Same here, played the first few challenges multiple times and it runs very smooth.I got the retail version yesterday and i cannot confirm any framerate issues at all.
Like FC, its far more difficult compared with GT5P with no assists

After I re-read my reply I went online & tried the SCC beta again, "racing" (I was way off the pace!) with ENERGIYA & mhm. It struck me as very bad, & for the first time I thought: "is this the way FC feels to noobs? Cars wobbling & bouncing all over the place! No wonder so many of them can't stand it!"
In FC, although the weight transfer feels a bit "wobbly" (especially with some of the cars), I basically know, & can feel how to, control the cars. The SCC beta (even after the latest update) feels way different from FC, & I find it very difficult to control the cars.
So I really need to know, from Higgi & any other experienced FC racers:
is the finished game signicantly different from the beta?!
because if it isn't, I have serious doubts about it.
(Many people have reported liking LFS a lot - I hope to be able to try it soon, now that I have my new windoze bootable Mac. 👍 )
Tried a couple of laps around SPA in the beta and i really don't like the force feedback.
Turning the wheel initially is very easy, even under braking, but then the force feedback kicks in half a second too late, which gives me the feeling that I have to countersteer.
The effect is that my cornering is far from fluent.
Still prefer GT's FFB over this.
Oh, and why do I have a Dutch flag in front of my name in the beta lobbies? Did something happen to Belgium that I'm not aware off?
... but amar, didn't you find it worth mentioning that the retail version has MASSIVE framerate issues where the whole screen stands stil for a split - second on certain parts of the track...
Also I had the PS3 automatically restart a few times after exiting SCC. It's weird as I really thought it's a bug in the game, but as no one else seems to have it, I'm rather confused.![]()
I wouldn't cal it "massive" because it is almost unnoticable, and it is more-less something that happens in all racing games on certain points of the tracks.
I think Laguna Seca in Gran Turismo is the most known example of such "glitch".
However, calling it "massive" has no logic, because it lasts for maybe 1-2 frames and does not compromise anything with the game. However, it is plausable that you maybe have different issue than one I'm reffering to.
As graphics are concerned, only context where usage "massive" is right is that SCC is a "massive improvement" over both FCTP game and SCC beta in all areas regarding visuals. Framerate is now almost super-smooth in given constrains of 30fps, resolution in better, lightning is better and everything is better.
Of course it is not on the level of AAA driving titles - from PGR series, to GRID, Forza up to GT - but it is good and I see no real problem with it. SCC is the game where graphics is not the most important thing, at least not in my book. Since this game has many options that are important for PS3 racers until GT5 comes out - and those are Private Lobbies, good physics, good FF wheel support, in-game voice chat and so on - SCC delivers ALMOST everything a serious racer would like to get on it's PS3.
I have the same issue, it was also there with FCTP at the time and in SCC beta as well, so I presume it has something to do with programming of the RAM that Eutechnyx didn't do properly. I hope some patch will resolve that since I agree it is irritating.
Hmm, no I have 85 GB free on my 160GB HDD... but I start thinking could be the BR drive as the problem comes and goes randomly![]()

I have found if i don't quit to the absolute main menu of the game My ps3 will crash/reboot. So you aren't alone with that problem.
No framerate drops for me.
Anybody by any chance notice if you can change the sensitivity of the controller in SCC? I have noticed that on some cars (particularly dbr9) it is way too twitchy.
Thats it,the cars in the SCC beta handle like the bad cars in FC. In FC you have some cars that are really very good...the 360GT,F430GT2,355 Challenge etc, then you have the 550M,575M,and the 250LM,if the problem is just with the Enzo and the McClaren thats another matter. Someone who has drove all the cars in SCC let us know your thoughts.
Oh, ok no problem
I think the beta was a lot more raw and unpolished in regards of how it feels and handles which I really liked more.
This is all very confusing!
There are some people who say the beta is much better than FC, &/or that the full game is much better than the beta, &/or that the full game is much better than FC, & others (like myself) who say that the beta is worse than FC, &/or that the full game is worse than FC.
I promoted FC because I felt that the physics/FFB together, created a visceral sense of driving, that while perhaps not accurate in detail to each car model, gave an overall better & more immersive sensation than GT5P. The "bouncing" & "wobbling" of the cars - the "pendulum effect" - was intended to model instability under braking & weight transfer. In the best cars, like the 348 & 355 challenge for instance, I think it was modelled very well & created a very convincing approximation of real world driving. However, even within FC there were some cars that seemed to be way off in their physics/FFB (like the 550, for instance).
The cars in the SCC beta feel like the "bad" cars in FC to me: the McLaren understeers like crazy, the DBR9 bounces all over the place. The "pendulum effect" seems to be way over-done. As I don't have the full game, I don't know if the other cars in the full SCC are a lot better done, or if the full game is different from the beta, but at the minute I don't know what to think of the whole thing...![]()
Edit- Oh yeah... I see everyone driving with all aids off and ABS on 1... Put ABS on 0 GUYS!!! Trust me... its not like GT5rologue... Nothing like the feeling of coming into a corner and pressing the brake a tad to much, making the car veer left and right before entering the turn at speed and STILL keeping it under control ...

I honestly dont notice much of a difference between abs 0 and 1. I was always driving with abs 1 then last night I raced with everything set to off. I was cautious at first thinking I was going to get brake lockups everywhere. But after a lap I realised there was not much difference and started driving like abs was on. I didnt notice any wheel lockups, and the car didnt really get out of shape anywhere under braking either. I am disappointed with it really.
BTW I only used the DB9. Maybe it is different with other less drivable cars.
If I have the DBR9 on Spa... the long straight after the uphill chicane near start/finish, going down that straight full speed slam the brakes when you get near the braking zone and see what happens... If I do that my wheels lock up and I go sliding out on the grass missing the chicane there completely at the end of the straight...
