yea i agree with the above.. once metal gear comes... im sure i will not play grid as much.. i dont play it as uch as gtp

on grid i already stop playing the career mode.. all i do is play online.

I have the 360 version.
I dont think I have been this addicted to a racer in a while. This game consumed my entire weekend. I played almost the entire weekend online and just could not stop playing. Spent most of my time drifting and doing the demolition derby races. Also threw in a couple random races to mix it up. I love how the voting is set up and the option to vote people out. They really did an excellent job with this game online.
I was having so much fun that Heather decided she wanted to play too. So we rented a copy for her and we had a great time online. 👍

I've played the demo and I can't seem to get into it. Something about the handling jsut doesn't feel right and it annoys me.

Moving slowly through the game, and taking it all in since i really enjoy it so far. But i just encountered a small snag which i'm kind of disappointed with... The Open Wheels.

Basically, contrary to the rest of the game, the Open Wheels are near indestructible, which is odd since they should be very fragile. I must stress that i play at the maximum difficulty with no helps and stuff, but i can't help but feel a bit sad that the F3s are so though... the biggest of crash will only bring some of their components yellow... no wheels ripped off or stuff like that. Furthermore, i find it quite hard to "total" them...

am i the only one feeling this way?

I've not got RD Grid, or even played the demo, but from reading this thread and the online reviews it seems to me that Codemasters have just tried to cram too much into it. Almost like they've tried to make it all things for all fans of motorsport. They would appear to have perhaps spread themselves too thinly and ended up with something which covers a lot of ground but satisfies nobody. Would this be a fair assumption of the game?

I felt that the previous ToCA/Race Driver game on the PS2 was heading in this direction too. It's a shame really, i've been playing Codmasters racing games since i had a ZX Spectrum and always loved what they brought out.

not really. They did approach many different kinds of racing and put everything in the same game, but it works for me. If there is one fault to this tho, is that they all feel very similar to one another, leaving only the car handling as the real "difference" rather then the sports themselves. Touring, muscle and Open wheel are a good example... they feel very similar, only with different handling.

However, i'm having a blast with it so i'm not complaining. Its a good "entry level" racer game for the enthusiast and perhaps even for the ones who are thinking of getting into more serious games such as GTR or GT5.

It says its for pc, am i missing something? I was wondering why they would release 2 demos for the same game on live, checked and there is still only the original demo on there.

sorry, not sure why i wrote "on live".. force of habit i suppose.

I played the demo yesterday, and I must say it is pretty fun except the drifting which is the biggest POS recreation ever made of drifting.

The BMW race & the Mustang race, though, were a lot of fun. However, the grip in the game is awful. You can be gripping at the edge one point, and the next way too much. The cars can all also brake at the 50M marker without any problem and any speed, and sliding seems to have no effect on turns.

The only real reason I want to try this game is the LeMans races, as it as been years since I enjoyed a good Le Mans race on the console, the last being the 24 Hours of Le Mans PS2 game.

But the drifting, again, is just flat out unrealistic. Even Pro Street seems to have it down more. The fact you that if you even remotely touch the wheel to counter steer will cause the car to suddenly spin the other way is garbage. And don't get me started on the demo track. No drift car is going be sliding over and up curbs without some sort of damage or strain on the car.

Thus being, I will probably pass this one up just by reading the comments here, and will continue to wait for a game that can truly deliver a LeMans experience.

Ahh, ok i got ya. I was just making sure i wasn't missing something on live. I lost my gold membership last night so when i looked i was a silver account and while that shouldn't matter i didn't know for sure. I can't download bad company without being a gold member which is lame. Guess i will just make a new gamertag until friday so i can download the game to play it:idea:

On xplay they gave grid a 5/5. Thats not a frequent thing on xplay so they liked it.

I hadn't played my 360 much in the past week but I made a point to play GRiD and I tried the LeMans 24hr. race. I was a bit disappointed I suppose. :dopey:

I was expecting a long boring 24hr race like from something in FM2 or GT4 but as soon as night fall came it was already day! I mean, I really sucked at the night part so I never got a chance to get that many laps to crash in and it really didn't "feel" like a 24hr race since it was based on time not laps. Something that I did like. I didn't check, but I hope there is a way to change the time to get more of the night experience, it was a little quick for me.

I have now rented it & am considering buying it after 2 days use. lol
The graphics are great, as is the game-play; much like DiRT.

I loved dirt, i need to get it again. I had it and my ex bosses kid borrowed it and well, i quit working for him and its lost in all that. That was one of the very few games i have ever completed on the hardest difficulty setting. Only thing i didn't like about it was when you went into some corners and you got loose or you wanted to drift around the corner to actually be faster it was like there was a auto brake or something. You would be sideways and then your car would drop speed so fast. I remember going into them at like 120 and before i even got to the apex i had dropped speed so much that i would have to downshift like 2 gears just to keep going and not bog down. And the car would just straiten out, that annoyed me. But nothing beat down full pikes peak with the second cockpit view, that game had the best cockpit view ever.

Wow everyone knew that since you posted saying how it was meant to be sad and horrible....

I've seen many videos of the game and have heard about it. Unfortunately, physics don't look to be its strong suit, but the cars and courses are very nice(though they could have been better modeled). In my opinion, it could've been better. For instance, I hate how they've grouped certain catagories to continents. You can only do street races in america or you can only do drifting in Japan or you can only do Sports car racing in Europe. Thats my only problem is that they've limited it when it should've been more broader. The only thing that'll get me to buy the game is the fact that I can race the LMP1 and LMP2 cars as well as the GT1 and GT2 cars. All the cars I wish to be on GT5 are right here, Especially this one:
