To answer the question , I can send you the BTR '86 setup.
The CTR "Yellow Bird" '87 I keep by myself and myself only.

I get the grip racer part , but does that mean Racing tyres?

And what is the track you have been running your laps at?

MadMax
Yes i am wanting the B-TR same with me and my C:sly:-TR

I seriously need a tech advisor to go on-line racing and all it is saying is connecting?

I have the ethernet cord running from my Modem/Router to my Playstation and it still isn't workin' I give up!
got your set-up not real good with a manuel though. usually use an auto
All my system is saying is waiting for a connection.

what's up RJ?

HEY PF how about that set-up?

Nice work with the 'Edit' button, Mr T-Fan. But ...

... does this refer to Max's setup? I can't believe someone could possibly describe one of Max's as 'not real good'. And do you mean 'manual', or is your driver a waiter from an iconic British comedy series? The only car I can believe being usable over the 1/4 in Auto is the 1937 Auto Union. If it is Max's tune you refer to, give it an hour or three of practice, you will be rewarded.

How do you get onto online PS racing?

You don't.

That's because it won't work. Because you don't.

So are you going to enlighten the crowd as to why you're getting times 4 times slower than you should on Motorland?

You don't.

Hello how are you doin'? And yes you can go on-line. I just need A Techie to help me.

oh thats cause im a grip racer,as to answer your question.
Be sure to thank the guy for helpin me on these wall-o-texts:banghead::bowdown::dopey:
Hello PF welcome back!👍

There is only one way to play GT4 online. And that way isn't by connecting your PS2 to your router and going to "LAN Mode". Unless you're familiar with tunnelling software, you are not playing GT4 online.

Check the back of the box. See where it doesn't say "Online Play"? That's because GT4 doesn't support online play.

That doesn't answer the question and I have no earthly clue why you'd think it should.

A laptime for a stock Ruf RGT around Motorland should be in the region of 40 seconds, not 1'40. Tuned and you can pull that down to high 20s, not 1'38-1'55

Welcome Niky!

Boy, you don't like me do you Famine?

Back of the box where? Maybe you can help me tunnel it.

You gotta admit i'm getting better at these posts!:dunce:

Boy, you don't like me do you Famine?

You surmise this from me asking you straightforward questions - and answering yours?

I like people who follow the AUP. You're currently doing so (at last). But whether I like you or not is irrelevant.

Back of the box where?

Err... exactly?

Games which support online play say "Online Play" on the back. GT4 doesn't say "Online Play" on the back and, yes, doesn't support online play.

Maybe you can help me tunnel it.

I doubt it, on two counts. First, you are a self-confessed luddite. Second, you've already missed all the sticky threads discussing it.

That aside, this isn't the right thread for that discussion. We're still wondering why you're running 1'38-1'55 laps in a tuned car which should be pulling TWENTY SECOND lap times.

Whats a luddite?
Gotchya on the back of the game case.

Well your the only moderator that buggs me.:scared:

Before I answer your question, I'd quite like it if you answered mine. It's a bit rude to ignore questions while demanding answers of the same person.

Stick to the AUP, I won't "bugg" you. Don't and I will. As a moderator. When I'm not moderating, I'm posting as a member - and there's quite a few other members here asking for the same answer to the same question.

Since this just isn't getting through to you - 1'38 to 1'55 is 300% too slow for a lap at Motorland - here's a video of a Ruf RGT at Motorland. Note the laptime - 35.887 SECONDS:

I was trying to drift and it did not work,so i figure i'll be a good 'ol american gripper. Does that answer your question?

That doesn't answer the question.

YOUR LAPTIME IS OVER A MINUTE TOO SLOW FOR THAT CAR AND TRACK. You literally cannot manage that lap if you drove the circuit using only reverse gear, steering with a dance mat. See the video I posted? That's a Ruf RGT at Motorland running a 35.887s lap.

So what are you doing to get a laptime that slow and how can you possibly think you can evaluate car performance with an average speed of 30mph?

Did you drive that? But once again the reason was in the grass, etc. with the drift set-up. You want a better time? fine how about a CTR2? See i just started playing this not to long ago, so yes i'm not that great.Boy i think you and i could be great friends! 52.218, there you go. Any comment?

So now you wanna answer my questions? Please?

It's nothing to do with being bad at the game, or being new to it. It is literally not possible to do those times. They're impossibly slow - and it also seriously calls into question how you can hope to compare the cars. You're doing an average of 30mph, yet saying one car understeers? Even the tightest turn on the track can be taken at 40mph. If those are genuine laptimes (and I do not believe they are - an average person in a stock RGT can do three laps in the time it takes you to do one in a tuner one?), then you are not qualified to compare and evaluate the cars, and any difference in laptime has nothing at all to do with settings. What times do you get with the stock Rufs?

Which all begs the question... what's the point of this thread? Your aim is to compare the Rufs - two of which don't even fit the criteria of RR cars - but you cannot do this if the cars are nowhere near their limits.

I shoulda stuck with small cars. Anybody else wanna comment? Where did everybody go?

Looks like i have an audience.

I presume they're watching a train wreck from a long way away.

A luddite, for reference, is someone who is unfamiliar with technology either through not being used to it or, more traditionally, hating it (the Luddite movement in 19th Century Britain destroyed mechanical looms as they believed technology was taking their livelihood). It tends to be used now just to mean someone unfamiliar with technology, such as:

TOURNIQUETFAN
i'm kinda computer illiterate

Given that you're computer illiterate enough to have missed the sticky threads (and probably not to know what sticky threads are), I foresee limited (no) success with trying to get you tunnelling - and given that you're still claiming a 300% too slow lap time (while keeping a NSX-R LM behind you, somehow), I foresee even less success if you actually get racing online.

So no, I'm not willing to help you - particularly given that the information already exists here on GTPlanet.

Oh, for future reference:

Wikipedia - for looking up information about words you don't know
GTPlanet Search function - for looking up information here on GTPlanet

Hello scaff.

This is not MSN, so please do not use the boards to try and have conversations.

You have been asked to follow the AUP a good number of times, so far you are failing in that regard, so a few words of advice.

If you value your membership then think before you post (and be sure you know the AUP), otherwise your stay here will end up being very short.

Scaff

Then go away, unless you have a set-up for (RUFRACING).

Ummmm, The AMMT BTR you tested is mine. I care about how it is represented on this forum, quite a lot as I liked that tune. Thank you for remembering whose cars you were comparing.

Sorry Scaff.

I did suggest that you follow the AUP when posting, I guess you must have missed this bit......

AUP
If you question someone, it must be done in a reasonable and semi-friendly manner. Violating this rule will be grounds for suspension and/or permanent removal from the board.

.....and I'm more than a little fed-up of watching you blatantly ignore good advice when its given to you.

So no further warning (in PM or post form), from now on it will simply be infractions. So keep going like this and you will be gone rather quickly.

A look. A clue.

Ummmm, The AMMT BTR you tested is mine.

Yah I was wondering what the lan option was for on the playstion.

Not relevant to this thread or in fact this forum.

Remember the "Wikipedia" and "GTPlanet Search" links I posted? Give them a whirl - Wiki to look up what "LAN" means and the GTP search to tell you what it's for.

Thanks for sticking up for me there Famine, but I think we resolved it first. Thanks anyway.

Geez i

said i was sorry famine.
I heard scaff.
As far as your car goes it went pretty well. Impressed.
I was thinking about testing your Ka out as well.

Well this isn't exactly the way I wanted this to go but maybe it'll go good from here.
Maybe we all can get along.
