Quick Match events RUBBISH??

I haven't even been able to get in to a 350pp quick match room in almost a week. Depending on car and competitors, am running 5 mins flat to 5:12 in the podium spots.

My only problem with quick match events is running clean and getting a perfect line into a corner just to get sideswiped by some jackwad and I get a 6 second collision penalty. Nothing better than being penalized for not doing anything wrong. This happened to me twice yesterday in the new RB Jr race and many times in the 450pp event. I think PD needs to work on the collision detection aspect of the penalties.

Been there too often. I was riding my line the other day and the other guy wanted my spot so he smashed against me 5/6 times before I was penalized 6 seconds. What a joke. PD needs to fix the collision system.

Having spent hours on that Midfield QM awhile back, and even more hours and hours at the current Autumn Ring, it certainly seems to me like some of those jackwads have figured out the collision boundary thingy and know where they can hit you and not get penalized.

Had kind of a bad session last night. I got into a room that kept shuffling the results after the race. First race I came in 5th out of 11 after getting beat up pretty bad the first 2 laps. Then on the second race, I took 2nd but was paid for 3rd. On the third race, I came in first, but was shuffled off the board on the final standings and was then paid for 2nd. I left the room after that happened. Cheating people is bad enough, but when the computer cheats for them, I am done with it.

I don't understand why sometimes I'm dropped down further than I was when I crossed the finish line. I can understand if somebody disconnected and I was put up a place but not down a position. I was in the GTI race once and the one person was off to the side of the track the entire race but kept getting first. Don't know how they kept doing it but what's the point of cheating. If you want easy money just do some of the regular races. Why ruin the enjoyment for other people. It's not like it's real money or by "winning" these races it gives you an advantage over others or increases your overall standing. Makes no sense.

Hacks much?!

Hacks much?!

I've noticed tonight that sometimes someone will stay on the start grid, not moving for ages and then - say i'm 9th out of 10, on the last lap they'll suddenly appear behind me and overtake easily and finish above me, even though they should be 2 laps behind. Methinks some people have found an exploit in the quick matches. They're sitting in last place the whole time until the last lap, because the side bar of positions shows them to be there.

Also had a weird thing happen tonight too. Finished the race, but instead of being taken to the screen that gives you credits, the game took me to the various camera angles that play during the build up to the race....except my car was still running ! My wheel was moving on it's own because my car was bumping into barriers/walls etc, but i could not see the car to control it, as it was on a different camera view/part of the track !
Then, the next race started again in about 20 seconds instead of the 256 seconds as normal and i could control my car just as if it were a normal race, but the view was pre-race camera angles only ! I couldn't exit, so instead of doing a hard reset of my PS3 i disconnected my Ethernet cable and was kicked from the server, luckily going back to the game menu screen with no need to turn off my PS3. AND i didn't get any of the credits i had just earned !

QMs are great for the credits you can earn, especially with your 5 day log in, but i have had nothing but trouble getting into them in the first instance, it's a shame. The servers must be constantly clogged. My internet connection is apparently 1Gps, so i don't think it's from my end, although i can't rule that out as i'm not knowledgeable about these kinds of things...

Hey hey people... well I just tried the latest GT500 class races at the Suzuka Quick Match. What should be 3 laps of fun turns out to be the darkest 18:30 pm ever. No Lights from your car show on the road (no matter if high or low beam), no track lighting at all, and the time never progresses at all. You start the race at 18:30 and you finish the 3 lap race at 18:30.

So I waited for the next race, and same thing... a very dark 18:30 with absolutely no lighting at all.

C'MON... FIX THIS CRAP!!!

No wonder people are leaving in droves.

Cheers

I think this might be caused by lag. I experienced this when I left the first 2 cars sitting on the starting line, thinking they had a false start and feeling pretty pleased with myself. Then I realized everyone but me was still sitting there. As I closed in to lap them, they came shooting by me, bouncing all over the track and I realized this was caused by lag. It's happened a half dozen times now and sometimes with all of the field.

