I liked the first three burnouts but this latest one just was bad....just really bad. I was expecting a solid burnout but instead got a heap of steaming.....well you get it.
I figure it's not too realistic, but with damage there's a certain compromise you have to have so the playability is still there. I think Codemasters did fine with it.
We'll see if I can make that happen again.
Everybody is calling GRID an arcade game but isn't it a little bit more than that, nl. a simcade?
Oops, I was wrong.Have you played the demo (honest question)?
The only sim element to to it is that you need to slow down for some of the corners, the handling model is almost pure arcade, while the look of the game (tracks and cars) are real world.
I have to admit that GRID still has me in a quandary about getting it, only a week until its released and I still don't know if I can be bothered to get it. I guess it will be down in part to how much more I can drag out of GTAIV in the next 7 days, that and if I really dislike it then Ferrari Challenge would be an option to P/X it against. I know that I will almost certainly end up getting it anyway, as I have done with every Codemasters racing title anyway, guess I just can't make my mind up in my old age
Scaff
I've found a great way to get around the second to last corner, although your RPM's stay real low until you get out, although that can probably be fixed by using manual, am I correct?

Even to be a more arcade type racer you still have to pull over skills from GT series into grid. E.G. racing lines. If you don't take good lines then you will be getting walked away from fast. Most arcade type racers you can do silly things such as cutting through grass and such. On grid if you do that the only thing it does is make you drop a place...lol. Its like GT4 got together with PGR for some hot coffee. I enjoy all race genre games so im happy to be getting it when it releases. I will play it and when i get a little bored switch back to GT series and when im tired of that and want to play something really bad i might even bust out the PS2 and play some NFS:Carbon Goodbye physics as i know them!! hahaa
Oops, I was wrong.
It's Ferrari Challenge that is called a simcade not GRID. GRID is arcade!
I just removed the GRID demo from the HDD as it is (sorry for GRID fans) rubbish.
Huh? The only reason I couldn't get around the last turn was because my car was so Fed up. lol It would turn right on it's own which made it harder to turn left. xD
Well I just ordered the 360 version. I feel that the game will only keep my interest if I have achievements to unlock. Plus, it's only £32 at Shopto.com, which is really cheap. 👍

He stated the rationale in his post. He feels that he'd lose his interest in playing GRID without Xbox 360 Achievements, as the PS3 currently has no equivalent to the 360's Achievements. But... the PS3 will be getting achievements soon called "Accomplishments", I believe. So really, there's usually very little to differentiate each version of a multiplatform game... although you'd probably want to get the game on the console that most of your friends own, if online multiplayer is a key feature for you.Just curious as you have both consoles which rationale do you use to choose one version over another...?
If I had both consoles I would find it really hard to choose which one to buy it for! That goes for any multiplatform game

Well, usually I go for the better looking version, but since GRID is is pretty much identical on each console, I'm going for Xbox only for the better controller suited towards driving (IMO), and the unlockable achievement points (kind of lame, I know).
Next PS3 firmware update includes 2D trophies on the XMB, and supposedly upwards of 70% of titles should support the feature immediately. And then with Home, those trophies will be 3D.Yeah how it looks on one or the other is definitely big pull as well as play-ability...
I don't think wanting it for the achievements is lame, I wish Sony would get their act together and sort their rewards system so all my efforts can be worth something! although the older games now may not have it eventually added like COD4..
