They've covered 3/7 continents so far.

My bet is that Asia is next. Japan seems like an ideal place...in fact a much more logical place to set a driving game than Australia or Colorado, IMO. I like the first game, and I even like Colorado, but Colorado was a real oddball choice.
Colorado was selected because it's an area with a great variety of landscapes; deserts, canyons, mountains...

And when you think about it, if this were a real festival, having it in a central part of the country would make the most sense, instead of on one coast or the other.

I still hedge my bets around South Africa for the next game. I've been getting quite bored hearing about wanting to take the next game to Asia and Japan in particular.

I'd love to see a Horizon in the UK personally, I think it could be great fun.

I don't even mind if they shrunk the map, for some bizarre reason it only takes 5 minutes to drive from Portsmouth to Newcastle :P

Or just base it in the London and Kent area so where I live will get featured ;D

As far as locations for FH4 go, it's gonna be either in Asia, Africa or South America.

For Asia, possible locations are China, UAE, South Korea and Japan.

For Africa, I'm betting on South Africa, seems like the most fitting country.

For South America, a number of countries are a possibility, but I'd bet on Brazil.

My personal pick would have to be Japan, it would be amazing seeing an open world Japan running on Project Scorpio with a focus on Japanese car culture.

Brazil would have worked a lot better as an Horizon location in which you can explore a lot more than the botched Rio track and homespace from FM6. Which makes me think the next Horizon game won't take place there.

But since we've got snow now thanks to Blizzard Mountain, how about Sweden?

I think the UK would be perfect for the next game. Refreshing change of climate and imagine getting driving roads inspired by those famous countrysides. Perfect for photo shooting with the small villages and so on. Moreover, emphasis on UK automotive history has so much potential. Essentially something resembling the classic Top Gear atmosphere, only with the Horizon angle instead of humorous journalists.

Japan could work wonders too, but part of me thinks the franchise needs a break from the Pacific and tropical / subtropical areas.

The snow was just getting you all ready for Canada, eh.
Had to.

I will say California is significantly more geographically varied than Colorado, and it has Ocean. Importantly, it also has a vastly larger road network and possibly the richest car culture on earth. GTA V's SoCal-based map, despite being much smaller, is better than any of the Horizon maps, just from a driving point of view!

Japan isn't tropical. It's about 2,500 miles from the equator. In fact Hokkaido is nearly as far north as Portland, Oregon

Vancouver Island, driving up the Malahat, BELIEVE.

Seriously, look at the size of Vancouver Island:

And there is a ton of opportunity for beautiful vistas, especially around Ucluelet and Tofino.

I would vote South Africa, specifically Cape Town and the areas around there. The city itself is decent sized and the roads along the coast are some of the best I've ever driven on in my life. But then again, maybe it's not a diverse enough environment.

In which case, Vancouver and surrounding areas would be perfect. Cities, beaches and seriously beautiful mountain roads up in Whistler.

Mmmm Sea to Sky Highway in BC:

That shouldn't be a disqualifying factor, given how fast and loose PG played things with Australian geography for the FH3 map. If it ends up being Cape Town or a South Africa "greatest hits" setting it'll give them an excuse to add some ZA-only curiosities like the Ford Sierra XR8 and BMW E30 333i.
