Rumour: Yamauchi won't talk about GT5 at E3 !!

Well... i don't either tbh... damage was shown on two cars, the Subaru WRC and a Nascar that started spinning. So, to me, that shows damage. They call that logic by the way... :sly:

Well how did it work out when you played the game?
Which tracks did you race NASCAR on?

It's a given that if the vid is representative it will be in the game, but like I said, the game ain't here yet. So all you have at this point is a glimpse at a wrinkled fender, and a few NASCAR renderings.

EDIT:If all it takes to satisfy some of you guys after 4 years of waiting is a 30 sec vid and no mention of a possible release date, you might as well go get a run of the mill arcade race game. You propably will be more than happy with it, if its not to challenging for ya.

Sorry but what I saw and heard today I don't consider gloriously substantative.

This is unbelievable.
You don't have anything, until you get the game!
Do you really mean to tell me that you don't understand that.

Maybe you should leave this forum and come back when the "game" is released. You obviously have no meaningful input otherwise. A release date has not been made available so any conversation about release date is speculation... if you believe we dont currently "have anything" then your only here to whinge and argue over something that doesnt exist ??? Doesnt make sense.

By your logic, no one has played the game hence no one should be posting anything about GT5 the game, including you yet here you are still making reference to it, yet trying to belittle other people for making reference to the game... do you actually have goal here or is it just to argue?

Oh.. so you spoke to the GT team who put that together and confirmed they are renderings and not in-game ?? Nice.. tell us how that was for you

Anything else you need? or you want to keep whinging and making insults ?

I understand that everyone is getting tired of complaints about scarcity of information and so on. I haven't been an active member on these forums so I understand if people might think I'm out of place right now. But...

I think that it's okay for people to complain about delays and what not. I think that it's our right and duty, as a gamer and a consumer, to question publishers and development teams in order to force improval.

I'm not saying that we should bash the hell out of PD just because the game may have been delayed even more, but I don't see any harm in trying to let them know that fans of their franchise need something more to keep their spirits up. As many of you have pointed out SONY could be the real villain in this play and if this is the case then I feel sorry for PD.

I know from own experience with the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise by Konami, that a blindly devoted fanbase could cause the development team to grow complacent. In the PES-case it resulted in the FIFA series overtaking the PES series in less than 2 iterations...

Personally I don't think that Forza 3 will be able to compete with GT5 once it's released. Just now I watched some footage of Forza on gamespot live and the cockpit view (though in low resolution video) looked no where near as good as GT5 Prologues, neither did any of the cars.

Keep faith guys! =)

Where are the working reverse lights, we didn't see them. :nervous:
There are working lights on the Le Mans cars, so there is hope;)
At least we will have pigeons.
Thank God... the illusion isn't totally shattered. Whew!

Well, this has been one heck of a rollercoaster. While some people are way bumming, at least a bunch of us are juiced up for what's in store for GT5. Whenever it shows. ;)

If some of you don't know what to do with yourselves in the meantime, you could check out my itinerary.
  • I have stories to pen.
  • I have music to compose, practice, arrange and record.
  • I have a ton of games I haven't finished yet! And more to buy.
  • I have a stupid fedril guvmint job. :grumpy:
But most of all, I have a lot to look forward to in news, screengrabs, videos and who knows what all with GT5, maybe even GT5 Prologue, as well as a bunch of killer PS3 games coming out this year. This is going to be one seriously cool yule! :dopey:

Tell me when and who appointed you GOD of the forums here.

Also your obvious lack of understanding, incorrectly prejudged some of the prior post as whining and complaining when we were speculating on the possible release date. Even if there was some of what you claim, whats it to you, complainers have as much if not more right to post as you do.
Go back and read the posts.

A release date has not been made available so any conversation about release date is speculation...

Most everything in these forums is speculation, including at this point your claim to have damage, but I guess that got by you too.

By your logic, no one has played the game hence no one should be posting anything about GT5 the game, including you yet here you are still making reference to it, yet trying to belittle other people for making reference to the game... do you actually have goal here or is it just to argue?

Go back and check the progression of this thread. You will find I am not the one suggesting someone should not be posting or leave the forum.
Also look at your first post and then see who wants to argue.

EDIT: It truly amazes me when yeahoos like you come blasting into a thread with a over the top provacative post and then act all surprised and insulted when you are replied to in like manner. Don't throw rocks if you live in a glass house.

Not to mention that guy who's gawking at a car that obviously isn't there (in front of him), yet.

Look at his in comparison to where the car actually is, it might look in-line but I don't think it is. Haha.

Maybe there is one car hiding behind GTR :D

Tell me when an......snip..... wants to argue.

Question answered thanks !

"Most everything in these forums is speculation, including at this point your claim to have damage, but I guess that got by you too."

No you guessed wrong, or were you speculating ? Really it was a 50-50 shot so points for trying.
I view the video as a demonstration of what the game will bring and not just some waffle showing a lot of stuff we shouldnt expect in the final release, yet you view it as something else... I'm curious as to what.

If your are right, that the video is no indicator of what will be in the game, then I guess that means no Rally and no Nascar either and the video was just showing some nice non-gt5 related eye candy.
What was the point of the video... to show the new logo ? To show what good graphic ability they can produce ?

"Even if there was some of what you claim, whats it to you, complainers have as much if not more right to post as you do. "

You're absoutely right. Please keep on whinging and I apologise if my complaining about whinging has caused you to have to complain.

Exactly what you list below. An indicator and at this point thats all it is.
An indicator is not an an absolute nor at this point an official declaration of what will be in the game.

