As you know, Jocke kicked this all off a while ago now
Hi guys.

Well even though I organised the 'Turnarounds' it would be wrong not to mention Wayne & MannY.
The idea of the Turnaround races has a funny backstory.

MannY and I also made a tutorial. I had fun being the test driver in that video.

MannY also included part of our first Turnaround race in one of his other videos (@ 2:57)

Turnaround results.

Another Turnaround race.

I also remember we had a Turnaround 'Midgets at Monaco' race planned.

That time ^ in the Darth Vader Club.

why have you got so few cars? Did you sell your Z8 collection?
I did yes. It was starting to become difficult keeping track of them all so I thought I'd start over.

Seriously 4270?
That's a lot of cars innit? :dopey:

Completely stock R8 Gordon Ramsay tonight?

EDIT: D'oh, yes, I have now read the first post. :dunce:

If these high gale force winds haven't managed to cut the power off, I shall also be there.
I've lit a few candles just in case but I don't think they'll power the PS3.

Perhaps I could suggest a quick test race beforehand Zo to get everyone up to speed with the turnaround idea?

Sorry @Zolon32 won't be racing tonight and I'm on hols next week so need to get cars set up and learn new track for Project car new championship, tonights the only free night really with everything else going on.
Look forward to joining you at the first opportunity.

Zo
Not sure I'll make it tonight.
Work and family issues.
However if it works out right I might get there between 2100 and 2130 hopefully.

Sorry about the curt farewell, I ejected the disc before I meant to! Good racing, pretty funny stuff. Ain't Brand Hatch a blast backwards?

Just wanted to say what a revelation the turnaround race was esp on brands and Monaco with the R8.
Apologies if I started wrong as I kept crossing the line at the start before turning round. I suddenly realised that upsets the lap timing!! Plus I think I had an advantage as I wasn't doing a reverse handbrake turn. :dunce::dopey:

Great racing again everyone.
Thanks to Jocke and Manny for the original idea. Made better by Zo using the R8 and tracks you don't normally race in reverse.

Yes!

That bit was someone else's suggestion Suts, and I'm ashamed to say I can't remember who, but it was brilliant. I'd like to do full Brands in something with a bit more poke, then there's Spa, Suzuka, loads of them.

Anyway, let's see who turns up next week.

Speaking of which, I'm away next week, so if anyone has a suggestion for a meet, then pop the details down, and I'll amend the first couple of posts accordingly.

Cheers, Zo.

@Zolon32 - here's that thread about setting the degrees of rotation on a G27/25

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/g27-g25-dfgt-undocumented-wheel-lock-settings-guide.286646/

The basics are that you press and hold in buttons 1 & 2.
Then you press the button you want from the selection below.
And then you release buttons 1 & 2

[1+2] + O = ~670°
[1+2] + S = ~450°
[1+2] + X = 900°- Resets to default
[1+2] + T = ~240°

This can be done at anytime from within GT6 (or any other game). When you exit the game the wheel recalibrates and resets.

I find the 670° setting actually quite good, it's like a fast rack. Suits race cars more than the standard 900°
450° is usable but twitchy until you get used to it. Good for drifting.
240° is a bit to much!

There's some that say it works on a dfgt also @buybon355. Possibly with a different button combination.

That's awesome Paul, cheers. I'll give it a go.

I can't believe it, I've had the damn thing since 2008!

Cheers, Zo.

Is there an event tonight?
Zolon's away this week so he won't be running one.

However if anyone's around this evening I might open up a lobby in the club. (I must really open one on other evenings too)
I maybe fancy developing @JockeP22 's VGT idea sometime in the future so it would be a good opportunity to try a few out.

For starters grab a Mini Clubman VGT and a VW Supersport VGT untuned with Sport Medium tyres. And we'll see where we go from there. I might stick with one track and try out different cars to see what everyone thinks of them.

I think I've got most of the VGT's - I'll have to check.

I may open a lobby for rally Spec testing tuesday or tommorrow, if everyone agrees, of course. :)
I don't think Zo or Jocke would mind Harsk. It's a communal club you're free to make any lobbies - providing it doesn't clash with the normal Tuesday slot.

I suppose we all should make use of that more often and open rooms and see who joins. It would probably be someone you know after all.

There's a sale on in the UK which includes wheels if anyone in interested.
Might save someone a few £.

Today is Tuesday, but tommorrow, the rally lobby will be open, so there won't be a conflict between this and the Comfort Club, Paul.

Anyways, I'll have to speak with Zo and Jocke because one of the rally days will be interfering with the Comfort Club.

Sorry for advertising. :(

I'll join tonight. The BINI Clubman VGT is bloody awful though. The Alpines are awesome. Subaru Viziv and Mitsubishi are OK too, IIRC. We all know the Mazda LM and Mercs are superb fun, if mentally fast.

Hello chaps. Thanks for looking after it on Tuesday Paul. I'll be updating post 1 in a little while, bloody dog's going mad at the front door in anticipation of his walk..............

Cheers, Zo.

Oh there was only just a few of us having a mess about with VGT's on one of Venari's tracks. Nothing serious.

I can recommend his tracks. Very good realistic layouts which flow nicely. Certainly worth considering for future races - there's a few in my custom tracks selection.

I'll be updating post 1 in a little while
Waiting in anticipation!

First two posts now updated people, if you want to have a look.

Flowsi has been made available through the GTP course creator thread and I've put it as a shared track, so anyone who wants to have a dabble with it should be able to get hold of a copy easily enough. Please rate it if you can spare the time, I'll look forward to some honest feedback :)

Cheers, Zo.

Flowsi - Good name. :)
I'll give it a go.

30 minutes of qualifying
Since that's quite a long time during which anyone entering late cannot join in. Could I suggest a practice/race setting with fastest first instead? That way somebody can join in at the last moment and it'll still give you grid positions.
