Reasons to buy gt6

What is there to upgrade in a racing game? New tracks? New cars? New Events? Everything else is minor, and with GT at least, the new physics is good enough. Here's to hoping the new sound and A.I. are also successful.

I think most people that think it's just an upgraded GT5 just want much better graphics in which the next gen consoles provide.

This theory that GT6 is an updated version of GT5 is BS. If that's the case then so is every other GT game aka GT1-2 and GT3-4). GT6 is a new game with new, not updated features.

It's not BS. Every GT game is just an updated version of the last. They have a few new features sure but GT5 is 90% the same as GT1. That's just the way it is with a game of this nature.

Course maker, period.

Better online system (for me, the loner), period.

Better sounds, I don't care, but there should, or could, be.

"Better" A.I., there should be, period.

More time change/weather tracks, period.

I don't know. We should name and blame some other things that should have been better than what GT5 gave us. They didn't need to give us AI to race against, period....:D?

There is no way you can compare this to Gran Turismo.
It's more like Hot pursuit or Burn out.

Has nothing to do with racing:tdown:

You misunderstood. I wasnt comparing the two, I was merely saying that The Crew is going to be an awesome game. One of the many for the PS4 I can't wait to pick up.

I'm buying it for the cars. I know that most of GT6 cars are there in GT5, but there are some new ones, better sounds, better upgrading options, more variety... Playing it online with friends will be really fun, specially GT3-Class cars

Because I love the feel behind a wheel when I'm driving in gt5!
Because of physics!
Because PD respect the fans!
Because of all those memories from 1998..
Because I love cars!
Because I love GT!

I read the last two pages and I can't believe no one's said it yet........

None...No seriously, the only real reason would be because you are a big GT fanatic, other than that, there isn't anything ''new'' to it, I'm pretty sure you can get a similar or even better experience with other titles that are dirt cheap nowadays but my honest advice would be to get a PC and or even a XONE. When you think about it, PlayStation as a platform is lacking a lot in the racing genre.

The Delta Wing

BMW Z4 GT3

Mercedes Benz SLS GT3

Audi Rally Car

Silverstone

Willow Springs

Audi Ultra LMS Race car

Better Course creator

Better Online Features

DLC Every month

and the fact i've been a fan since 1998 is good enough justification to kick Sony/PD my 60 bucks.

Silverstone, GT3 cars, PD living up to my expectations, Ford Fiesta ST, SRT Viper, Ford Shelby GT500, I can go on and on about why I'm wasting 60 insignificant bucks on GT6.

The game GT5 failed to be is reason enough.

DLC's a toughy there as I don't have the economical ability to have all the DLC on the spot (I sure as hell would if I could).

Ford Fiesta ST

Did I miss something? I've only seen the Focus ST announced... which I pretty much expected, as it's been out for a bit now. The Fiesta, in addition to being newer, is slightly less expected. Though I'd certainly welcome it - awesome little thing 👍

wait what
Is it still going to cost like $4 for 5 cars? Cause I don't want that...

It will certainly be interesting to see how the general consensus about monthly DLC changes once GT has started doing it. Especially the often-held assumption that, for a company to have DLC only a month after release, that they must've purposely kept it out of the game to wring more money out of players.

Best looking Dodge on the streets today.

It ain't no Dodge! :P

My reason for buying GT6? I'm unlikely to be picking up either next-gen system this year now - maybe the One, depending on some currently-undisclosed features of a game - so sticking with the current gen, I can always use more racing games. And despite my complaints about GT5, an average GT game (or even a mediocre one, compared to the previous installments' successes) is still better than a vast majority of the racing titles available on PS3.

Gt6 looks like a great game, but I already own gt5 and gt6 just looks like an upgraded version of gt5. What are some reasons to get gran turismo 6 that will justify the $60 price.

You asked a question but I haven't yet seen you respond to any of the replies. I rarely see replies after I post one, but I don't normally ask questions unless it's one that I'm wanting someone to answer for themselves rather than for me. I'm not really sure what was the point in asking us to justify buying GT6 and then not looking back.

Personally, I figure you either know you want it or you don't want it. If you don't want it, I don't expect any replies to do much to change that. If you're a fan of this sort of game, you want it because it's this sort of game. Otherwise, you don't want it, and all the justifications in the world probably won't change that.

I'm assuming that everyone else is doing their best to ignore your post, but I just can't help myself, especially when you insist on using your big old pasting brush to illustrate your point.

How many racing titles have you played on the PS1, 2 and 3 to find Playstaion lacking in that respect? Bear in mind that this spans all of the GT series and Richard Burns Rally on the sim front alone. Then there is DiRT and the WRC games - or were you talking about exclusives only?

You won the lotto! You didn't take the bait, you won the bet. Expect sweet dreams tonight! lol

Simple, PC has always been the superior platform, there's no denying that so that automatically puts PlayStation in second place, specially nowadays. Then the ''new'' kid on the block came in and created 2 of the best franchises ever in the racing genre. GT4 still sold more than its competitors but we all know it's far from being the best and it's supposed to be PS's flagship.

Now, with the current generation, we've had 1 game in almost 7 years, of course the PS3 had various multi-platform titles but it was always the Xbox version that looked and perfomed better. In the meantime, Xbox 360 had all the goods, 3 Forza titles, 2 PGRs and the better versions of Dirt, same goes for WRC and F1 series.

OK so the PS3 is finally getting another AAA racing title but why on PS3? Next-gen is looking great (again) for the XONE, they're launching with Forza 5 and probably by the time a GT title appears on the PS4, we will already have Forza 6 on our hands. It doesn't matter if the PS4 is more powerful, if the developers choose the XONE as their development platform, we'll continue to see bad ports.

I mean, look at the Forza forums, you'll see a healthy community because they're satisfied with the game they support, on this forums and on any GT forums all over the internet you'll see dissapointment, delusional people, people taking sides. People begging for improvements. This frustation comes from the fact that if you don't like GT5 you're screwed, there's nothing else to play in the racing genre. If there were more decent racing games on the PS3 people wouldn't be so serious about GT, they would simply play something else but they're stucked with a half-assed game.

Now, with GT6, this frustration translates into optimism, poeple are so desperate for improvements that they'll take whatever PD throws at them, these ''improvements'' really shouldn't be seen as good work from PD, they are just catching up and they are doing what is expected from a AAA company with unlimited time and money.

I used to be a PS3 gamer but now I just can't stand it, it's a slow console, with bad ports most of the time, the DS3 is junk for most of the games, the online is always bad even though I have a high-speed internet connection, even the exclusives aren't my cup of tea. The worst part is that people can't let it go, they wanted GT6 on PS3, WHY? just let it die.

Because they don't want to buy a new expensive console for just one game? Many people bought a PS3 specifically for GT5 and didn't get satisfied. Would they want to buy a new console for the same reason lead by hype again?

Besides, most of the important problems GT5 introduced had nothing to do with the hardware but with game design. Giving us prettier visuals on the PS4 wouldn't do it while if they managed to work on game design they could deliver a good game even on the PS3.

I was going to list a bunch of reasons but honestly it just comes down to the fact that it is Gran Turismo. There isnt much out there that is like it and as much as I love Forza I'm not getting an X1.
