Thats strange the AI issue, i restart alot in many races and i always come up against exactly the same opponents. Is your problem xbox only because i have ps3 version....

still lovin the game, going to play after typing this.
The restarting I am talking about is in the Touge events. Maybe its specific races or something.

Hmmm... Tounge events I've not had a problem with. I've always restarted with the same car. I know that if you restart when you're on the second run that it resets back to round 1 again, but I don't think that's anything to do with the issue.

I wonder if those with 360's that have no hard drive can get an updated full version of the ame directly from CM, or do they just have to live with the bugs and no updates? If you can't get an updated disc, and I were in their position, I'd be rightly pissed. :ouch:

I'm all for having the ability to make game updates, but for customers with no hard drives, the developers should then also offer a replacement program so that those customers are not stuck with an incomplete or bug ridden game.

I think what people without hard drives will do is buy a memory card for the 360, because otherwise they wouldn't even be able to save their games. So they should already have a storage device to download an update to.
Quite a big patch already for a game that's only just come out...makes me concerned about going out and buying it. :\

You never know, CM's could have been pushed to put the game out when it wasn't finished correctly by the big wig's. It might have needed a bit more tweaking and they were more interested in getting the cash/pounds rolling in and worrying about the fix later after everyone had bought it.

Ok everyone good thing I gave the game another chance because I found out what happened last night. Somehow I turned the Pro Mode selection on. If you turn the pro mode on then you can NOT restart any races and you dont have any flashbacks. I now love the game again. I dont know how that happened but I sure am glad I figured it out. :dopey:

That is pretty funny, especially since i knew that from just playing the demo:)

I suppose I might have hyped this up a wee bit much? I'm kinda torn, there's parts of this game I like and parts I do. I have a feeling if they make a [insert capital letter lower case vowel here]2 then it will be a lot more expanded/polished. It seems like they just hit the surface of what they wanted to accomplish. Oh, haven't noticed any problems like FR drops or freezes yet. :knocks on wood: Anyway, I've had a blast with both Stangs that's for sure.

Powerslide = FUN!

Oh and something tells me I'm gonna get that rollover achievement fairly quickly... xD

The opposing cars being faster than you is becoming more and more annoying. I tried the Le Mans race in an LMP1 car and once again, on the several fast S-bends towards the end of the they corner considerably faster than you. If I try and keep up with them I just completely understeer off the track. I can gain on them a little on the last 2 chicanes but that's it - they're gone. I've seriously never been so frustrated with a racing game in a very long time. :grumpy:

It happens on every track, but only in the very fast corners. Lower speeds are fine.

The tounge event has 3 races per event, with each race putting you up against a faster oponent/car 1st american muscle, 2nd 350z, 3rd NSX. If you crash or quit during the first race your given 2 options......1 quit race.....2 qiut series!.....Ok so you start against the muscle car, then quit race....your then moved to the next race against the 350z and so on.....you need to quit series not quit race, that way you can restart the whole series again and go up against the muscle car.

You think? ;)

For me at least, I have to approach GRiD like an arcade game, and not focus on the things that are clearly unrealistic, otherwise I would be very disappointed. Instead I just get a kick out of the gameplay and the arcade like challenges the game throws at you. Much like the later races in the single player mode in MotorStorm, where the AI increasingly start targeting you instead of simply trying to win the race... yeah, completely unrealistic and over the top... but also VERY challenging. 👍

Uh... Motorstorm is nothing like GRiD and also has nothing on GRiD. But yeah, having a free run type of area would be the best so you could do whatever you want.

Yeah, I was scratching my head at how I wasn't catching this Porsche 911 on the straight in a LMP1 car, he was also out turning me too... :dunce:

The 350z seems to handle a lot better than a Skyline in the turns too. Didn't know that. :dunce:

The other thing that irritates me i what Dave was taking about where the Ai can knock me off, but I can't knock them off.

There's just so many things I like about it - first of all, the photo-realistic graphics, which for me even surpasses GT5P

For me there's no doubt about it - forget GT, Forza, PGR, GTR, rFactor, Race 07, all of those. This is the new benchmark for racing games. This is THE best racing game I have ever played in my life. Just absolutely stunning. 10/10 :D

are you overdosing on robitussin? or is it just weed?

Just got it today my pops decided to trade Dirt for Grid, seems good but I've only done two races so not had much time, I've got a funny feeling tho that i wont spend much time with it. I hardly get much time to play games anyway, with work and such and with GTA4 been my main game at the moment till MGS4. I will try and play it more. graphics are nice and damage model is good, but this game seems like it dosnt know what it wants to be, either arcade or sim.

Just finished the career mode, the last race in the whole career is down below:

3 lap race against Ravenwest at Le Mans Classic in Koenigsegg CCXRs on Extreme difficulty. You cannot change the difficulty, it's set at the hardest for the biggest challenge. Consistent, fast driving on all 3 laps will give you an easy win. Prize is £10,000,000.

Would you say trading in Prostreet as well as a couple of old PS2 games that I don't play anymore, for this would be a good idea?

speedstar.....just get it, you really will get some good races out of it, online is great with no issues, and although the super hero above has clocked it us mere mortals will be nibbleing away at it for months...........there is of course ferrari challenge due out......in around a month but to be honest even if you trade this in for it you'll get your moneys worth.

I sold my copy of prostreet for 9 bucks last weekend. I needed 15 bucks and i only had 5, the game isn't that great. Especially since everyone cheats online, makes it not too fun. I hate trading in or selling games to places like gamestop because they rip you off so bad. But, i needed that 9 bucks:ouch:

lol, Wow... I had gotten mine for free so when I sold it I would've made a profit. I traded for a 256 mem card though since I needed one when I go to my friend's house. Stupid M$...

I would. Especially if you enjoyed DiRT.

Both DiRT and GRiD do many things really well, especially damage modeling, both visually and mechanically, and both can offer some very exciting and challenging races.

The only significant flaw is the arcade like physics, and ridiculous rubber-band AI. However, like the latest Indiana Jones movie, if you don't focus on the way that the laws of physics are largely ignored, and instead chill out and just enjoy, even embrace the over the top action, then I suspect you'll really enjoy GRiD. 👍

Speaking of ignored physics, is it just me or on the Touge events does the car feel lighter going up hill or not?

Physics wise GRiD is really, really odd, it's a shame because it is great fun if you can put that out of your mind. I find it best in short bursts, if I try to spend more than half an hour on it, it starts to wind me up but in short bursts it's great fun. I get the same when I play Fifa 08 for extended periods.

I tired the touge and the midnight touge, seemed really disappointing. I had an easier time keeping up going up hill. It looked awesome though. xD

i would have wanted more than 9 bucks

I did want more than 9 bucks, i needed 10 more dollars to go with the 5 i had so it got sold. Sometimes other things are more needed than a POS game.

I have to admit that Grid has got rather tired rather quickly.

The arcade physics and the 'realistic' look have started to bug me again (I'm a fussy so and so), and I just can't be bothered to play it. The demo of Bad Company is actually getting more time right now.

With MGS4 coming out this week and Bad Company on the 27th I strongly suspect that Grid is going to fall to the bottom of my 'must play' list; and a strong chance exists that it will get P/X'd when Ferrari Challenge is released.

With all the really good games that come out these days its kind of hard for companies to get away with just an "ok" title now. I got gamefly for the exact reason as you were saying. Have you seen how much it is just to rent a game?! Here its right at 9 dollars with tax and all anywhere you go. So, gamefly was a great option because i pay the same amount but i can take a chance on a game because if i don't like it i just send it back and a game is on its way once the post office scans in my parcel.
