Oh.

It's bulky. If I'm wearing a baggy clothes, I guess I can do that. I like to wear tight/athletic fitting clothes too though.

I don't even have citizenship yet, so let's not get carried away. I'm so damn lazy.

Don't buy a Kahr... http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2011/09/16/who-owns-kahr-arms/

Get this instead... http://www.the-m-factor.com/html/specs_11.html

Wow, I did not see that coming about Kahr. I just hope they that they are the good half of the South Koreans who doesn't actually want us Japanese dead.

I'm not totally sold on XDs, but it'll be long time yet, before I start shopping for .45 compact. :)

I'm not an XD XM fan myself. I did some shopping for a compact .45 a while back and I never found one I liked. Well, I did find one, a custom 'stealth .45' made by a local gunsmith. But he wanted WAY too much for it.

Let me know when you find something interesting. I could always use a compact .45! :)

Boy, that is a cool looking pistol, but it would be too small for me, considering the kick of the .45ACP. Another reason why I like Glock 36 for its' skinnier grip(it has a single stack magazine).

That's looking pretty good. Isn't .45+P a bit of a cannon for defensive use?

Also according to the author of the Kahr article...
It does not matter to me if a religion, foreigner or government owns a gun company. It does matter to me if a gun company claims to be one thing, for example American owned, but is not. That is why I wrote this article. In the case of Kahr, I am satisfied that it is American owned.

I've shot one in 9mm and I liked it quite a lot. It's a good gun at a good price point that's made in America.

They also own Magnum Research. Maybe you can get a discount on that Desert Eagle you know you want. :sly:

Edit:

Or even this.

Kahr: Sounds like a technicality to me. I could be an American, this time next year(let's not hold our breath lol). Technically, I would be an American. Would I cease being Japanese because my paperwork changed? I can tell you that personally, I think part of me will always remain Japanese. My obligation would be to the United States, but you know what I'm saying! :P I'm not arguing the point, but I'm just saying that it does make difference to me, personally. Also, I don't like any cult churches, and I don't care where it might be based in!

Glock 36: Sorry Solid. It lacks the rail, completely. :dopey:

My CRDC laser is pre-rail. It attaches around the trigger guard and clamps down with allen screws and a large ball bearing. Not sure if Glock uses the same exact trigger guard size or not. I doubt it.

What the..... I didn't know such thing existed. Good to know!

I bought it when I got my Glock 21. This was back in '93-'94 sometime.
I almost bought a Gen 2 Glock 17 from somebody at my work for $400(too HIGH!) for my first handgun. Would 93/94 been Gen 2 then? I much preferred the Gen 3, but Gen 2 looked pretty nice, just less tacticool. :P

Bah. I can't get good accuracy with my 44 lever, its extremely frustrating.
At 50 yds I usually shoot thumb sized groups with most of my rifles using open sights but with my lever rifle its more like basketball-sized groups. I get better groups with my smoothbore shotgun shooting slugs at the same distance.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, the sights are good and it doesn't matter if I shoot commercial ammo or reloaded ammo, both are equally inaccurate.Tried .429 and .430's, both give me crap groups, tried 240 and 300 grainers, weight doesn't matter - still crappy groups.

I almost wanted to throw the rifle into the trash can but then I shot an acceptable 1'' group with Winchester White Box .44mag. Unfortunately I forgot to keep a round to disassemble it and learn its secrets. :ouch: (I bet it was loaded with magic pixie dust and the projectile was cut from a unicorns horn -That would explain why it was so outrageously expensive. )

Oh, and the ammo can't be imported anymore. Great.

What lever action do you have? Make and model.

Own an AR15 and currently searching for my first pistol. I have shot everything from 9mm to AT4. Love it!

I don't know what AT4 is, but good luck on your search. 👍 Post a picture for us when you buy one. :)

Let's see the AR!

An AT4 is a single shot anti-tank weapon. He means to say that he was a armed service member.

AT-4, of course! They were OK with Danger Close perk, though RPG was more fun[/callofdutynerd]. :P

How about your AR, Z-Man? I don't think I ever saw a pic of it. :D

I will take a picture this weekend and try and post it up.

Wasnt exactly what I was going for but I guess I did give it away a little bit.

