Rumour: Yamauchi won't talk about GT5 at E3 !!

from vg247.com

Those interviewing Polyphony Digital legend Kazanori Yamauchi at E3 tomorrow have been told not to ask questions about Gran Turismo 5, VG247 has learned.
Meaning? Well, presumably that the game du jour for the Sony car kids is going to be GT PSP only.
SCEA’s John Koller confirmed GT was on the way to PSP Go in the “leaked” Qore ep this weekend, and it now looks clear the focus will be on the handheld title as far as Gran Turismo’s concerned.

thats mean we ever can see the game early 2010 :scared:

GT 5 realese date : the day that never comes !! :ouch:

Well, it could be right that we will only see a PSP GT at this years E3, it could mean that we will see GT5 at TGS though, but it could also mean we will see a small portion of whats coming and the rest will be revealed at TGS or another event. It could also be just teasing.
We will know more in 28 hours when the press conference is over.

If that is true then I'll be buying an Xbox 360 and Forza 3 (presuming it is announced and looks good)... My patience will have finally run out... I know that there was no official announcement about something being presented at E3, just internet rumours, but the wait for even some information about GT5 is ridiculous.

Mark.

Maybe he just doesn't want to talk about GT5 while he is promoting PSP GT, that makes sense. Maybe there will be one presentation about PSP GT and another presentation about GT5 and he wants to keep the questions relevent to the specific game he is talking about.

I was just looking at the site which posted the news and it doesn't seem the most trustworthy and reliable news/rumors site, so there is no need to worry. Like you said we will find out soon, I guess.

Well MAYBE they just didnt want an interview with VG247.
I also didnt got one for the site im "working" on, but that really doesnt mean a lot.

I cant wait to see either GT5 or GT Mobile (at least something new), plus we will get a lot more than Gran Turismo for sure.

Right so it all starts making sense now. The reason why nothing has been leaked about GT5 over the past months is because nobody at PD has been working on GT5. There probably hasn't been any progress on GT5 at all, they've all been working on GT Mobile in line with the launch of the new PSP. There won't be any news on GT5 at E3 becasue there simply isn't any news. I was looking forward to seeing something new on GT5 at E3 and practically everyone on this forum was pretty sure there would be some news. I guess we'll all have to continue to wait on GT5 until at least 2011 now? Darn it....

Yeah sure, the high poly models of the Mercedes CL65, BMW M Coupe and the Fiat 500/600 were from a PSP game. :D

 I don't think that's the case at all. Infact that PD are now working on a PSP version of GT can only mean that they are very happy with how GT5 is progressing and can afford to assign some staff to cover the PSP version. There is no way a handheld version of a game will take precedent over a home console game, especially when there is far greater demand for GT5 over the PSP version.

Due to how long we have been waitng, it only makes sense to show us GT5 now. Forgetting all the rumours, I will be very dissapointed if GT5 is a no show once again.

I wouldn't read too much into this - GT5 may be a long time coming, but it's nothing compared to a PSP GT game... when you Google GT PSP and find an article called "PSP GT delayed to 2006!", you can understand why PD are anxious to get this farce over and done with. As for GT5 at E3, I'd agree with ASH32's assessment that it may simply be a chance to focus on the PSP game rather than a sign that GT5 has been put on the back burner... that said, it would/will be very disappointing if there isn't atleast some news on GT5 in the near future. Still, it's only a 'rumour', and they are reading too much into it if you ask me...

Sony better has some GT5 footage on E3. Honestly, who really cares for GT mobile in comparison to GT5 ? It's a nice addition, but not more if you ask me.

What I expect :
  • GT5 release date
  • feature list ( not necessarily complete )
  • confirmation for damage ( at least in race cars ) preferably incl pics or a video
  • confirmation for weather effects / rain / day night changes preferably incl pics or a video
  • one or more videos showing cars, tracks, at least 1 min ( gameplay only) long

Less than that - big letdown and tbh - not acceptable in my book. Yamauchi had enough time.

They might just say what they want and then we have to settle with it. Maybe they just don't want to put Kaz to deal with the ENORMOUS amounts of questions, which he could be facing if allowed (bad English and all.. :) ). Not necessarily mean they won't tell us anything.

"And I guess everything will be presented in the gala dinner in the weeks or months to come, but at the E3 latest." Have faith guys, have faith. :sly:

How can you not ask any questions about GT5? I mean come-on....?

thanks for the info, it kind of got my hopes down again. But its just 24 h left so all we can do now is sit here, try to waste time as much as possible and tomorrow read throught the 31293821903 new threads from E3 and GT5 :)

Chris

Maybe it's only to ensure undisturbed premiere of PSP GO + GT5:Mobile and news about GT5 will follow the other day. I am calm, believe Amar212 and I will not follow those hot head speculations at all.

I was assuming most of our more detailed information would come from the interviews following during E3, but it seems this may not be the case. Just hope they do some GT5 talking during the press conference if they can fit it in sideways between the PSP GO and GT mobile.

Well then I'd say be prepared to be let down. If damage is showcased in the display at E3 (IF there's a display), I'll eat my hat.....(maybe)

I think that there will be major announcments regarding the GT franchise, but am not willing to guess what percentage would go to PSP, PS3 and maybe even the announcment of Tourist Trophy 2. 24 hours you say? One thing I can predict I'll find out before the end of tomorrow is that this site will be running VERY slowly.

Word 1

So obviously we can look forward to a measured response then?

i think sony gonna realese (gt5: prolouge 2)early 2010 then the full verion in 2011

FFS Release the good damn game, you fools
