As promised (I don't break promises that I make with girls, just because ), here's some reviews for your lot, Dragonthing.
All tests done on Trial Mountain Forward, ABS 1, all aids off, manual, grip reduction: Real
R34 Touring Car- 1:19.649
🤬 me, this thing is fast! And I do mean properly, mind-bendingly fast. Top of the leaderboard first time out, beating my Spec I Zonda R's lap by 0.2 seconds with ease. Another lap later, there is a new lap record yet again of 1:19.649. It makes you feel like Senna, it gives you this feeling of invincibility. I was taking corners at 125mph, felt like I was going 70, only slightly more exciting. However, I could never make lap 2 work…maybe just me.
It's no R35 though, which is good. But honestly, it's not far off from taking the R35's "better" traits and making it its own. The grip isÂ…insane, even though you have the best part of 800hp in a car that is rather prone of understeer, it only gives in when you've really taken it to the very ragged edge.
I would love to tell you that this is also very easy to driveÂ…but, well, it's no Yellowbird, but closer to X1 in terms of challenge. The responsesÂ…it feels like there isn't any reaction time between you turning in and the car doing so. I was expecting it to wallow around the track, but instead, its turn in is so sharp that you can't feel what remains of its weight at all. It feels light, until you push that little too hard, that is.
Oh, and then you have the brakes, which are so strong that a touch of them too long will bring you down to 80mph, even though you're doing the best part of over double that (175mph ) to begin with.
Need I sum up? You've built something like those '80s F1 cars in qualifying trim. Epic power, epic speed, unrivaled grip, brakes that would work on the X1 makes this a truly deadly weapon on the track, online or off. The fact that it's actually very good fun, if slightly scary, to drive is just another bonus.
Impreza RM- 1:26.161
Good car, no doubt. Faster than the MP4 LM that you also tuned, drives like a rally car shod with slicks. Grips to the track with not much issues, though it does seem to want to understeer when you try to put your finger down on corner exit.
However, the thing that stops it from being not just a good car, but a great one, is that it justÂ…doesn't feel fun. It doesn't feel like it wants to be driven in a lively way, but just driven, full stop. It just pushes a little too much for it to be fun. Otherwise, it's great, it beats quite a few of my own 600PP creations, even though they are mostly road cars with no downforce whatsoever, but it does whip their arse with a 'mere' 530hp.
Python- N/A
Yes, yes, for once, I've been bitten by a tuned car that I couldn't handle for a full lap, and as a result, set no lap time. Done laughing? Good. Because there is a very good reason for that. This car seems to be set up like a FF, stiff-ish front, stupidly soft rear, 1/7 anti roll bars, the lot. That's fine. If this car was a FF. It isn't. And as a result, on a track like Trial Mountain, where the bumps are very considerable in size, you have a higher chance of being bounced off into the guard rails than landing on the track. Ouch.
Viper GTS- N/A
Unfortunately, seeing as I am now dead, I can not test this car. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Quick edit-
A few shots of how I got killed to death in the Python:
Nothing much wrong with this shot, eh? The Viper is prone to flying, I mean, when you're going over 180mph with not that much downforce, it's inevitable, no?
Well, as it turns out, no. If you can't already see, the Python is already wriggling free, it isn't really level in this shot. But hey, the landing ought to correct that, so no biggie, right?
No again, the soft suspension bounces the car off balance. At this point, I'm going "Holy 🤬!!!" and am already in need of some new pants. From this point on, the pictures are sort of self explanatory.
