@GranTurismo916 I hope this is sufficient information. I've struggled to get that information which included burying into my brain for flashbacks of when we had ours back in 2000.

Another thing of note for the A2 was that it was the first vehicle for sale in Europe that had an average fuel consumption of over 90MPG (94.2MPG to be exact, 78.4 MPG US). Although this only applied to the diesel version which also had stop/start technology, automatic gearbox, less power and narrower tyres.

1996-2004 Lotus Esprit V8
DSC_3393-1200x802.jpg

Engine:
3.5 L Type 918 turbo V8
Power: 350 hp
Torque: 295 lb-ft
Weight: 1380 kg (base, SE, GT), 1300 kg (Sport 350)
Transmission: 5-speed manual Renault UN-1
Drivetrain: Mid-engine, rear wheel drive
Body Styles: 2-door coupe
Other info: Was supposed to have a potential 500 horsepower, but detuned to 350 due to the fragility of the Renault transmission. The V8 range was split in 1998 into the SE and GT. The ultimate incarnation, the Sport 350 was introduced in 1999. Only 50 were made. Thereafter, Lotus made little development aside from minor cosmetic changes including a switch to four round tail lights for the 2002 model year. Esprit production ceased in February 2004 after a 28 year production run.

Ok, after polling the Samurai (which suffered due to its racing car status, but still did decently well), and the Muji, which is doing surprisingly good considering the agressive uncool responses to other similar average cars in the Wall recently, now it's finally the time to bring forth the car which I was going to nominate the first time around;

1965-1967 Hino Contessa 1300 Coupe

Contessa1300_31.jpg

Body Style: 2-door coupe
Engine: 1,251 cc GR100 naturally-aspirated inline-4 engine

Transmission: 4-speed manual transmission
Drivetrain: Rear engined, rear wheel drive car
Additional Information: The coupe variant of the second generation Hino Contessa, and one of Hino's last road cars before the brand's purchase by Toyota, which in turn led to Hino shifting their focus towards truck manufacturing. Design comes from Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti, also responsible for the Triumph Herald and Stag, along many others. In racing, Australian driver Pete "King of the Mountain" Brock sucessfully raced a 1300 Coupe towards a victory in the Mission Bell 100, at the Riverside Raceway in North America. Teammate Bob Durham followed suit in 2nd place, giving the BRE Hino Coupes a 1-2 victory. The 1300 Coupe's engine was then used for Brock's Hino prototype, my first Cool Wall nomination, the BRE Hino Samurai.

EDIT: For context on the below posts, my original nomination was the first-gen Fairlady Z. Also, @Niku Driver HC posted his nomination before I finished this one, so he should be ahead of me in the queue.

I haven't seen it on the nomination queue, nor have I seen it in the results thread.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it in the results thread under Nissan/Datsun Z. My apologies.

Alright, time to go for another nomination. I was going to elect the Lancia Thema 8.32, but since that has already been polled (and was involved in quite the arguments back then), I'll go for this other Italian car instead:

1971-1977 Fiat 130 Coupe
73-Fiat-130-Coupe-fr.jpg

Body Style: 2-door coupé
Engine: 3235cc, naturally-aspirated "130 type B" V6 engine
Power Output: 165 bhp @ 5600 rpm
Torque: 249 N·m (184 lb·ft/25.4 kgm) @ 3400 rpm
Weight: 1555kg (1600kg with automatic transmission)
Transmission: 3-speed automatic gearbox, with a 5-speed manual available as an option
Drivetrain: Front-mounted-engine, rear-wheel-drive.
Additional Information: The coupe variant of the rather unsuccessful Fiat 130 sedan, the 130 Coupe was a brand-new design based on the 130 platform, commissioned to the Pininfarina design house (and presumably designed by Paolo Martin). The entire interior and dashboard were also redesigned, now featuring wooden veneer, a row of switches and soft illumination with the help of fibre optics. Capable of hitting 195 km/h (121 mph), an 130 Coupe was once owned by one Enzo Ferrari, who used the car for long-distance trips. Some of the changes that the Coupe introduced were later added to the 130 Sedan, including the steering column, dashboard, central console and the ventilation. Two other variants were created for the car but were rejected by Fiat; the 4-door Opera saloon and the 2-door Maremma estate, which are not considered as part of the nomination.