I've also noticed in really laggy rooms that the lap times vary wildly. In the 350pp QM I've had my lap times vary as much as 6 seconds. I've gotten 1:33xx lap times in a Citroen C3 when the GSX-R's are doing 1:32's. There's no way that car can keep up with the Gixxers.

Really liking the gt500 races. Takes a lot of finesse as they oversteer a LOT. What times are you quicker guys running? I'm in the 5:48s as long as I don't get too hung up and waxing the fields. No close races like I was having at Spa. Most races, second is 10+ seconds behind. These cars are tough to run close though, and there are only a couple clean passing opportunities? Haven't run the Prototype one really yet.

100 seconds of wait.....

"You have been disconnected by the server"

Nice troll.

Tried 3 times to get in to QM and was surprised when I finally did. Click on warm up button and car continues to auto drive for about 1/4 Lap. Blink, you have been disconnected from server.

Beginning to wonder of its worth the hassle anymore.

It's only an incompatibility issue. It happens with your connection and another player's are in conflict. You see them standing on the grid, or in the box, but in fact they're racing. Probably they see you like that too. It happens too in public lobbies. In the end the game gives the position and the rewards accordingly with whoever came first. That's not hack/cheat. The fact is the PD's servers suck.

That sounds like you had a loading glitch. I had it too on the very first try of getting in to the race, i honestly thought it was a night race. But looked a bit closer at the details and realised it's glitched, so reloaded the qm and back to daylight.

I believe that you're right... I went back the next day and everything was fine, as Quick Matches go anyways. I've ran a few races now, and I like the combo... a bunch of fun when you get in a room with decent drivers.

Cheers

Finally comfortable in the gt500 and for some reason still no good races. Monza would be fun, but the boost kills it for me. Back to gt500 haha

Does anyone know an address or a site where one can complain about the total bull**** that we are expected to deal with. Why should those of us who want to race clean be forced to deal with the crap going on in these races. Why should we be the one's having to leave from frustration. I suggest we request they fix this or lose a long time customer. I have had enough, have you?

If there was an address they would toss everything into file 13. If they had a phone it would drop you into voice mail that they never check. They don't care, they really don't care.

I think you are 100% right. Oh well I signed up for iracing. The sad thing is how many customers they are losing due to their not caring enough to make it enjoyable for the majority. Oh well I guess I'm the fool for expecting anything remotely like real racing.

I'm running similar times to you. 5:50 base time down to 5:47 on the quicker runs. Unfortunately, I'm a long way off the quickest drivers. Some I've seen down to consistent 5:37's with lap times of 1:52-51. The best lap I've done is a high 1:54 but that was with a couple of drafts. Mid 55's without.

Suzuka is a pain in the arse for me with an auto box and I'm pretty much on the limit with my times but I'm still enjoying it. I'm sure I can get down to 5:45's with a bit more practice so still something to aim for.

It's all in throttle modulation and smooth inputs. Turn in points are huge too because recovering from a bad line really kills a good lap here, especially through the esses. I can run 5:43s decently consistent now that I've had some time running this one. Fun event. Haven't seen anyone under 5;40 yet, but I don't doubt it. I struggle being consistent in this car with turn in and seeing my markers

I raced GT500 a few times. Cars steer well, a VERY loose, but fun to drive when you are not surrounded. But 3 of the 5 successful log ins had me in the dark. No fun there.

Imagine you like clean races. You're an educated person, you respect the rules. You spend a nice evening. And suddenly, for no reason, a strange idea strikes your mind. What about destroying this boring harmony? Hey, I could meet dozens of people recovering from a recent lobotomy, spoil all the pleasure I get to play this game. Why not entering quick matches?

The touring car race at Nurburgring has the typical last chicane cutters going berserk. I guess if it makes someone feel like a winner...Sunday there were 5 racers cutting the chicane, every lap. Even with a 10 second penalty, they still gained 1 to 1.5 seconds each Time.

As if someone diving inside and hitting you to give you a 5 second penalty isn't enough.

Come on PD.

The fun comes when you can run 'em down  ~ EVEN THO ~ they've cut the chicane!! That's some kind'a sweet satisfaction!! 👍👍
