Interlagos in the snow, December 6, 2017.
If that happens I can already imagine the haters flooding the official forums complaining about the lack of realism since December is Summer in Brazil and it doesn't snow at Interlagos (there can be some pretty intense race stopping storms though). Even though it isn't realistic Interlagos in the snow would be interesting imo.

I know this may be asking too much. Ian, American, any chance we'll have control over camera placement for replays. Something like the system they use in IRacing maybe?

I'm not worried. I usually stick to real weather for that day.

I love the prospect or racing in the snow precisely because it's not something that happens in real life outside of off-road racing.

EDIT : Well, that will teach me to post when I'm extremely tired. Ignore what I posted, it didn't really add anything.
Jeez man. Head on down to Al's Toy Barn. Might have helped understand whatever the message was.

@The_American @IanBell I have some questions to answer:
  • Will we support multiple cars per pit box in the future (e.g. Nurburgring 24 hours)?
  • For PCs, do we have support for 60-car field at the 24 Hours of Le Mans course?
  • Also, for PCs, how will custom liveries work?
  • Update on 'borderless' full-screen mode to be implemented?
  • Can we have a 'current time/date on track' on the HUD (similar to Gran Turismo 6) so we can tell what time it is (e.g. midnight corresponding to dark)?
  • What about full map display option on the HUD as well (in addition to the zoomed in view of the map that we've been used to have in pCARS)?
Not going to be discussing PC hardware requirements, that's another time.

Quick Question.

Having a look at the screenshots, I'm seeing the Number 19 Coyne has the Trench Shoring logos on it which makes it a Long Beach livery and if the drivers are from Long Beach, it would mean Luca Filipi drives the car. However, Gabby Chaves and RC Enerson had also driven that car on road courses in 2016. Which of those drives the 19 Coyne?

For those asking who cares, I care as a Coyne fan.

I mis-read FS7's post and went on a rant (not aimed at FS7 by the way, just a certain type of 'sim-gamer' that his post reminded me of). I then re-read his post and thought "meh, my post is kinda related but not enough" :) . If you want to know roughly what it was about then it was simply a rant at the type of sim-gamer that thinks having fun makes a sim 'arcade' and how dare anybody deign to tell us how to play our games the way we want to play them.

I hold the topic of racing on snow a little personally as it's something I've wanted to do for about 8 years. I went up to Oulton Park to do a track-day there, in my previous car, and arrived on the morning to find the whole place a blanket of white (a rather deep blanket as it happens :embarrassed:). The day was called off, quite understandably, but I always wondered what it would have been like to have spanked a rear wheel drive car around a snow-covered track. So, I'll be damned if somebody is going to tell me that I can't do that because "it's not realistic".

And, of course, then I re-read FS7's post and realised that the "unrealistic" part was only in relation to northern/southern hemispheres. Something that people don't need to worry about when it comes to pCARS2. Possibly. *Cough*. Is that the time? Gosh, I really must be going ;).

Will there be a Benchmarking Mode for the PC version?

Will there be information in the game on how to properly operate the Manual Transmission for each car? IE does the car have Paddles, Sequential H-Pattern, etc? Does the car require a Clutch, Rev Matching, etc?
I can say "Yes" to at least one of these items. Which one it is, well, that's for you to find out :D

One thing I learned in the first pcars WMD..... This close to release not too much will change. Core features may be tweaked, but not revolutionized. Content will be polished. But what people have been trying is very close to the finished product that will arrive on launch day.

That isn't a bad thing as previews seem to show solid improvement from pcars1. But saying it is still WIP only counts for so much at this late date.

^^^ You'd be surprised at the changes that are happening on a daily basis still. The core content is there, yes, but in terms of the functionality of it, how it feels, how it looks, how it sounds, that is being polished every single day. A demo build, even one that is maybe just a few weeks old, can feel, look and sound quite different to a build we're using today :). The next 2 months are still going to be very exciting for those of us testing :).

Lol, I'm not a native English speaker, I've misread things before, so no biggie. :)
Anybody that knows me knows how I've always been in favor of having options and making games enjoyable to as many people as possible.

With mandatory pit still in the game, is there some sort of requirement to do anything? There needs to be something more specific about what's mandatory whether it's a driver swap or a tire change. Otherwise, we just put for a stop and go, and that isn't any fun.

...I'll be damned if somebody is going to tell me that I can't [race on snow] because "it's not realistic".
To put a spin on what @Northstar said, I love the prospect of driving in the snow precisely because it is something that happens in real life. I don't care if a real life sanctioned race in XYZ motorsport would be red flagged or called off, because that's not sort the realism I'm really after. Half the time I play simulators, I'm only driving around a circuit because it's what the game offers. It's just a venue for whatever I want to do.

I have posted this elsewhere so apologies, only just noticed this thread.

Ian, I have a question for you. With the introduction of live track and localized weather, how do the AI determine when it is appropriate to pit? (.e.g certain parts of the track are wet/dry). If we recall in the original p cars, we had a lot of issue with strategy and the AI not taking into account certain conditions.

Do we also know what sort of improvements have been made to the AI this year as a whole?

Offline racing is incredibly key to me so I would hope this isn't going to be overlooked again.

I posted this a few days ago and it seems to be overlooked. Anyone, please? :)

I asked similar question and Ian responded below.

Report #26

Do you know if the AI are affected by the new live track?
First game had problems with the AI running super fast in the rain and also not pitting.Have these bugs been addressed?

Ian Bell
It's balance more than bugs and there are still issues yes. We're furiously trying to balance it for all weather, time of day, series, cars, track surface, etc etc but the possible variations are almost endless so it's a tough one to nail properly. They are certainly better than before and we're still polishing.

Noticed an error with the Car list lost.
The C7R is listed as 2015 when it's a 2014

Just so everyone knows.
This is apparently a 2015 C7R

Wrong its mislabeled.
This is a 2015

How are we getting 2016 Indy cars but the C7R is still a 2014?

Just curious, why not add a 2015 C7R OR A 2016. Instead of taking the "Gran Turismo" Route.
I bet it will get a 2015 Livery from le mans and they will call it a 2015 just because of that.
Pls just give us a 2015 C7R:((

The one on the right is from 2014.

Funny thing is this one is from 2014 too...

Personally, so long as it is competitive with the 2016 Spec cars, I don't care what it looks like. Same goes for the Aston GTE as well. Or, better yet, lose your mind to get the 2016 spec in the game. I mean, if you're going to pitch a fit about something, make it about something worthwhile.

2015 has more arrow and more power.
2016 is built for 2016 Regs and is updated to the same regs that the GTE class will be based around.
2014 is slower.
If they had a 2015 or 2016.
They wouldn't need to have ******** bop in the game .

Can you give any more details on the indycar championship in career mode yet? How this will work with team offers, schedule, weather patterns etc.

Much appreciated