I never said its not an indicator. Thats your incorrect assumption.
This is what I said: "It's a given that if the vid is representative it will be in the game". The key word here is if. Actually in hindsite the statement I made is too absolute. The vid was strictly a demo and no claims were made that any part of it would be in the final game.

Please keep on whinging and I apologise if my complaining about whinging has caused you to have to complain.

This what I said concerning this:

EDIT:If all it takes to satisfy some of you guys after 4 years of waiting is a 30 sec vid and no mention of a possible release date, you might as well go get a run of the mill arcade race game. You propably will be more than happy with it, if its not to challenging for ya.

I don't consider that complaining, but rather a accurate and legitamate assessment. Certainly closer to reality than "we got damage".

Lastly, if you were around prior to the release of GT4 you may recall that it was supposed to have "on line" and I believe that was even stated by SONY.

When the game was getting close to release we found it won't be in the game.

Therefore I would caution against assuming absolutes from an undeclared demo.

Maybe there is one car hiding behind GTR :D
Actually, there is. You can just see the tailwing above the rear of the GT-R. ;)

And of course a red car which I can't determine the make of behind that under the arch.

I know GT5 is going to be worth the wait, but the video is just so... so... SO...

This is like waiting to come home from a long trip to my girlfriend, but knowing there are still months left to go. Sigh... the torture...

By the way, I was really shocked to see the formation of F-18s screaming overhead. Someone nailed it in a fantasy he had of the E3 presentation. Someone dig up the thread and give him props.

Gosh Mr Negativity. Why would they show us something that they don't plan on having in the final game? Purposely give our hopes up?

You know, it occurs to me that there are proper threads for discussing GT5 news and since the fear that started this thread has not happened I will leave you all with this public service announcement:

GOD SuperCobraJet, SHUT THE 🤬 UP! We got what we wanted didn't we? Damage, night racing, NASCAR, WRC, need i go on? And don't start the "we doesn't has game yet lol so i'm gonna be a dick about it" To be honest, I was very skeptical going into today, I wasn't expecting much, if anything at all, and you know what? I'm walkin' on sunshine right around now, I am about as happy as I could possibly be about a game. So, lighten up man, have a little faith. ( I know with some of my posts from yesterday i'm kinda being a hypocrite, but i was scared yesterday :P)

Actually I just saw the SONY E3 press release that GT5 is suppossed to release this year. Most encouraging.

I don't understand these goofballs. Why the hell didn't they say that earlier today.

They can show me all that crap they want. Without a release date It don't mean squat.

Now we might be gettin somewhere.

im Going to Repeat it Once, Be patient, im sure the game will come on Holidays 09, and if its delayed itll come at march 2010 so, i guess Amar wasnt that wrong huh?:sly:

Let me remind everyone who is skeptical on a 2009 release of GT5 that if you actually PAYED THE 🤬 ATTENTION to the TRAILER of Gran Turismo 5, you would've noticed in the rally part to the TRAILER you would have noticed a WRC style stage stup thingy and below the Rally of Tuscany (translted from italian) sign it had the date of 2009. I'll relate this to GT4 for a second if i may. Remeber the sign on the Start/finish line of EVERY SINGLE rally course the date said 2004, the very same year when GT4 was released. The connection from GT4 to GT5 is that GT5 will be released in 2009, but we don't know when. This is just my theory which may be rite but what do i know.

The trailer was amazing, but what I would like to know is what PD has been doing for the last five years. Yes I know that they were working on GT5P and GTPSP, but how is it that they have not shown a single GT5 model or render over the course of its creation up to this point. (besides the two previous games of course) What I fear is that they may be staring over from scratch based on the reaction of GT5P, forums like this, and maybe even the company that pointed out some of the rendering mistakes in GT5P inorder to create a better overall evperience. (better models, a physics engine that allows damage, weather, and possible roll-over) So I ask this community, what are your opinions on the future of GT5? I think that with such an ambitious teaser I can only expect a 2011 release because of the fact that KY is a perfectionist and the way that he has spoken about the game up to this point.

So I ask this community, what are your opinions on the future of GT5?
I expect that it's going to come out between November 2009 and March 2010. After hearing that GT Mobile has more than 800 cars, I also think we're going to be quite surprised what GT5 has in it at launch. I think 600 cars will be low, though close to 100 race courses might be right.

I think your notions are a little strange. Even with basic tracks, Prologue is so lifelike that it fools people into thinking they're watching racing movies. And they built the engine with damage and weather in mind from the start. Notice the weather reports in Prologue? ;)

Hopefully now that this promo was shown at E3, there will be a steady stream of information coming from PD from now on.

They can show me all that crap they want. Without a release date It don't mean squat.

So, anything shown at E3 without a release date is automatically not confirmed information?

The logic, my god....

Yep, mostly on GT on PSP though, I doubt we are really going to get a good GT5 look until TGS/TMS.

Notice the weather reports in Prologue? ;)

HAHAHA, I almost forgot about that. But the reason that I made such an outlandish prediction is because of the realistic damage modeling. After seeing the trailer I can only assume that either PD has a solution for all of this or it's something that they are trying to impliment little by little. If its the latter of the two, it would explain why we only saw damage on the WRC car and not a trailer filled with crazy crashes. So if there were to add damage to every single car in the game then each car should have there own specific set of damage modeling. The rendering time required for this is incredicble even with a team of 150-200 people. That is really why I am saying 2011.

I really hope it doesn't nor am I saying it will, but if GT5 doesn't release until 2011...

That's just full of wow.

This thread should be over by now, Kaz first interview is already out and they did ask him about GT5, getting some good answers. It's already in the news thread, it's a good read.

Wow! The trailer was fantastic! Althought I am still not completely satisfied with the conference, at least we have a good idea now what could be in the game. Can we leave it at that and just get along?
