Ford Performance Vehicles F6X

fpv-f6x-1-big.jpg

Production: 2008 (600 expected, final production value was around 280)
Body Style: 5-Door 7-Seat SUV
Based on: Ford Territory Ghia Turbo AWD (BF Ford Falcon underpinnings)
Engine: Barra 270 turbocharged 4.0L straight-six
Layout: Front-engine, all-wheel-drive (62/38 rear/front torque split)
Transmission: 6-speed ZF automatic
Power: 270kW/362hp
Torque: 550Nm/406lb-ft @2000-4250rpm
Weight: 2125kg/4685lb
Performance: 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in 5.9sec, 1/4 mile N/A
Economy: 14.7L/100km combined (16mpg US) :D

Bad timing, limited differentiation and a significantly ramped up price from the standard SY Ford Territory meant the F6X was a rather significant flop, and would probably get the gong for "super-SUV that no-one's heard of." Chipping in at a time when the fuel prices were soaring and the sales of the Territory and Falcon were starting to lower, the F6X was very quickly killed off with the introduction of the SY Series II Territory.

I really think the queue should be limited to 15. That backlog is huge and it takes 3 months for a car at the bottom to get polled.

Then it becomes a huge pain in the ass to submit a car for polling

I fail to see how.

Poll what's left down to 15 and then follow the same procedure as we are using now. Something needs to be done because several months for one car is unacceptable in my opinion. Several threads are already made a week and we'd get through a lot more cars with a smaller backlog.

We get a new thread every other day, I don't see how there's a problem.

I don't see a problem with how the nominations are being done right now.

Whether the list is 15 cars long or 100 cars long, in reality, the list will end up being more-or-less the same, and cars will take more-or-less the same amount of time to get to voting. If you limit the list to 15 cars, then as soon as a spot opens up, everyone will just scramble to get their nomination in to get that coveted spot. Everyone else will still have the car they want to nominate, and they will now then fight for the next open spot. Assuming that everyone has an equal chance of nominating a car in that last of the 15 spots, it will still take 2 months to go through all that everyone wants to nominate. Limiting the nomination list to 15 spots will just simply push all the remaining desired nominations offline and hidden. The backlog will still be there.

The assumption that people have an equal chance doesn't even work in reality. We all know that some people are on here way more than others.

If anything, the current format is also more transparent. People can now look and see whether a car is nominated or not already, thus possibly reducing duplicate entries. It also makes it more fair for those who aren't here all the time, allowing them to nominate a car and have a spot in line, knowing that it will eventually get to them.

Eaxctly. Nominations are staying on the current process for now.

You may want to check how the nomination process actually works before you make a nomination, Corvette.

Just saying.

The rules are at the start of the thread, and there are plenty of examples.

I saw them I wasn't making a serious nomination and if I was, it be a more unique car like what MFT showed. I know how to operate on the threads, just saying.

You might as well nominate the shed it was built in, since neither are capable of being driven and almost certainly never will be.

850hp stock car, that's pretty cool.

Especially when they take it to a road course. Inside front wheel lift is cool.

Let me guess, twin turbo LSX?

Seriously, how the hell do you get 5,000 horsepowers out of something that isn't a nitromethane dragster?

Vapourware.

I saw a quad turbo Ford 460 engine that ran on pump gas and made 3,500 horsepower. By that point though, its all adtermarkrt parts. With 2 engines it should be pretty easy.

Shouldn't nominations be actual cars, though? That thing's just a non-functioning model on a stand (and is likely to stay that way).
