I suggest you go and have a look through the wheel settings thread on RaceDepartment. FFB is very tweakable in R3E and the default is far too damped, but you can change that relatively easily. Vertical load and lateral force are the two key ones to alter to mix in more of the road surface and car weight transfer.
Thanks for the tip. Will check out RD threads for wheel settings. Are you using T500RS as well?

Most recently the T300, but tried the same settings on the T500.

This is approximately what I've been using on the T300:
Force Feedback Intensity 55%
Smoothing 0%
Steering Force Intensity 100% (I've not really tested this one, supposedly it could help tuning the rest)
Understeer 85% (this is how much the wheel lightens up during understeer, test with RWD and FWD, find compromise)
Vertical Load 200-250% (this offers the surface detail and car weight transfer feel, goes up to 400%, find a level which doesn't overload other forces)
Lateral Force 35% (this is key to having some wheel weight but not feeling like a hovercraft, so 0 is bad but so is 100+% to my mind. FWD cars might need higher values than RWD cars to feel good)
Steering Rack 0% (tried it, didn't find it worth having)
Engine vibrations 0% (horrible effect through a TM wheel, turn it off ASAP)
Brake vibrations 0% (didn't like this effect, too "sawtooth")
Kerb vibrations 25%
Shift effect 60%

For the T500 I've been using higher FF intensity (65% or so) to use more of the curve.

In the 2015 DTM Spring Cup, all the ‘DTM Experience 2014’ players have the chance of competing against the DTM aces. The first online qualifying race will be started as early as on 02nd March, 2015, with the DTM drivers at the wheel of their RaceRoom simulators also trying to set the fastest times on the leader board. And in the big final, on 12th April, 2015, the fastest drivers of the overall rankings will battle it out with the DTM aces live in a multi-player race. DTM drivers Timo Scheider, Bruno Spengler, Marco Wittmann, Martin Tomczyk, Timo Glock, Daniel Juncadella and Gary Paffett already have confirmed that they will take part and just as in the real races, they will fight hard for every single centimetre and fraction of a second. The authentic DTM simulation ‘DTM Experience 2014’ can be purchased as DLC for €24.95 at www.dtm-experience.com.

First round is at the Hockenheimring, been looking all over for a set up for the BMW M4 DTM, can't find any!

Gonna have to go through some trial n error...good luck to all those that enter!

Today it was my first day with RaceRoom officially. I did some test with key-board steering. But today I moved my pc to the bedroom where my simrig stays for playing gt6. Well, that was a warm surprise. So totally different then gt6.

Most time I spent today with a WTCC time trial competition with a Seat Leon on the Hungaroring.. Very nice and very fun to do. Then again, so different then GT6, but I think RaceRoom would make me a better and faster driver in gt6. Sadly I can't modify the seating position in gt6 (always been a spoiled kid). :indiff: :D

Competing against real DTM drivers in R3E ?, PD eat your heart out

I'll be joining the 'PC Master Race' sometime this month, but may not get to R3E until April (GSCE, then rF2, AC/P.CARS, then R3E is what I'm planning).

Regardless, that's a pretty cool thing for sim-racing in general. 👍

As for R3E, you get a few tracks, a few cars, can test drive any car, and can race in the monthly competitions all without spending a dime. I would start there then pick up GSCE as it's the best bang-for-the-buck.

Exactly the same what I've experienced the last 72 hours :D 👍

I had my first experience of racing a real racing driver last night.

Bruno Spenler was in a DTM 14 race at Hockenheimring, there was a grid of about 20 cars, Spengler qualified in pole, I qualified in 3rd...it was on!

I had never been so nervous or excited in a sim race before, knowing that I was going to race a real bonifide racing driver, knowing that he was siting in his sim rig just the same as I was and waiting for the lights to come on and go out was a real buzz!

I was wondering what hardware he was using while waiting for the lights to come on (I reckon probably Fanatec or high end gear!), then I started to wonder if he asks his real life race engineers for the set up for his virtual car... the lights came on one by one, I start revving the engine and all I can think about is 'don't hit him in turn one, don't hit him in turn one'...

The lights go out and we are off, all get a good start and I give P1 & P2 more room than I really needed to in turn one, just to be on the safe side...

I managed to keep up with Spengler and P2 until around turn 6, but they were just to quick for me...so was P4, P5 and P6!

Find myself in around P8/P9 then get a tap from behind at turn 9 and get spun, I wait for all to pass and rejoin in P19, I kept going for the duration of the race, just waiting to see Spengler in my rear veiw mirror coming to lap me but it never came, managed to finish the race without getting lapped and after a few player drop outs I ended up coming in P14.

Was not a great race for me but one of the most exciting, I wish I could have kept up with Spengler and given him a good race, maybe next time...more practice for me and maybe one day Bruno Spengler and Timo Glock will be telling their pit crew about some guy called PIP_36 who is just too fast for them!

R3E posted this on their Facebook page today:

I've had enough teasing of this Caddie. I wish it would just get released already. The one car i've been looking forward to the most.

40% discount on Indianapolis atm.. Got the track yesterday and its great!
New layout vs the one in gt6, And a reverse motogp layout for 2.5euros!

Great to drive with the daytona prototype!

Noob question.

I don't do PC gaming, much less PC driving Sims, so sorry if it's an obvious question. But if I want to race the current DTM cars, and those from the past few seasons, is that possible with "DTM Experience"? Or, what software title would I buy? Or is it a case of "Mods", something I've not been used to in gaming since the days of creating Doom WADs on a DX2/66.

I have a T500RS set up already for the PS3, but I'm coming round to the way of thinking that I might be prepared to stick a dedicated gaming PC downstairs in the main room alongside the PS3, as this PC, and my laptop barely run solitaire without slowing down

You can drive the DTM 2013, 2014 and 1992 in R3E. The newer ones are Experiences which mean you can do a full season like in real life :)

R3E is free2race and offers every time some nice competitions like the spring cup and many more in which you can participate without buying any content ;)

Use the "Competition" Button to switch between the Experiences :)

You can download R3E here: http://game.raceroom.com

And in Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/211500/

Oh wow... downloaded and installed, got to the track (finally)... and wow... I hadn't expected it to run particularly well on my standard desktop, but it was catastrophically bad! I could literally spin the car fully around in the time between frame refreshes. Time to decide, gaming PC or new camera lens!

Got DTM Experience 2014 today so gave Spring Cup competition a go. Just managed to get ahead of Timo Glock, seems I need to find out some secrets somehow on how to find a lot more speed, maybe can get into 1:29s with current setup but that seems I need to do like a great lap.

Ok...got a couple of "new guy" questions.

1-I have purchased DTM 92 and the European track pack about 5 days ago. I am able to race the new cars on my new tracks BUT I just found out that I should have track folders in my Simbin/Car setup folder so I can put car tunes/setups in but there aren't any.....there is nothing in my Car setup folders...Do I have to make these folders or do I have a bad download or something??

2-These "Experience Competitions" I keep reading about...What exactly is this??...If I have the content for these races do I just try to beat peoples times??...Hotlaping?? or are there certain times I can race real people?? I have looked in the Multiplayer but there are very few lobbies that have anybody in them..And if they are in them its only 2-3 people. Am I searching wrong??
