Room open for practice...for while anyway in RR club.

Edit: Closed. I thinks I got those off road parts.

that's ace Jocke, a remarkable likeness.
I thought as much. ; )
I don't think I've looked forward to a meeting quite as much as this for a while.
Yeah, it will certainly be something out of the ordinary.
Hmm perhaps a matte pink Mini is the way to go for this
special event.
I have done some years ago rallycross series same kind of off track driving and it was fun.
Was that in GT5 or GT6?
Now do I fit Rally or race suspension?
Why not old Mik's setup. ;)
Suggestions for future events.

Please feel free to lay bare your weirdest fantasies, either by an entry on the thread or PM to me.
Alright then, I've had this particular weird fantasy since the Comfort Club days but it never
quite materialised.

Formula Gran Turismo
Comfort Softs
Full ballast (200kg)
50% on the power limiter (with oil change)
Driving aids: ABS only

Body rigidity, suspension, transmission and drivetrain settings
will be individual depending on driver preference.

I remember it was interesting to test the FGT this way
last year and it kind of felt like a Formula Renault or GP2 car.
A lot different than Senna's popular F3 car in the game at least.
I think I had full downforce and ride height but I'm sure some
won't need that.
Weird enough, Zo?

I think that'll be a good way to follow up the Lupo racing Jocke. I remember testing a similar thing with a chap in the GBRC a while ago. We ran round Autumn Ring Mini with it and it seemed ridiculously suited. Thee again, we're at AR with the Lupos, so that probably won't be good. Definitely needs a tight course I think though, or perhaps not. We could do Willow Springs, make it a two track meeting, big and little?

Wadyafink?

Cheers, Zo.

Sadly it was only 4 rounds.

Sorry about the double post :dunce: but I don't know how to 'quote' in an edit, and I'd missed Jammy in my first.

Pity it folded Jammy, how did the full damage thing work out for people? I'm a bit of a fan of full damage, but wouldn't us it on anything as our very informal meetings.

Any lessons we might benefit from (from an organisational point of view) from your experience with Rallycross?

Cheers, Zo.

If you get damaged you just have to try to drive best you could or just stop as in real life if damage was that bad. We try to drive as clean as possible but some contacts happened.

It was fun and different :)
Track limits should be clear.

Yes, I need to give clear guidance on where conventional track limits apply and where they don't. I think we'll get that nailed pretty much straight away on Tuesday, then let battle commence!

Cheers, Zo.

I did some laps last night and there was couple of place that I wasn't quite sure how they should take or allowed to take. So yes let's go all together whole track limits through before we do racing.

Chaps, I was thinking about the pedigree that the good old Ford Escort has in Rallycross, and I took a spin in the Isuzu Bellet. I know that Fordistas will want to hang me for comparing the legend with something produced at the other side of the world, but the Bellet felt very good as an Escort substitute. Stripped down, with tall suspension and level 1 engine tune it's got 129BHP, weighs 845Kg and laps our Rallycross course in near identical times to the 108BHP Mini.

So, if you fancy bringing one along to mix it up a bit tonight feel free to do so.

Cheers, Zo.

Yeah was really fun - laugh a lot during the races and afterward
GT6 has few tracks that can be used this kind of off track racing. We just have to find them and plan how to use them.

Ha! - now I find this neat info vid. Nice job lads.

Next event seems interesting. I have done some years ago rallycross series same kind of off track driving and it was fun. I got to get my mini ready and learn those off track paths.

I used to do one at Big Willow in GT5, but could not get many people interested. Ascari is a good circuit for RalCross - good fun, and good to see more people giving it a go. Well done Zolon.

I'm glad you enjoyed it fellas, I certainly did. So much so that yesterday I had a look at Big Willow. It's got gap in the fence at he side of the start/finish straight where you can drive onto the infield and race around some obstacles there. It's brilliant!

Just for the purposes of contrast I tried a stock Lupo, and an Aventador with stock power, but race suspension at max height, centre diff at 45/55 and all weight stripped out. I know it sounds extreme, but it was superb, honestly; really easy to control, and with reasonable grunt to fly across the rough stuff.

Watch this space!

Cheers, Zo.

@tooma - Try to avoid multiple posting it's frowned upon and you don't want to bring about...

"The Wrath of the Moderators"

...if you can avoid it.

To reply to multiple people or to sections of a post use the +Quote button to add them to a que. An insert quotes button will appear below the edit window which you can then press to add them all to your message.

Oh and for the same reason, if yours is the last post in the thread and you want to add more text, use the edit function

👍

onto the infield
Isn't that the outfield? :sly:

Aventador! I suppose it does have 4wd. A Nissan GTR of some flavour might be quite good as well.

Oh heck Paul. Sorry for my breach of netiquette. Next time I'll try to scan ahead and plan my responses better - I don't want to strain any ones scrolling finger, which I admit, may impact on their driving skills at a later date, even possibly increasing stress levels, which just might make for even wackier racing on Tuesday nights. :)

Thanks for the practical info Paul - still learning my way around. As for "The Wrath of the Moderators", bring it on. I ain't scared of no bogey men. I was brought up on Irn Bru, and that stuff's made frae girders man.

At what time Will it be on the 20th and 27th?

20:30BST Lilum, which I think is the same as it is in Portugal, unlike the rest of the continent with their weird time zone things. The room is usually open about 20:00, but we wait until 20:30 before we start the racing.

A Nissan GTR of some flavour might be quite good as well.

I'll have a look at what PP levels them up Paul. (I can imagine us having a proper four week RallyX championship in the near future, given how much folks enjoyed it.)

Cheers, Zo.

Guys, I've confused myself with the time conversion. So after rechecking, I'll reach home around race start. If it was possible, I wouldn't mind Starting last, if you guys could wait a tiny bit for me to reach home on saturday. I'm normally home by **:34/43, depending on the metro.
Î'm really sorry for this

reach home on saturday

Lilium, if you're going to turn up on Saturday you'll be four days earlier than the rest of us, no problem about waiting. If that was a typo though, and you are meaning Tuesday, we don't mind waiting. The races will be quite short anyway, so even if one is under way when you arrive you won't have to wait long 👍

Cheers, Zo.

oh sorry, I was to post this on the 2h trial mountain

And has a suggestion for a rallyX car, why don't you guys try out a 4WD key car. they're fun as hell, going slowly fast
