I agree that making logos is a chore, but there is a simple reason for why we don;t get a better selection of manufacturer decals: licensing.
I know, but Turn 10 has been able to license more logos in the past Forza titles. I don't see a reason for them to not be able to now.

10 games in I doubt there's gonna be much change to the livery editor now. If you know how to use it, there's very little they can do to improve it. It's the models themselves that need improving, so the shapes can fit cars more organically and remove restrictions such as unpainted areas. I'd love to colour code something like the new NSX with the grey grille surround for example.

Oh yes there is. How about a pen tool like in adobe illustrator? Or even a simple boolean operation of shapes so that you don't use excessive amounts of layers for no reason. I could probably list out 20 simple ways to vastly improve the editor.

I don't know it it's even possible but I would love to see them switch to vector imaging as it's annoying how pixelated even simple schemes get.

I'm guessing all the existing layer groups/complete designs would get left behind but I'm guessing the painting community would be ok with that considering how better new designs would look..

Edit: I should add that I'm not a painter, just an admirer of the wonderful work the community does.

Using the vector format is definitely the way to go.

Raster images simply look awful when zoomed in, hope T10/PG address this in the future!

Almu, your Civic was pretty quick, took a bit of effort to beat this, and only just :D

And can you imagine that being allowed? If it was, surely it would've been that way since the first game? I'm sure we have shapes because they have to make it as difficult as possible for copyright infringement.

A Bentley concept (with the wrong engine), a wagon version of a Volvo already in the game, and a Jag SUV beat out all of the Aussie cars. The 340R is dead-freakin' last, with a rebodied trophy truck even beating it.

And I'm not about to trust a survey which places the Talbot Lotus Sunbeam in 37th place out of 42 cars, so good on you, obsessed JDM and hypercar fans. And people wonder why the Silvia S14 story takes so much flack from people who want to see more unique car models as opposed to two lackluster Silvias from the same era...

On the other side, the Crown Vic and the 242 do prove the oddballs can take it to the established obsessions with some effort. When a boxy Volvo beats modern muscle cars such as the M2 (yes I went there) and the ZL1 and even the freakin' Radical, you can feel somewhat pleased with that result...

What is this Honda S8000 they keep mentioning in that list? Is that a Honda S800 with the Viper's 8.0 liter V10?

Since we're talking about DLC, here's a post I made in a thread on the official forums:

I saw no reason to buy a single car, let alone a full pack or the Car Pass. The game comes with over 300 cars out of the box and they are varied enough to handle anything that comes up.

I'm not advocating "power creep" but I would prefer if additional content added more to the overall experience than simply another few cars to drive. Blizzard Mountain was a good example but that's something that requires significant development time (due to the new map) and it's unreasonable to ask for monthly iterations.

I liked how Driveclub approached Downloadable Content. Every pack had the following:

  • Additonal cars.
  • Unique customisation elements (in this case, preset liveries).
  • A short collection of Single Player Career races based around the cars in a particular pack (using existing circuits).
  • Additional Achievements tied to the cars of a pack and the new Single Player content.

This worked better than the Forza model of post-release content (for me) as it not only gave me new cars, it gave me a reason to use them.

PJ, at the same time, nobody has really complained to T10/Playground about it, so it won't change.

Besides, I don't know if how the game is set up, Playground would want to add new races with every DLC pack. As much as I would like that to happen. Hell even if the game had the ability to make custom races instead of just custom championships, that would be fantastic.

Really, the NSX came 2nd  it's one of the ugliest cars in the entire game, although that's just my opinion of course.

One thing I really hate with how the championships are set up is with regards to the Modern Muscle class.

Stuff like the various Cadillac V models should be in the Modern Saloon class. The Viper SRT-10 ACR and the new Viper ACR should be in the Modern Super Car class, alongside the C6 ZR1 and the C7 Z06.

Just bought the game. Is it possible to play through the game, using only one car?

Totally possible.

...

I loaded up my game on the weekend to snatch up the Bentley. Seems I still have the floaty car glitch over most roads, which is annoying. Almost impossible to take a picture I'm happy with because of it.

I've been noticing that on my game. Every time I exit a Festival, the car is sitting about a foot from the ground.

 ok. Once things load up, I'll see about using the XR8 and Pursuit Ute. Plates will, of course, be "05XR8". :D
The GT-F is going straight to the paint shop.

Forgot to reply yesterday, but yeah, I saw that one :P. I improved my lap time a little bit yesterday, but I don't think I can go much faster with the Civic.
