I gotta get my AR15 lower before these brilliant laws in Cali kick in next yr :boggled:
How do these states get away with this crap.
I know, right :banghead:
Anyways, I got it and don't have to register it :D Busy busy at the gun shop, DROS' left and right

How accurate was it?

Well, I cant really say that it was very accurate or not since this was my 2nd time shooting a gun, and probably 2nd time holding a 617. I can however say that my groupings were closer together than my first time, and there were a few that I thought were rather good.

This is all on double action BTW

I gotta say this is one fine looking pistol, wow. Smooooth.....

Anyway, yesterday I came across a German site that builds and sells real working original size cannons and now I wish I had 1400 spare bucks. They build a so called ''Hakenbüchse'' (hook gun) in 27mm bore diameter with a matchlock ignition that weighs 35Kg, is 2 meters long and shoots 1800 grain heavy round balls. (Thats four time as heavy as the regular shotgun slug)

That gun was used during the 1450's to dispatch cannon crews behind light cover at long distances, kind of like an early anti material rifle. Even though they were smooth bore they were quite accurate out to several hundred yards. The distinctive hook is meant to be placed in front of a sturdy wall to absorb the recoil that would otherwise seriously hurt the shooter.

Although I will soon be in the market for a single stack 9mm, I don't think I would be an early adopter. That goes for basically every gun ever. I don't like dealing with teething issues and recalls.

It's a hundred-year-old design though. Can't have too many things go wrong with it.

It's not designs that worry me, it's the little stuff. Remington says they modernized the design and added stuff. That's where things go wrong. Look at the early Gen 4 Glocks and that recent issue with the Shield's trigger. We've been making guns like that consistently for the past 30 years but the small changes lead to issues.

^^ And aside from their recent version of the 1911, which is pretty mediocre, Remington isn't exactly a big time pistol manufacturer. I hope it ends up being a great gun, but I wouldn't want one for the first year or so either.
Word. Nice to see somebody who has the same feelings I do.

Remington is a good company, but not a great one. But, it's nice to see them gettting back into making pistols and maybe one day revolvers.

If you want a Walther PPQ, get one! Even if you have to start saving your pennies to do it.

Big thumbs up for Remington on the new pistol, but I am right about where rest of you are at on the new gun. It's sexy, bringing back old school, low MSRP's sexy......... reliability? Like Z-Man noted, if it has "improved" design & new parts, I think the proven design needs to be proven again. Since Omnis has been very patient with his search, my tip to you would be that there can be some risk involved with this manufacturer. Personally, I wouldn't touch it until I read about a hundred reviews.

Again though, I really like the price, caliber, and the pistol look sweet. I do wish it was little bit smaller for super easy carry.

And I don't doubt that....... WHERE DO YOU FIND THIS STUFF!

When I'm bored and browsing the Internet I always find tons of creative ways to waste my money. Its a like a curse! :scared::lol:
Definitely creative, definitely outside the box. Much props to your approach, and by god, we learn from it! :D:tup:

Standard AR-15 milspec triggers usually pull around 7 or 8 pounds. Timney has a 3 pound version too but I think that might be a bit too light for my uses.
Awesome. Good luck with the new trigger. 👍 God, that Sig......

Tactical 12ga. Pistol for backup.

I was thinking something along the lines of a shotgun. I'm not the usual supporter of weapons (I don't mind them) but **** like this makes me want to tell my parents to get something for their protection. The idiot robbers stole some of their Xbox consoles and three t.vs. They were caught trying to find another house.
