I think Turbo is on that.
One of his posts said to "keep the comments" coming so I would think that he isn't the only one in contact with them. That's why I was asking what email address people are using.
I think Turbo is on that.

As everyone else, I was crushed upon hearing this news and my heart goes out to Patrick, who has clearly been through some very difficult times. I had the opportunity to speak with him several times at the Finals and I have no questions about the integrity of his character.I've asked Jordan to make this front page news on gtplanet. Hopefully he feels comfortable doing that as is will give the petition much more exposure.
He can then put all of this behind him, and focus on winning GT Academy next year. 👍 👍
So I just got some heart-breaking news from one of our very own. Patrick Crider (GTP_SohnVonStig), a.k.a. Racer-X has been deemed ineligible due to discretionary action that was originally allowed by Sony and Nissan. The ruling can be overturned at any time.
We all know he has worked extremely hard for this, just as the rest of the GT Academy Participants have and he deserves the chance to compete along them. If you can, please try to contact some Sony or Nissan representative and tell them that you want Patrick to compete in this year's GT Academy since he earned his spot in Silverstone. Or if you cannot do that, at least leave your support here on this thread.
If you want more info, please contact either Jett (Jett_Racer) or I and we'll inform you more in-depth of this entire situation. We'll be acting as Patrick's contacts to try to ramify this unfortunate event.
Sincerely,
Joey Alves (VELOCI_2NR)
If you can, please sign this petition if you wish for Patrick to get a shot at GT Academy.

Blaze_409I have two feelings about this. Pat's story is absolutely amazing and he pretty much dominated the Finals weekend. I signed the petition. Is there a way for this to go public without causing people to read articles like the one Jordan posted above?

However, I will not be posting this on GTPlanet's news blog for several reasons. From an objective point of view, he does appear to be ineligible for GT Academy 2012, having formally plead guilty to a felony. According to this local news article, the judge in his case does plan to dismiss the charges on Patrick's 21st birthday, November 4, 2012, assuming he has met the terms of the plea agreement. However, in yet another unfortunate circumstance for Patrick, that will obviously be too late to help him qualify for this year's competition.
A few of the terms in his plea agreement also make me extremely uncomfortable; as mentioned in the article above, the judge has ordered him to stay away from "social networking" websites. Depending on the judge's definition of a "social networking" website, Patrick's participation in this very community may be deemed in violation of his orders. I consider erasing his criminal record far more important than getting him back into GT Academy, and I believe that further publicizing this debacle is not in Patrick's best interest.
Finally, I think it is worth noting the Nissan & Sony representatives at the event were as excited as anyone about Patrick's story and how he made it into the competition. He is a charismatic underdog and introduced an exciting story line which I am sure they were looking to highlight on the television show this fall. If there was a way to keep him in the competition, anyone who could be appealed to has likely already expressed their support of him to whomever made the decision. Ultimately, they are respecting the rules of their competition, and we must acknowledge that.
My only concern for Patrick at the moment is that his record is formally cleared by the judge this November. He can then put all of this behind him, and focus on winning GT Academy next year. 👍 👍
You can't hide the truth. A simple google search and you can read the article Jordan linked. If they bend the rules for Patrick they'd have to bend the rules for everyone.
I wish Patrick all the best. 👍
I'm wondering about this... rules state that finalists (He is technically a finalist, right?) can not participate the next year (assuming these restrictions are to follow into 2013), so would they allow him to return? Or would they keep their word?

Its a heartbreaking story and all, but the guy really needs to concentrate on getting his life back together before doing anything else.
Would him making the finals of this contest and having a good shot at winning it not constitute a good example of him getting his life back together? The guy has done what he was told to get into a position where the charges could be dropped, and I think him going far in GT Academy could very well be a great example to show the judges just how far he has come. If anything, this contest could HELP him when it comes time to face the judge.
He deserves to go.
