So after the sound debacle at the start it actually turned into a fairly epic race. Snatching pole on my 1 lap with no tyre noise was slightly surprising I must say.

Got a pretty good launch despite getting some wheel-spin (quite hard to judge with no tyre noise ), pulled a little gap but was struggling for pace with no tyre noise and making too many mistakes, allowing @rcb929 to close up on me.

Then suddenly, @PatrisS136 DCs and Voila! Tyre noise! Immediately posted a 1:43.7 IIRC and started pulling out the gap slightly from there.

After around 30 laps or so my front tyres were still at 10, yet my rear were down to 8. I made an ineviatble mistake and clipped a barrier giving me light damage. Since I had a 1:30 lead over @GTracer98 I decided that I might as well pit for some fresh rubber and fix the damage. Came out and "holy cow", I had rear grip suddenly!

Set about trying to retake fastest lap from @Ettick who had snatched it after his pit-stop, managed a 1:42.4, .4 faster than my fastest in practice on full fuel, so there was potential for a touch more, but I was aware that heavy damage at the start of a lap could cost me my lead.

Turned my pace down slightly and immediately crashed. More light front damage, so just took it relatively easy to the finish.

Again, sorry to @Downhill Dino about the tunnel incident, the tighter line I was taking got the car out of shape and meant my braking into the chicane was compromised.

Closed up on @hsv at the end, but was starting to get a little bit of lag, so just kept my distance. Finally crossed the line for the win, utterly exhausted.

Great race everyone. Not an easy one this one.

If everyone else is going to do a race report, I might as well:
  • Got hit and received damage lap 1
  • Battled with hsv for a while as I adapted to the car (with damage)
  • Finally found speed and crashed a few laps later, pitted
  • Caught back up to like 10 sec or so behind hsv, thought I could pass him
  • Hit an invisible wall and pitted
  • Kept racing for 4th place points

I smashed my rear right suspension on the second corner on lap 1. Since my car was then pulling to the side, I decided to smash the front suspension too. And voila, I had no more steering issues! That's the realism of GT6!

I hit the other side of my front suspension and it gave me like -1.0 front toe and my car was undriveable :dopey:
it was by accident though

I remember doing that once, best idea ever.

I honestly don't recall an incident. Not sure what you're apologizing for but it's all cool anyways.

I was passing you through the tunnel but got sideways, then couldn't slow the car down enough into the chicane and got all sorts of crossed up. We didn't touch at all, but I must have slowed you down.
