@danbojte, Should we allow the Scirocco to use the Loose setup ? This will greatly help with rotation and eagerness to turn in :) The scirocco had lower rear toe out as base, and may not be on par with the civic in terms of agility. The loose setup helps to keep things in balance.

Obviously, I will defer to @danbojte, but just to throw my two cents into this conversation -- I ran about 10 laps with each car setup the way Page 1 says to set them up (NOT using the loose setup on the VW) and my lap times were very, very close. I was a teeny bit faster with the Honda, but I used the VW first. I wouldn't be surprised if I were faster with the Honda solely because I was now warmed up to the track with that PP level. I'm talking less than a second difference per lap.

On my tests there was difference too, but maybe .150 - .250 per lap, pretty accurate fight pair anyhow, and if this difference bothers I'm suggesting to run races between same models.
Guys are running test lobby, maybe they have ideas how to go Saturday.

Did you tried the higher rear toe out on the scirocco against the civic ? It may bring both cars closer :)

P.S. : I'm using so much beer from @Brewguy44 .

Here's one of my pit crew, she'll be there for a quick drink between races!!

Wasn't on available options, so no I didn't.
Only choice available was long or short final gear on scirocco.
On scirocco you have to be more precise with throttle and braking, so bit harder to drive. Probably lapping closer times after more laps on it.

Does your wife know about this ? Of course not :mischievous:, hey Brew :dopey:, don't look but she's right behind you

Hoping to be available for this weekend's races. I believe I've got both the Scirocco and Civic built already, need to Double-check my specs for the event and take them out for some testing :) I'll register for the events tomorrow and go spend some of my ill gotten booty on a Veyron. Are they both available for use, or just the older one?

TL. Shame you're not going to make it this week :( Hope to catch up with you on track real soon :)

This is the original tune post, with all available setup choices and detailed notes. If you read the notes, I mentioned about running high rear toe out up to -0.70 :)

Notes :

A simple base tune for BTCC GTP Championship - a quickie build in 30+minutes. I have several race coilover kit replica setup available :) The base setup needs online shake down with race regs ( tire wear normal etc ) and let me know if it needs more rotation or any improvement. There are quite a few tuning aspect ( ballast position, ride height, springs, damper, ARB, camber, toe ) that can be tweaked to suit, as they were intentionally built with limitation to maximize potential from simple changes. The base tune when driven offline on 1st lap cold tires is capable of mid 1:01s at Silverstone National, 1:34s at Brands Hatch GP, 50s at Brands Hatch Indy, and 1:42s at Indianapolis Road.

The optional low lock LSD is the lowest setting I recommended, any lower there will be only loss and no gain. Alignment can be tailored to driving style, rear toe out can range up to 3/8" or up to -0.70+, suitable for short/sprint online road race. Ride height can use higher front for more rotation on a sensible amount, will need minor tweaks to keep it smooth. Other spring rate combo also available, higher rate at the rear can be used to an extent. An extreme spring rate setup with closer wheel rate to each other also can be used ( if you are a daredevil )

Brake balance can use higher rear if preferred, 3/7 is possible and should give better rotation on entry.

The base tune above managed to spin out ( over rotate ) while braking and sharp feint move ( ABS 0 ) on entry at Maggots, Silverstone National.

Ridox, are you saying that 0.125s isn't "close"?! Put those two cars in the traffic of a race situation, I'd say they're almost dead even.

I'm just worried if the scirocco needs more rear toe out to get similar turn in/rotation as the civic :)

Even though I'd prefer the two models races, it will be established ASAP.

Veyron on CS :scared: Don't you think we need SM or SS ? Anyone who is going to race the event, please try it onlne. The Veyron needs very careful throttle and brake timing on CS tire. It will be a high pressure race even on the straight, drafting and picking lanes.

@Ridox2JZGTE hmm, my scirocco rotates well enough, just have to be careful with throttle, I'm more concerned LSD, car spins easily inner wheel.. But so does civic..
@DaBomm4, @danbojte what lap times you were running on your test lobby, just checking that 1:01 time and wondering am I so lousy driver on Silverstone National at that is just dream online for me.

I tuned the LSD to have little inner wheel spin, @Lewis_Hamilton_ , was the driver of the civic, maybe he can share his experience with the civic ?

For lap time, 1:01s seems about right as both cars was also tested at Silverstone National in FITT BTCC, I forgot if @Lewis_Hamilton_ did some laps there. But when I drove it there, 1:01.3 in 1st lap ( offline in 1.09 though )

:eek::bowdown::bowdown: Wow, what a draw :embarrassed:

I am doing some test laps at Silverstone National with the Civic, the BMW did 1:01.5s here with ease, the Civic managed 1:01.3s on 1st lap :mischievous: - this is offline, but at least it shows how close civic and bmw at short track. Both utilize Xtrac gear ratios as used on BTCC/WTCC.

I haven't watch the whole video, so what did I end up with ? :grumpy: Hot Damn, VW  I don't even have the car in my garage:dunce:

I was running 1:02's earlier today...So, sounds about right that you'd be at least a second faster than me -- mine was in Arcade Mode too, which is more grippy and has no tire wear. :boggled:

Urgh, maybe I just put my figure skating trophy back on shelf..
I'm not big fan of any Silverstone variants, but that bad... Gonna check my times tomorrow again...

Even online going close to that? Using specs very fast tire and noABS?

@Lewis_Hamilton_ raced the civic at Brands Hatch Indy, and it was slower about 0.5s from offline. The online FITT BTCC race was on normal tire wear, not sure if he used ABS or not. The FITT BTCC cars were heavier ( normal tire wear, fuel depleted slower/heavier ) and on lower fuel load, should be able to post quicker lap times than the best time in the race ( replays ) The optimal lap time would be very close I think, as long as the tire level is still high and fuel load is low enough. You should be happy, 1:01s online is a quick time.

Here are some race replay of the 1st round at FITT BTCC :

Saw that I was being tagged in this thread and see that there's another BTCC event running. As the last one I was in died off after the first event, I would love to be able to hop in as a late entry here if that's at all possible and there is a vacancy for another driver.

All hail the almighty Martian , may we all have a great race :D Martian start from the back :P  I hope the Scirocco won't fail in your hands :P

I'm over second behind that offline time when online, this is not good thing, that track is simple, but those few corners are too technical for me at this point.. Grin..
