Red-Zone Autoworks (Demonstration Car now out!)

Wait, it's an SZ-R?? I have been looking for a low mileage one to tune myself. Hell, I might as well just drive yours :dopey:
I have a 10.0km example fully worked Holdenboy for drift, puts out 410hp. ;) That + 70hp NOS = Me drifting the WHOLE of Turns 1 & 2 of Motegi Super Speedway!! :D:D:D:D:D

I'm not entirely sure that gnarly is "Australian" slang though. Don't know where it came from, but yeah, surfer boys tend to use that term a lot. I can't surf to save my life though. Plus the rash you get from trying to surf :nervous: You do not want to know where the rash comes up.
Gnarly was originally a Valleyspeak term from the San Fernando area. :P It means cool. That's from the American-Australian slang dictionary.

I've just tried out your drift RX-7, and am immensely pleased at the results:

Stock: The car was a very relaxing, controllable driving experience when completely unmodified. It likes basically to be tossed into the corner, lift-throttle oversteer helping a small drift, then throttle bringing things back into a totally composed exit. There isn't much drift angle present, but it's foolproof and very pleasurable.

Modified: The increased thrust allows power-oversteer in the corners, and higher angles as well. It becomes a bit more difficult to drive in this higher spec, but the increased difficulty is more than likely a simple product of increased angle. It is actually a brilliant drift car as is, slightly difficult to be totally consistent with, but very capable and still controllable. In the initial high-speed bumpy corners of Trial Mountain, though, it begins to jump very unsettlingly, as one never knows which end of the car will land first.

Tuned: Normally, when I test a drift-tuned car, I follow a standard procedure: (A)Drift it through the first three corners of the run perfectly, (B) Comment to myself about how brilliant the tune is, and (C) begin making mistakes to no end, and finding countless flaws in the car's tune. So, this time, I held my breath when it took the high-speed chicane with composure and effortless angle. I remained silent when I took the higher-speed 3-corner agglomeration with tires smoking and opposite lock not giving the least bit of anxiety. I said nothing when the car seemed to drift itself through the tunnel. Two and a half laps later, I decided it was truly safe to say something, and so I shall: Sha-Zam! It is equally as effortless as the stock car, and more capable than the modified car. Mid-corner snapback is now the least of my worries, and corner-exit 'snaking' is of the same caliber that I recieve while grip racing. The gearing, happily (Note: Shakespearian reference), is nearly perfect, providing the right amount of thrust for handling, and getting within 1500 RPM of the redline at the end of Trial Mountain's long straightaway. The tendency of the modified version to jump -in a fashion so disconcerting- over Trial Mountain's first turns is totally quelled. I'm really digging deep within myself here to find an insult here. *Musters up all his strength* FirstGearWheelspin! No, CostaDiAmalfiDoesn'tWorkQuiteRight! No!

I'm struggling.

Thus, this is a car I shall be keeping, and gladly so.

thank you for the nice review, although i didn't quite understand some statements there :D so, is it okay for you if i consider the car you suggested to me in PM your "request car"?? if yes, i will work on it, as soon as i finish a customer's car.., 👍 what you said in PM was very convincing, looking forward to tuning it. BTW, is there a 10km special of the car?? i think there is..,

^It's not a request car, really. I just wanted to recommend it to you since it seemed to perfectly suit you. But, you should definitely see what you can make it do sometime.

If what I said confused you, please ask me to clarify!. I sometimes have a bit too much fun with the English language, as you've come to see.

I'm assuming you're talking about the FC drifter, if so then there is a 10.0km version of the '85 GT-X.

'85 GT-X?

Theres a '85 GT-Limited and a '90 GT-X. :sly: Oh and an Infini III too, '90 as well.

i already began working on it.., that "round thing" just made more wheelspin, if you know what i mean.., ;)

If what I said confused you, please ask me to clarify!. I sometimes have a bit too much fun with the English language, as you've come to see.

i see.., what is difference between modifed and tuned in you review of the FC?? and why are you finding insults for my car??

no, we're talking about another car.., 👍

i see.., what is difference between modifed and tuned in you review of the FC?? and why are you finding insults for my car??

He's having trouble finding insults for it, IE it's GOOD.

Modified is with parts applied but without the settings applied, tuned has the full setup on it.

i already began working on it..,

Fancy! :D

that "round thing" just made more wheelspin, if you know what i mean..,

No, I don't.

what is difference between modifed and tuned in you review of the FC??

Modified: All parts applied to car, but no settings applied.
Tuned: All parts and settings applied to car.

The idea here is that I still give you detailed driving impressions of the tuned car that you produced, but I also check to make sure that it is, indeed, better than the stock and modified versions of the car in many ways. Though, I make an exception to the rule for your minimalist tuning style: Any (non-power-related) part which isn't the best that you apply to the car (like close tranny), I consider to be part of the setting, and only apply to the "tuned" section of the review.

and why are you finding insults for my car??

As pleasant as it is to test a tuned car and yell, "It's bloody perfect!", I always get the feeling that I'm depriving the tuner of the constructive criticism from which they would benefit. So, I do actually seek out flaws in tunes which I find to be near perfection, and have considerable trouble in many cases. In your case, the problem I found with the car is entirely fixable (in theory, at least) with an FC Tranny and gear ratios whcih give taller low gears and lower high gears. Your car is actually damn near perfect, and you should be proud that the worst complaint I had for it was its first-gear wheelspin.

EDIT: Tree'd by RJ.