1995-1999 Vector M12

1996-vector-aeromotive-m1-7-1_600x0w.jpg

Engine: 5.7L Lamborghini V12
Power: 499hp
Torque: 425 lb/ft
Weight: 3,600lbs / 1,600kg
Transmission: 5-speed manual
Drivetrain: Mid-engined, rear drive

Additional Information: An American Lamborghini Diablo. 17 cars were produced during a period of corporate turmoil for Vector. It was given the M prefix in deference to then parent company Megatech, as opposed to the W prefix of company founder Gerry Wiegert. Of the seventeen produced, sixteen were road cars and one was a race car. Fifteen road cars are left and the race car was refitted into a Vector SRV8.

Austin Maestro (1983 - 1995)
1.3 Petrol, 1.6 Petrol and 2.0 Diesel Models only

1 Maestro 001.jpg

Body Style: 5 door hatchback
Engine: all engines were inline 4 cylinders. 1.3 A Plus at 1275cc, R & S series 1.6 at 1598cc, 2.0 L series at 1994cc
Power Output: 1.3 - 68 hp at 5800 rpm, 1.6 - 86 hp. 2.0 Diesel - 60 hp
Torque: 1.3 - 75 lb ft, 1.6 - 91 lb ft, 2.0 Diesel - 89 lb ft
Weight: 945 kg for the 1.3 HLE, 1000 kg for the 1.6, 1092 for the Diesel
Transmission: 4 or 5 speed manual
Drivetrain: Front engine and front wheel drive

Additional Information: After the relative success of the Metro, British Leyland urgently needed a replacement to take on the GM Astra/Kadett and the Fwd Ford Escort. The voice synthesis warning and information system in the higher spec models had a talking dashboard, the gender varied depending on which country the car was sold in. However the 1.3 A Plus engine was originally from the early 1950s (if not earlier!). The R-series was a modified version of the E-series engine seen in the Allegro and Maxi. Later on cars were produced in Bulgaria, and versions are still in production in China.

Just over 600,000 were sold in UK, however by 2006 it is believed that only 11,000 had survived.

A late model Diesel shown in the picture above, with oversized wheels!

Prediction: the least cool car of all-time?

1971-1975 BMW 3.0 CS (E9)
7.jpg

Engines:
3.0L Twin-Carb I6, 3.0L Fuel Injected I6, 3.2L I6
Power: 3.0 Twin-Carb: 180 hp; 3.0 FI I6: 200 hp; 3.2: 203 hp
Torque: 3.0 Twin-Carb: 185 lb-ft.; 3.0 FI I6: 200 lb-ft.; 3.2: 211 lb-ft.
Weight: 1420 kg
Transmission: 4-speed manual, 3-speed automatic
Drivetrain: Front engine, rear wheel drive
Body Styles: 2-door coupe
Additional Info: "The 2800CS was replaced by the 3.0CS and 3.0CSi in 1971. The engine had been bored out to give a displacement of 2,986 cc (182.2 cu in), and was offered with a 9.0:1 compression ratio, twin carburettors, and 180 horsepower (130 kW) at 6000 revolutions per minute in the 3.0CS or a 9.5:1 compression ratio, Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection, and 200 horsepower (150 kW) at 5500 revolutions per minute in the 3.0CSi.

Introduced in May 1972, the 3.0CSL was a homologation special built to make the car eligible for racing in the European Touring Car Championship. The "L" in the designation meant leicht (light), unlike in other BMW designations, where it meant lang (long). The lightness was achieved by using thinner steel to build the unit body, deleting the trim and soundproofing, using aluminium alloy doors, bonnets, and boot lids, and using Perspex side windows. The five hundred 3.0CSLs exported to the United Kingdom were not quite as light as the others, as the importer had insisted on retaining the soundproofing, electric windows, and stock E9 bumpers on these cars."
