The Dodge Charger Daytona and Plymouth Superbird were the first 2 cars in NASCAR that were able to reach 200mph

And now due to the use of Restrictor Plates, it's hard to hit those speeds at Talladega or Daytona. It's easiest at Pocono.

I never understood why they quit selling it here. I guess they figured the Escort/Contour/Focus filled that gap in the market.

I never understood it either, I love their european cars as much as I love their american cars. I personally think they missed a lot of opportunities. I would love to drive some of their hot hatches they made over those years.

I didn't literally mean "that guy" Can we get back on the topic I strayed off of?

Yes, if you can be more specific next time or make more sense. :P

Ford made a manufacture in the 80s called "Merkur" as an expansion idea to sell their German cars. Specifically; the Sierra and Scorpio. It didn't stick around that long (I think it would've if they actually just sold them as Fords like in Europe).

Except that most cars don't have fan belts anymore, they have serpentine belts. Panty hose won't hold up running a serpentine belt I don't think.

Electric fans don't require a belt.

I'm showing my age, man. :)

Shelby himself was involved in the early stages of the design of the viper. Not many people know that.

Not surprised. Shelby made a bunch of mopar's in the 80s-90s.

Makes perfect sense. Like what Custom878 said, Shelby was involved with Chrysler around that time period and there were some cool creations coming out of that team up. My favorite is the Shelby Dakota.

Please don't call me that.

Um, okay? Sorry, but why again? Isn't that your username?

Then what are we supposed to call you then? :odd:

Just don't refer to me by name.

Custom, if you don't want people to refer to you by your name, you're gonna have a bad time.

So do we call you "That guy"? You really should clarify.

Please don't call me Nick, Custom, or Tomoko (my avatar).

Are you serious?

Okay "That Guy", but I have to say one more thing. You CAN'T be serious!

Whatever you say Custom Nick Tomoko.

I didn't literally mean "that guy" Can we get back on the topic I strayed off of?

Okay, listen up, whatever-you-want-to-be-called:

It's okay to not want to be called by your first/last/whole name if you don't publish it here at GTPlanet. That's always been a guideline of ours.

It's not okay to make unreasonable demands of everyone else. You have a username, and people have to refer to you somehow, if they're quoting you, or mentioning something you said on a public message board. You got to choose the username, so don't blame us. You can change it if you want, by paying for Premium Membership, which gives you one name change per year, if so desired.

What we're not going to allow is for you to get a special set of rules, and allow you to run roughshod over everyone else for following the guidelines, because you have a problem with they way everyone else is doing things, and for they way we have handled things here for the past 12+ years.

Over and out, Custom878.

This is true, though with a V belt system I'm not sure I'd trust pantyhose anyways.

Thank you Mr.Moderator. We all thank you :dopey:

^^ Seeee? He's a more mature gentleman as well.

Mercedes-Benz sell the highest per capita AMG models in Australia.

Thanks for stepping in Pupik.

Also, sorry to be off subject, but thanks for making that GT2 website as well. The gameshark codes listed on there were a big help to me! 👍

The Honda Civics sold in the US are different compared to the European and Japanese spec Civics.

I apologize for being off topic. I just don't get why he couldn't simply quote what I said. I wasn't expecting a dozen replies from other people either.

I didn't see a point to quote you when I could just simply refer to your username.

Another fact, which is simple: Volkswagen owns Lamborghini, Porsche, Audi, and Bentley.

I sort of knew that but my respect for VW just went through the roof.

Cool. I always thought Porsche was owned by themselves...if that makes sense... Not owned by anyone else I guess.

Um, The Ford Mustang and Bronco both have a "II" counterpart. As in, there's a gen of both cars that were dubbed "Mustang II" and "Bronco II". I kinda hope Ford doesn't do that again with anymore of their cars.
