Maybe it's one of those mini 1911s? I've seen a video and it looks like the size of a hand.

Come on, guys. That is so page 131:

I do wish it was little bit smaller

:P

For lower capacity single stack 9mm, I'm sure it's thin, but it did seem long to me(from the videos Omnis posted).

I agree with all the sentiments above, the R51 does seem big, (mostly long grip).

The Shield grip ends right between my ring and pinky finger, and I have fairly small hands. The second picture above has the guy fully able to wrap his hands around the R51 grip. Searching online, it looks like the R51 will carry 7 rounds, same as the standard Shield with what looks to be a shorter grip.

The Shield also comes with an extended mag that looks like essentially makes it the length of the R51, and that thing will carry 8 rounds.

Edit: I'm pretty interested in trying out the new Sig P320. I'll like to try how it feels and how it shoots.

Wow, somebody mentioned a Coonan. I haven't read about them in decades. It was very poplular in its day, early 80
s.

Now, how long before somebody mentions a Wildey 475?

Hey, I just did! :D

To me the Coonan is kind of a novelty gun. I think considering the cost, and cost of ammo (still hard to even find 357 mag right now), I'd just go with a regular 1911 instead, but to each their own.

So Sig officially announced the P320 now so the web page is active. Looks like the MSRP on both is just over $700. The frame looks pretty much the exact same as the P250 but the slide is difinitely unique. Can't wait to see how the trigger feels compared to the DAK on the 250s I've used.

So I read on TTAG that this 320 is basically the same as the 250, only with a striker firing group. All other interchangeable bits are compatible. That's really swell.

I learn something new...
RSh-12 - the "assault revolver" developed for special forces (Spetsnaz). Believed to be the world's most powerful revolver pistol.
8612133.jpg

Can be equipped with a suppressor, folding stock and attachments on the Picatinny rails (tactical light, foregrip, laser sight, etc).

Cartridge: 12.7x55mm PS-12 (various versions - duplex PD-12, armor-piercing PS-12B, etc.)
Drum capacity: 5
Weight (empty): 2.2 kg
Length, mm:
357 (no suppressor & stock)
462 (no suppressor, folded stock)
679 (no suppressor, extended stock)
830 (with suppressor and extended stock)
Barrel length: approx. 250 mm
Effective range: approx. 300 m

An extremely rare gun, adopted only by elite Spetsnaz forces (FSB and GRU). Most detailed info about it is classified.

Dad's muzzle loaded pistol split his hand open....

...he's not exactly what you'd call weak either...

I have found that there is a gun store around here, I might actually become a gun owner sometime in the near future. :D

You should find people around you who are familiar with guns, learn as much as you can about not just the firearms, but also storage, where to shoot, maintenance, etc. There's so much to learn at first!

It's not that my knowledge is limited, I've just never owned any.

I did come close to purchasing a Makarov last year, then my friend bought it the next day just to piss me off. He did let me shoot it first though, nice little handgun.

Ah, very cool. I hope you find a good one then. 👍

A Sergeant at work makes holsters as well and he made one for my HK P7. I love the way it turned out.

I carry a Glock 35 as my duty weapon and generally carry it off duty as well but this HK P7 is a whole lot more comfortable and easy to conceal, plus it shoots awesome. I love this gun.
