Peugeot 406 Coupe V6 1997–2003

The one I used to have

Although it was called a Peugeot, the 406 Coupe was designed and built in Italy by Pininfarina and it is one of the nicest shapes to appear on the roads.

From 97-00 the stats were as follows.

2946cc V6
194 bhp at 5500rpm
197 lb/ft at 4000rpm
146mph
0-60 - 7.6
Length - 4615 mm
Width - 1780 mm
Height - 1354 mm
Weight - 1458 kg

From '00-'03 it gained 16bhp to reach 210bhp and top speed went up to 149mph, and 0-60 went down by a 0.1 to 7.5. There were very few changes between the D8 (97-00) and the D9 (00-03) so it was pretty much the same model all the way through.

There are some pretty cool American cars with V6s, like the base 2010 Camaro...

You said you'd be good and get back on topic then immediately go off topic again. The thread is for nominations only and questions about nominations. Save your opinion of the car for the dedicated thread.

Anyway, I'm curious as to the exact definition of "car" being used by the rules. Is a Lorry ever eligible for nomination? Is a motorcycle?

Hmm... I'm not sure how to put it. In my mind, it has been a term used for any personal motor vehicle that carries passengers, but that could be anything couldn't it. So many good questions that I can't answer.

Aside from that, Nominating a tractor/lorry/truck/rig or a motorcycle may be a stretch. Lot me think about it all and I'll get back to you.

Sorry daan, it's been done.

Im not sure how this nomination thread works but..

How's about something like a
2005 Lotus Exige or something?

It seems like an interesting car but I think it would actually be a good debate as to whether or not it's cool as it does have quite a few drawbacks.

Just my suggestion but I'm sure there's better ones :)

Hows about this:

2006 Lotus Exige Cup 240

Engine: Roots supercharged 1.8 I4
Horsepower: 243 HP
Torque: 174 LB ft. Torque

Weight: 930 KG/2050 LBS

Top speed: 155 MPH
0-60: 4.4s
0-100: 11.3s

Using the app so it's sorta hard to post pictures, sorry.

That will work. A link to a/the source would help, if you could get it.

Much obliged, Kin.

I think I have a starting point for defining "car" for the wall.......but as I type it, it sounds absolutely idiotic. 🤬

@hsv010: You're nomination(s) were lost in the clutter for a bit, and I apologize. I will take the Dacia as you had stats for it, but a link would be nice, and rejecting the MINI. I can't go by HP alone on here.

@Roger: I've spent the last week trying to give you an answer for the definition of 'car'. Problem is, I can't give you a concrete definition. All I can tell you is that I go by what has generally been accepted as and/or been referred to as a car. Cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, stuff you could walk onto a car lot and drive off in without much fuss. Good? No, but I've got less than nothing here.

What makes this one so much different from the rest of the generation? All I can see is a different grille and some different wheels, everything else looks close.

I'm taking the next slot on the Nominations behind this.

It isn't too different from the older model years. It's a facelift with new front and rear fascias (new front and taillights, new grille, and more snazzy trim) that freshen up an an aging design as part of a strategy to make the Odyssey more upmarket. You can include the previous model years if you feel like it - the specs are essentially the same. I just chose this model year range because this is Honda's current offering.