That's "84" not AT-4! ;)

The military can be so silly, at times. :)

I posted this back in May. The only changes that have been external have been the addition of some polymer sections on the hand guard, an ambidextrous charging handle, and some PMAGs. The internal changes have been a new spring and buffer weight. I'm going to grab an adjustable gas block too.

I'll post some more pictures this next weekend and then again sometime later when I finally decide to put some glass on it.

Here's the charging handle. It's pretty cool. They're making a .308 version. You should look into it. It feels much more solid than the standard version.

The rifle is well-balanced and light. The handguard is long, light thin so it points really well and allows me to get a good controlling grip on the front end.

It hits whatever it's pointed at. I haven't been out past 300yds, but at that range my eyes through the iron sights were the limiting factor. I'd say that a bolt gun is more accurate, but some reputable tests with this barrel say that it's capable of .8" groups at 100yds. That's plenty for my needs.

The action is nice and smooth too. The A5 buffer system and the mid-length (long than carbine, shorter than rifle) gas system makes the recoil impulse a smooth push rather than a kick.

Without wishing to brag, I'm quite pleased with it. Light, accurate, and controllable. It does what I'd like a carbine to do. The limiting factors are my abilities, the lack of optic and asinine California-imposed restrictions.

My bad, I do remember it now. :dunce: Great job dude, sounds PERFECT! Looks sweet, too. 👍 Half of me wanted a .308, and the other half wanted .223, so I've been just drooling over the .223 AR's lately.

Two of my coworker, for some crazy reasons all of a sudden caught the AR bug. One was getting his wife to pick up Colt LE model AR from Walmart on her way home. I guess there is at least one Walmart around here that still carried firearms(props to them 👍), and they had four, going for around $1,100.

The other coworker is buying a Winchester lever action .357 rifle for his GF, and he might end up getting the same Colt AR as well. He wanted to sell off his GP100, so I told him I'll give him $375 for it. He thought about it for awhile, but he declined. He ended up trading it in for the .375 Winchester rifle(from the guy who bought the Walmart AR). Good thing the deal fell through for me. 1) I didn't need a .357 2) I thought it would be a OK carry? His is a 6-inch barrel. I assumed it was the shorter one, just like the one I shot before. :dunce:

Yes the grass is always greener. Your .308 is also a fine rifle. If you bought a .223 instead you'd be drooling over the .308 right now instead. This is why we pursue jobs with high salaries. :D

The Colt 6920 is the standard for the industry because they produce the M4. There are better rifles, there are worse, but they are all compared to the Colt 6920. $1,100 is not a bad price. You can get them for ~$1,000 if you buy off the internet.

Winchester .357's are so classic. I need to fire one while wearing cowboy boots before I die.

Cowboy hat? I checked out that Winchester today, and while I had no interest in it the last time we went shooting, I wish I had shot it now. That thing's sweet! Compact, and just neat looking man. :D

As for the greener grass, I am well aware of this. I don't have to have both calibers, as it would take a lot of money for me to justify owning both at the same time, and I can't shoot both at the same time anyway. Maybe that Israeli company can make that double firing AR chambered one in .308, other in .223? No? :D

P.S. Me and the dude who actually got the Colt today had the same take on the Colt AR. Great "stock" AR, not the best, but certainly at the reasonable price. He did mention that he price checked online, and he just didn't want the hassle of ordering online, which my mix-up with my Bushmaster might have given him a cold feet? Besides, if you can just tell you wife to go get fingerprinted, and pick up the darn rifle, why bother with the FFL? :D

I don't have much experiece shooting an AR. I never liked them. I could never get past the 'spring bounce' they had.

However, I'd like to get one now. They have DPMS .308 on sale here in SoCal. They even have S&W M&P lowers on sale for $130. Are these any good?

Spring bounce? Are you talking about the whisk over cheese grater sound when it cycles? It struck me as odd at first, then I kinda got used to it. If the rounds go where they need to, all is well.

I'm not big on DPMS, S&W is well respected. The M&P15 is one of the best budget AR15's available along with Palmetto State Armory and Spike's Tactical.

You could always go the route of buying separate upper and lower. You can end up with a slightly cosmetic blemished lower and a top level upper (the part that really counts).
