Yo, cleangie, those settings aren't going to help to much.
  • Your rear camber should be less then the front - it makes things easier trust me
  • I think your car is too high and too soft but that's personal preference
  • You LSD settings are killing you. get that LSD Accell up to at least 35. That will help you to stop spinning.

Fix your camber say 3.0/1.5 and your LSD and things should get easier.

Also if you're feinting, chances are you don't have to break. That's a very advanced technique that is extremely touchy. Try feinting without the last brake you put in there and see what happens.

Good luck, and good description of your problem. :)

Do you mean by braking before entry to adequate speed? Can i use default LSD settings on it? 10, 40, 20 respectively? I have to reduce my speed somehow. On 90 degrees corners, i can do it sometimes without brake, but not on hairpins. Hairpins are the killers to me..

I'm gonna try out your modification immediately now! How excited am i!!!!!

I would go with 10/40/15. And yes, I mean braking AFTER you've already got down to the desired speed. Braking upsets the weight transfer of the car considerably. So if you're feinting AND braking, your car is in a very delicate position as far as control goes.

I will post on how to use those settings hopefully by tonight.

The only thing awkward about those settings in my eyes are the low spring rates. Also, the high camber angles should make it handle slightly weird, I think.

Having a high rear camber isn't as insane as it sounds if you ask me.. it should theoretically make the car grippier in the rear when powering through a corner (although it probably doesn't) with those soft springs.

The LSD is also not a big issue, it's more a feel thing. As long as the car has an LSD installed, you should be able to drift it... a soft LSD does make it a bit easier to drift when flooring it, depending on the car. I've had a number of cars that have worked with LSD settings like that, but I haven't tested it on an RX7.

If you want my advice on suspension/LSD tuning that car, try to keep the settings conservative.. the car is extremely prone to oversteer. I'd choose something like 7/6 springs and 1.5/1 camber.. and some stabilizer (4/3 possibly). I'd also install a 2-way LSD, or something a bit tighter (like a 20/40/40 or 30/50/50)

The big problem is probably technique, though.. you have to be pretty careful when brake drifting. Just feather the brakes and make sure you apply some throttle to keep the revs up.

It seems like you might be riding too long and hard on the brakes. Also, depending on angle and position, try reducing your countersteer slightly when you get back on the throttle.. this'll help move you forward, but it also means you have to be in control while braking/coasting.

Ske , with those settings, its all feint tech. I wanted to copy the ID arcade stage Type A FC but its too much oversteer and that is how my style runs sometimes. I will reedit in a bit.

Swift, your settings has ease my drifting so much! They are so much easier. But i still thank nightkids4ever for his settings, and he really made me wanna see how did he manage to drift in such settings.

I'm planning to buy a PCMCIA tv tuner card on ebay to record replays. If this idea feasible? Any suggestion? Well...., i'm really looking for a cheap alternative.

I'm glad my suggestions helped out. Don't forget what Ske said though. Conservative is the way to go, until you get really good. Honestly, most stock settings are ok to drift with. Just increase the spring rates a little and maybe stiffen the rear stabilizer.

As far as your card goes, are we talking for a laptop? If you need something for the desktop, I'm sure you could get an all in one wonder for around 60$ or so.

Yes, i'm on a laptop.. Aiming for a Smart PCMCIA TV Tuner Card. It says in the package description to be able to record PS2 replays and gameplay too. But so far from my search in this forum, no one has stated that he/she had used such a card for saving replays yet, which kinda bothers me a little..:indiff:

Yes, I'm taking all tips from you guys into consideration whenever i practise.

Cheers guys!

Any device with a video-in port will do (a TV tuner card is what you want). What you do with software after capturing is much more important...

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about anything but price if all you're going to use it for is capture PS2 replays. Get a cheap one! If you can win that one Swift posted, go for it ;)

Swift, i would really love to get the Pinnacle device u suggest! But the price isn't too much of a pretty figure.

As for now, I'm trying to source a cheap PCMCIA Tv Tuner Card locally. Otherwise, i will try ebay. Is ebay trustable? I've bought any auctioned items on ebay before. Have seen prices like USD15 for the card, but the shipping cost is as high as USD20. Therefore i'm thinking twice for it due to the high shipping cost.

ebay is trustable, but read up on all the personal info safety stuff and articles. lets say my account was jacked, and 7000 dollar bids on xerox machines was the result. luckily i had my account on paypal, and none of it cleared.

theres no sort of electronics shop in singapore? probly any small pc store wound have some.

What you has said made me think thrice, not twice on buying at ebay. I dun have a paypal account. Most probably will be going to Singapore's electonics mall these few days to take look. Thanks my pal!

Went down to my biggest local bargain electronic mall today. Was very disappointed as all TV Tuners cards, either PCMCIA or USB 2.0 are mostly much higher than those on ebay(Including Shipping Cost).

I don't have a paypal account. I feel its risky buying from a seller from USA too.

I feel so mixed up and sad...:guilty:

clanegie my friend saw the video u send me but my friend said your drifting is better than mine LOL i think i retard No hope

Huh?

Anyways, I tried your set-up (b4 the re-tuning) and found it impossible, so now I see why it was hard for you, lol.

Ive been gettin used to drifting my Pajero, and kinda got a lil detached from the MR-2. Its just kinda funny seeing the big-o Pajero sideways.

Eventualy Ill get the motivation, and Ill upload the vids my MR2 and Pajero. For about 2 months at trying this, Im happy with my progress. And thanks to those who wrote the drifting guide, thats what helped me do my own suspension tuning. 👍

Oh... Please don't take those comments so heavily! What i feel is that you drifts are so much better than mine! Hope to see your new video soon! Happy New Year Pal!

Texan, i have sent my video to nightmadness over in MSN. The file is in 3gp format, therefore i did not upload the video. Anyway, the drifts is nothing to be happy over at.. I still need lots of practise!

^^ LOL i mean no harm HAHA i just kidding with you pal i wish to see your new improvement can record new lap? I always at MSN and Happy New Year To Everyone.

Sure, i do hope i can do some better drifts before i make some videos out of them. Can ayone advise how can i convert 3gp videos to other uploadable video format like .avi or .wmv? I tried searching around the net, but all are pay softwares. I don't think i should pay for such a service. I might as well buy a TV Tuner card if i'm paying for those softwares.

Ummmm...
Get one of those $2 thumb drives from office max
(USB)
Plug into the ps2
Transfer
yada yada
Oh
ANd does anyone know of any American Drifting games
Like Mountian Drifting for ps2
Or any American Initial D games for anything other than psp

try lookin at download.com, and just using a trial?
Did tried over at www.download.com , but not much offers in there. My mp4 / 3gp files are too big to be uploaded. I'm still trying to source for a budget tv tuner card for my laptop. Will see how as time goes!

Happy New Year to all here! Just saw the fireworks in my country 1/2 hour ago!
