Quick Match events RUBBISH??

As soon as I saw Nurburgring for touring cars, I knew the chicane would get ignored by the morally corrupt, win at all cost idiots.

I don't like the track that much but love the touring cars. There's no way I'm doing anymore shortcuttable (it's in the dictionary, honest) tracks in quick match though. The cheats come out in droves for them.

As for the GT500 event, it only gets dark at the end of the event in some of the races (weird intermittent server bug) but the race itself is in daylight.

No shortcuts anywhere and the people who like to cheat, barge, and troll you get left behind if you're reasonably dialed in to the track. Probably the best challenge for a quick match I've had so far.

The fun comes when you can run 'em down  ~ EVEN THO ~ they've cut the chicane!! That's some kind'a sweet satisfaction!! 👍👍

Would be more fun if I had 7.62 mini gun on the car. Nothing like being at the apex of the turn and some ahole coming from behind, caving in the left side of your car, pushing you to the opposite side of the track, and you getting the five second penalty for ramming. Thus ended the first lap. Thus ended the race. If I wanted an anal probe, I would send a message to some aliens.

No bud,, it's NOT just you that has noticed the Brazilians dirty driving. There are a few, a VERY few who will try and drive decent but the majority of those green flags are nasty, dirty and go out of their way to "try" ruin every race. Personally I just don't understand why they like to do it. Because I run the QM's almost exclusively when I run across one or more of them driving dirty and because I don't need the credits nor do I give a rip if I lose,, call me nuts but I have made it almost a vindeta to bust 'em up, leave 'em in the grass and blow them off the course until they quit and leave the lobby - if I can. Problem is, they've practiced dirty driving and sometimes I'm just not good enough to blow some of them up.
THE BRAZILIANS ARE SO DIRTY AGHHHH. ALL OF THEM EVERY TIME!!!!!! Overtime I see that green flag I think, "Well ****..."

Regarding the Brazilian drivers, they are not all bad. I participated in a couple GT 500 races today with someone named RaimundoSilva. Other than the occasional bumps, he was as clean as I try to be. Of course, he was so fast he could be clean (he had a 5:42.0xx total time). So just remember, that just like the rest of us, some are clean and some are dirty.

I enjoy the quick match races for grinding some cash. The problems I have is when cars are not visible on track. Have had messages from angry drivers that I never saw.

I seem to be locking out rooms that I race in. Players met never show up on track and then I am the only one left. Have to exit and rejoin and the process starts over.

NAT 1 or 2 same problems.

This has happened to me more often than I care to admit but a response pointing out that they were not in your room will usually do the trick. It's been my experience that it happens in the races where the starting lineup has gaps between players. I've been called some choice names but I think I'm starting to develope a reputation as a clean driver. Yes I've bumped but I don't hit anyone on purpose no matter what. If I knock someone off the track and don't pull over waiting for them to recover and go by me it means I didn't see them on the race list or track.

Try the above technique enough and before long you won't get anymore nasty messages. Works for me. Good luck.

I do the same as you in the event of an inadvertent knocking off, and it works really well - I find it earns real respect from other drivers, some really nice messages, and they then reciprocate (even some of the less clean drivers). I'm currently running mainly in the GT500 QM, and find that the dirty drivers don't stay in for very long, as it slows them down too much!

I wonder if anyone else has this issue. I just started doing quick match races. I noticed sometimes after the races starts, some of the cars don't move. Sometimes it's one, sometimes it's four. It doesn't happen every time, but if you hit them you get a 9 second penalty. I've seen people in the same race as me go right through them, and others hit them and get the penalty. Is this a server thing or is it my internet? It's really a pain at the start of the race because it's hard to avoid them and you get a penalty right off the bat. Thanks

If they're see through, they've pressed start to ghost or the annoying sort of player who goes for a quick dump/pizza/coffee and roadblocking the start for the drivers behind them.

It could be lag though. A 9 second penalty is a serious hit only 2 cars back from a standing start. You need a huge speed difference in the collision to get 9 seconds. Then again, you might be a demon on the tree and easily do it.:P

Im definitely no demon on the tree :). They stay there the whole race though...it's like they never move from there starting position and they are solid. It's probably my internet, I was just curious. Its tough when your racing against 2-3 people and when you get to the start line you have to dodge those cars too

I absolutely love the ideas, but if you start at the back of the grid you are left with idiots who cannot drive and hit you off track giving YOU the penalty not the moron who cause it. I've only enjoyed 1 quick match and that was the 350pp one but I was just fortunate to be paired with great people who I'd love to drive with again but overall it's a great feature exercuted very badly. I may need a minute in the whining and crying after this bs race I just had.

I agree that they are a bit pants. While they do give out a lot of prize money for the race length, i'm lucky if I manage to get into a Quick Match event. Most of the time, I end up getting disconnected from the server for even trying to enter a room.

If you find yourself at the back of the grid with the "not so good" drivers, there's no reason why you can't get past them. They're the ones who're blocking, brake checking and barging in the corners and slowing their own pace. Forewarned is forearmed. Weave about a bit as if you're ready to make a pass, they'll over defend, and you can fly past.

With the penalties, if they're pushing on you trying to get an advantage, don't push back. A penalty costs more than a lost position.

Don't go for an outside line against them as it'll be too tempting with them having the inside line, you're the one who'll likely get the penalty, if not the gravel trap when they lean. Unless you can trust them, only take the inside line so that if they try and squeeze, they'll get the penalty. You can always run them wide on the exit as you'll have the optimum line then.

As for QM disconnections, they're a hell of a lot better than they used to be. It usually only takes me a single attempt to get in but I only do the GT500 race which isn't that popular. Get into the habit of deleting your internet cache before attempting to get in and you'll have more success.
