I've never been that lucky unless it's a smaller shop and I've known the owners personally.
MSRP, or above MSRP is something I'm not familiar with. I haven't shopped in awhile, but even when it's an hot item, I don't think it'll go above MSRP in my area. Of course, you may have to wait few weeks until they get more shipment in.

Online, I bought from Bud's once & their pricing seems to be little bit lower than local stores(even after FFL).

Got my vintage double barrel! :dopey:

Took it apart and cleaned it, it was dirty and neglected, that poor thing. Also did the stock as it was scratched and had a terrible lacquer finish.
Its a really good shotgun, points and swings very well, the quality is better than anything thats out there nowadays, and for the lack of a better word - its more elegant than modern guns. If you shoulder this shotgun and then switch to a modern double barrel it feels edgy and clunky like you're holding a 2x4. Its kind of hard to describe.

Also the stock is not yet finished, I'm going to need several more oil coatings till the finish gets really shiny and beautiful. - But each layer has to dry 1-2 days before I can apply a new one.-

Anyway, pics!

Are those high brass shells you got in there?

Very high brass, so high they're completely brass.:D I use them because they are periodically correct. Back when this shotgun was made there were paper hulls and brass shells. No plastics.

I've heard that high/full brass shotgun shells pack quite a punch.

@Michael88 Another beautiful stock restoration! Very cool gun.
Thanks! This was a tricky one, a lot of metal parts inletted into the wood. There is always the risk of removing so much wood that those parts end up sticking out - thats THE most amateurish thing you can do when reworking stocks, right after sanding sharp edges till they're round.
But you also have to remove enough to give it a new finish. And there is very weak areas in the wood, especially around the locks. Chips easily.

Its not easy but so rewarding!

****ing understatement.
KEK

Also, I've made some #3 Buckshot today. I love this shot size, its my favorite.

I've been using my new holster for the last couple of days and I love it. Very comfortable and my Glock 43 just disappears under just about anything, even a t-shirt.

I think I'll be purchasing a Gen 4 Glock 19 next.

I made a trip to the range yesterday with the girlfriend. She had never been shooting before and I had been telling her I would take her. I started her out with my Ruger 10/22 Takedown. After a bit of adjusting--it had needed it for a while and I had not gotten around to doing it--the red dot on the rifle, she was ringing steel at 25 yards with ease. She seemed to really enjoy shooting the 10/22 on steel. At one point, she was putting two shots into a target, move to the next one, and repeat until the 25 round magazine was empty.

After the 10/22, we moved onto pistols. She shot both my Walther PPQ and H&K VP9. I should have started her on paper at about seven yards, but we stuck at the 25 yard steel targets. She had some trouble with both pistols. I really wished I would have had a .22LR and could have started her with that. It would have been much better than either of my polymer framed nines.

After some 9mm pistol shooting, we briefly went over to the long range and took some shots with the Tavor. I took a couple quick shots to make sure the red dot was still mostly zeroed. She put her first round on the gong at 200 yards. She did pretty well with the other handful of shots she took with the Tavor. Between the two of us, we only shot 30 rounds of 5.56 because it was getting close to dawn, windy, and feeling on the cool side.

If anyone could grab an AMT Hardballer and disable it I'd love to buy it. Laws in my country (Norway) says you need to be in a gun club to own your own gun. And I only want it as a display gun. Hitman fan. Love the look of the AMT Hardballer. And NO. DON'T SAY BUY A COLT 1911 AND MOD IT. I want an AMT. :P

I smell Federal Prison..... :P

I saw Gen 4 Glock 23 today. Sexy gun. I think it was $539(+$10 background check). If I conceal carried, it'd be the first gun I'd consider right now. *Never mind. Read rumor .40's high pressure & more likely to kaboom. No thank you. :nervous:

Isn't that an ancient rumor back from the times when the first 40 Glock's didn't have properly supported chambers?
Glocks in .40 are general issue Police pistols now, and used in many competitions.

From what I read, it was in regards to the Gen 2(currently Gen 4). I liked the Glock 23 before, because after my HK USP explosion, I saw some Glock comparison pic showing how 23 chamber was more fully seated?

Googling this again last night, I read some pointing out how .40 was higher pressure load, also saw pics of the newer Gen 3 in pieces, though I realize it's hardly scientific. Glocks sell in extreme high volume. :D

I also wanted something hotter than 9mm, but 9 is also likely the most common handgun round in the U.S.? Glock 19(9mm), which looks lot Like the 23 might be the way to go.... Just thinking outloud. :dopey:

Have you ever considered getting a Desert Eagle?

If you look past all the TV cliché and video game stuff its actually a pretty darn good handgun for what it is.
And I'm not talking about the .50AE model here, I'm talking about the 44 magnum.

I've shot a friends Desert eagle multiple times and it was just wonderful. HOT .44 magnum loads with a soft slow recoil that allows fast follow up shots, glass smooth action, extreme accuracy and surprisingly good ergonomics.
Also I think its pretty good looking and with my arms and size its not really that big at all! :dopey:

I'm a total GLOCK fan (I'm an Austrian after all) but I have to say, if you want some power, affordable ammo in a fun package you do not intend to carry the Desert Eagle is a viable option.

The desert eagle is the muscle car in the world of pistols, the Glock is an indestructible reliable little 4x4.

Man, now I want one.

I shot a .44 DE once. Heavy as all heck and hard to aim.

It didn't feel heavy in my hands, but neither do 500lbs barbells so maybe I'm not the best person to judge about the weight of firearms. :P

It pointed really well for me though.

Just look at it. And right now, I'm only looking at carry pistol for concealed carry permit I don't have yet. :P I am happy with. 45ACP for the full time shooting. :D

First clip in this video is me and the .44 DE. I'd post the rest of my gun videos but I don't want to max out my media per post thing.

I would lean toward the Glock 19. I am not much of a .40 S&W fan. When .40 S&W was introduced, it served a purpose. Now, it is a round without much purpose.

Modern 9mm hollow point are going to deliver comparable performance. Shot placement is going to be more important than a slightly larger bullet. Plus with 9mm, there is less recoil and higher magazine capacity.

Just in time for Thanksgiving, 1000 rounds of 9mm. I'll probably be going through a decent chunk of it tomorrow at my grandfather's farm.

This can not be the same Brett who was in the Call of Duty [GTP] Clan with me. spray&pray lol <<<this is a joke

Even more reason for me to have stuff with more rounds available.

What are you going to be shooting?

I have pretty much got my mind set on buying a Ruger Mark IV. However, I cannot decide if I want the Target or Hunter model. I also have started to more seriously consider picking up a 1911, want to buy an AR-15, and some kind of bolt gun. There are too many things I want and not enough money.

Don't cry, you are stud!

Man, I agree with all of these things. :P My friend had old school Mark(III?) pistol with bull barrel? Nice looking gun. Looked like the "Target" model, but blued. How much do these Mark IV go for?

Never mind.

Stainless looks amazing, but jesus, the price!

That is MSRP. Actual street price is lower. On the blued model, Academy has them for $450. Online retailers are even less.

Yeah, I really want a Hunter, but the price with that fluted barrel is crazy. Maybe I'll wait till they pump out a few million of them first lol.

I've had good experiences with Rugers before. A Mk.3 was the third gun I shot in my life, and it was such an easy pistol to use. Could've rapid-fired it and not missed my target if I wanted to.

Speaking of difficulty of usage...Don't use a UTS-15 unless you have experience:
I didn't have any experience with shotguns and opted to use a low brass round. My face at the start says it all.