No, I don't.

it's the turbo that makes more wheelspin.., it's not a good idea to fully tune the car you suggested..,

Modified: All parts applied to car, but no settings applied.
Tuned: All parts and settings applied to car.

oh i see, i get it now.., 👍

well, most FWD and RWD cars have first gear wheelspin if they have N-Tires on them, don't they?? the reason why i did not choose the FC Tranny is that the Close-Ratio is good enough.., IMO using that part is not always the best option, because it has narrower rev ranges compared to the Close-Ratio.., as much as possible, i try to avoid the FC Tranny when i am tuning RWD and AWD cars, but if the machine really calls for it, it's a go.., ;)

again, thanks for the review.., 👍

The Infini III comes in 6.2mile flavour too.

I prefer the GT-X though, the stock exhaust sounds sublime. :D But theres no 6.2mile version. :(

please read the above terms and conditions again :)

for the occasion, please see my profile.., :)

*edit - Chapter 9 of Red-Line is out now! :D

Woops, my bad. I'm already in-elligible.

Happy birthday =drifting24/7= 👍 Have a good one. I could have sworn that wasn't in your profile the other day, because I checked.

A Vanquish, please. :D

I've tried, and the car has got everything it needs, but I can't set up for drift.

Can yooooouuuuu?

a drifting Vanquish, eh?? consider it done 👍 so, Venari's request is confirmed.., 2 requests remaining!

Happy birthday =drifting24/7=!

Shouldn't we be tuning cars for you on your birthday?

I'm not actually sure if I'm elgible for this. I don't know if I'm a GTP Addict or not, I just leaped straight to GTPremium. Oh, I'll try anyway:

Toyota MR-S (MR-2 Spyder) on S3's without wing. I have no idea if the car's difficult to tune, but it's still very cool car.

Happy Birthday =drifting24/7=! This is an odd way to celebrate, though...

Would you rather drive a sports car if offered or get a ride with someone else driving? It's the same with tuners, would you rather tune it yourself of get it tuned for you?

Ah, I see!

It's mainly that I've found that I'm nearly useless at tuning because, after I spend a while driving a certaincar, it becomes transparent, and I only see my driving. Thus, I can't really do much in terms of tuning.

At least, that's my theory. I could also just suck!

Lotus Esprit 350 Sport. Let's see how ya do.

sorry guys.., you have tested some of my cars, so that means you two have pending requests from me.., you two are inelligible to join, sorry to disappoint you..,

oh, and thanks for the greetings, although EA11R's was slightly late., :)

so, how about extending my promo?? It will be until April 28, 2008 , 8:00 P.M. GMT +8 time.., hurry, join now!!

The second quartet of Honda's Type R cars, mainly sold in the European market, and what can be also considered as the least recognized of the four. In our point of view, this car is overshadowed by its 3 other cousins, maybe because of looks and performance. But now, we have transformed this sedan. into a racer, a touge racer. We were surprised by this car, it can handle 280 bhp without ever having to worry about 2nd gear wheelspin. Handling was improved dramatically, and we can say that this is our best handling FWD car so far. We are very proud to have this car in our garage.., :)

I can still get an Esprit however, therefore build one. ;)

I haven't requested anything, and I've TESTED two cars.

Good luck.

Would you rather drive a sports car if offered or get a ride with someone else driving? It's the same with tuners, would you rather tune it yourself of get it tuned for you?

I'd rather tune it myself, but I sometimes like seeing how others fare with certain cars.

Ah, I see!

It's mainly that I've found that I'm nearly useless at tuning because, after I spend a while driving a certaincar, it becomes transparent, and I only see my driving. Thus, I can't really do much in terms of tuning.

Hmm... You're the opposite of me then. I suck horribly, but if a car does something I don't like... Well, it just nags me and nags me until I get rid of said issue.

sorry guys.., you have tested some of my cars, so that means you two have pending requests from me.., you two are inelligible to join, sorry to disappoint you..,

Oh, I must've misunderstood the meaning of the term 'pending.' Oh well, I'll just request that sometime if I desire.

I've tested your Mugen S2000, and I don't have much to say about it, but it's all good. As usual, your power/transmission combination was spot-on, and without oddities in any areas of tuning (such as the only power upgrade being Stage 4 Turbo, etc.). The handling/thrust ratio is high, something I don't always appreciate, but I can't really fault a tune because I wasn't in the mood for it. The way it went around corners, however, was unusual and fantastic. The car never really oversteered, being stable and predictable, urging the driver onward, to go faster and faster, then being very reasonable and forgiving after yoou exceedthe limit. But, despite the fact that the rear wheels never gave up, it always feels like they are about to. It feels like it's been made completely safe to drive, which it has, but sacrificed the absolute minimum in pace to achieve such benevolent handling. It's great, and I'm going to keep this car in my garage, since its handling is so great for actual racing.

I can't really think of anything wrong with it, and achieving such a great handling balance is a feat which I appreciate tremendously. It's a unique car, gentle on the wallet. Its abilities make it practical to use in many races, and its handling makes it well usable in dogfights. I can't remember exactly how much you've improved it versus stock, but it certainly wasn't so well-balanced as you've made it. I can't really find a flaw to the thing. It's even driftable on N tires (as long as one countersteers immediately)! This car is what 10/10s are made of.

I'm very happy that TTL, as a young, one-man tuning garage, is consistently putting out such quality tunes, when I'm so used to seeing similar garages dying away. Due to your minimalist(ish) tuning style, you'll not really be direct competition to the others, but you are now truly a staple of the Tuning & Settings forum. I'm impressed.

:)

no RJ, reviewing a car means you have one pending request (isn't that how it goes around here?)

you've tested two cars, so that mens you have TWO pending requests.., ;)

and don't worry about that Esprit, i'm already building one for the garage..,

thanks for the review! have to admit, the Mugen S2000 is the best handling car in my garage SO FAR.., anyone can easily use that car, perfectly balanced, if you just want to enjoy driving a car..,

soon, i'll be direct competition to the others.., you'll see.., :mischievous:
