This is why I'm posting the videos on the Event. đź‘Ť I just didn't wrote there - Please, watch it. ;)
Yes, and my video is having bit same idea, giving visible idea how to manage a decent lap around track. Things to look aren't those lines, or cornering speeds, or maybe those too and you'll see how this car is slow-in-fast-out car. Fastest lap on my video had slowest cornering speeds. People should look brake, throttle and gears more. All what I'm trying to do is avoid traction loose, during braking there was few momentary places where brake goes fully down, only for small period, then have to modulate braking force. Rule of thumb: 4&5th gear can handle full brake for a small moment, 3rd ~80% for moment, 2nd ~50% for moment. During downshift you have to release brake too to avoid tire lock up. Acceleration is flat out easily if there is nearly zero sideways movement.

Oh and I'm on racing brakes, 1/1 BB.

Thanks for the tips. đź‘Ť

I think my lack of ability to have good throttle and brake control makes me a little timid on the track, but I joined @danbojte's room for a while and I am within a second of his best lap in the session. I'm very pleased to have gotten a hot lap at 1:37.219. Normal, good laps still around 1:38-40 though.
I was .128 behind him with my ballast.
Sorry for being quiet but mumbling alone and searching/analysing best braking places and lines.

No, mine was 36 mid and that was my lucky lap. ;)
It's fine, I was doing the same, along with finding the right BB earlier. I was also doing other things, but overall I think I'll be ready for the morning to hit. :scared:
You're doing well, just keep the consistency and it'll became smoother without you'll knowing that. đź‘Ť

@OdeFinn joined your room while I was still on so your time was still up as fastest lap of the session. :P

I know, and I can tell that my skill level might be increasing slightly. ;)

How many have dropped second or two on their lap times now?
My practising was to look well that real-life Maserati wet lap what's linked on event post, from there I steal few cornering entry's, and "normal" lines for track. Braking points.. well there are those, but don't know where, what I know is how to brake Maserati quickly.
Don't loose traction, in either way, during acceleration or heavy braking, if you keep this in mind you'll time is going to be fast.
I haven't done ANY practicing since danbojte switched the cars to RH tires. :grumpy: I'm going to go out in a few minutes and run some laps. I've just been so busy with other crap the last few days...I really wanted to put in a good amount of practice for this race too. I have such trouble with a few of the corners on this circuit. Hopefully I will figure something out by race time. :nervous:

low 38's was the best I could do with my added ballast (20kg). :boggled: I switched back to racing brakes, well, at least for now. Who knows what I'll run come race time. I have racing brakes on Tab A and standard brakes on Tab B. I went out on Tab B and ran some laps. 1.38.9xx was the best I could do. So, I switched to Tab A, with the racing brakes, and ran like a 1.38.7xx - slightly better - and then realized I still had SS tires on my Tab A. So, I put RH tires on my Tab A setup and went back out there. 1.38.2xx was the best I could muster. Yup...I'm only half a second faster with RH compared to SS tires. :embarrassed: :banghead: I actually think it's a testament to how well the car is setup. We all know that SS tires are super grippy. I just expected to drop more than 0.5s with the RH tires... Oh well. Hopefully you guys all spin out and crash! :D  j/k

Make sure at you test with low BB values too, depends do you like to use full movement of brake pedal. Too tiff brakes on this car aren't helping, setting brakes between loose and barely locking made easy laps, but in case of emergency bit tighter to having possibility to lock of needed was my choice.
Normal brakes are too slow on this (imo), low value racing brakes are just fine.

Yes...I am teetering back and forth between 1/2 and 1/1 with my racing brakes setup. Off the top of my head, I think my standard brakes were at 3/4, but I might be wrong. However, the problem with the standard brakes was, I pretty much had to apply a firm & steady push on the brake pedal, quickly reaching 100% application of the brake and hold it there right into turn-in. That's fine for hot-lapping, but I don't think that would be very good for racing. I have a feeling I would be slamming into the backside of the car in front of me if I tried using that brake setting. But, if I tried increasing the balance, I would get lock-up to easily. So, I moved to racing brakes. Normally, standard brakes are all I need...but this IS a true race car setup, so it doesn't surprise me that I would need racing brakes.

@ALB123
I don’t buy your bluffing anymore. :P  I know you'll give us a lot of work to race you out. :nervous: ;)
I agree, he's more likely running in the low 1:37's :D. I was with @Thorin Cain last night practicing and this is not an easy track to pass someone :nervous: "cleanly", you've got to be patient and wait for the small mistake when it happens, ...if it happens .

Hey TC if you run like last night you will make a few of them sweat it out a bit, so keep it steady and run your own race đź‘Ť.

Just wondering who from my side of the ocean  will get up in time for the first race, wish you all good luck and keep it clean guys đź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ť.

That was a good practice session bud, thanks for that :D You were running some good consistent times there, a couple of cracking lap-time being put up too đź‘Ť Keep that up and I can see you having a good strong race as well

I still see the demi-aliens @danbojte and @OdeFinn and @RMan72 doing their usual great job of leaving the rest of trailing in their wake, but I think it could be quite close between the rest of us. From the lap-times that've been reported so far in the build-up to the race all looking so close, I think it's a safe bet that consistency and focus are going to be the main deciding factors between the rest of us mere mortals

That's the hard part, not making that ill fated mistake that makes you lose 3 to 4 seconds, it takes so long to catch that up :nervous:.

Oh, I wish I had cracked into 1:37s...not a single lap better than 1:38.2xx - I swear! :( But, I think Thorin-Cain is right. Consistency in lap times is going to make a big difference. I also didn't put in a lengthy practice session, so I don't know how long tires hold up. Oh well...That's what the first race is for!

The tires hold on real well, but you have to pit once, I was going to suggest that you wait until the last lap :mischievous:, but somewhere in the middle is best, you might want to pit on a different lap than the car you want to pass. As for fuel I'm not sure but I think I can make it with one tank . You'll be starting way in front of me đź‘Ť, so we may never see each other on the track during the race .

The same as the first race, today was just a weird morning for me, yesterday I was fine, getting consistent laps, then first race was bad braking points, second race started with funky brakes.
When I did my first on line race with on top off that no driving aids I was completely lost, never found my practice lines and brake points, was stressed and finished so far back you could have thought that I was the leader . I`m just starting to be able to keep calm and just do my own race, I still screwed up quite a few times today but it seems it was just one less than a few others :D, hope to see you again and have you in my mirror pushing me to my limits đź‘Ť, but be polite and don`t pass me, you know the thing about elders first .
