could rightfully complain that they can't tell if they're overheating their tires, even if it doesn't affect lap times.

Oh, you don't have to worry about me. I'm not able to race anymore, so I'm simply providing whatever I can to help the series along.

Now for some splits:
Xanavi Z: 21.052 / 19.327 / 16.956 / 23.908 = 1:21.243
Xanavi GTR: 21.023 / 19.403 / 16.920 / 24.088 = 1:21.434
Denso Sard: 21.112 / 19.463 / 16.667 / 24.111 = 1:21.353

After some practice I've hit a PB of 1:20.866, but for the most part I'm averaging low 21's so far. No runs longer that 5 laps or so yet, but I'm going to do a mock stint on my own now to see how it goes.

Laguna is definitely a Supra friendly track though. Hopefully I can do better than last in D1 this time around
