Some of that was a bit off topic.
Some? Hah, 90% of his speech was about the "big bad west." I guess it's to justify that they are saving people from degradation or something...

They even copied this...

EDIT: Ukraine is submitting an application to join NATO with fast-admission procedure, - President Zelenskyi said following the results of the NSDC meeting.

Do we really want Russia to have “parent number one, two, three” instead of “mom and dad”
His solution to that being to kill Ukraine's parents, so there's no parents.

And also the kids.

If the Russians keep bombing civilians, I'll doubt that the Ukrainians will take any more prisoners.

I expect that before the year is over that they'll report 100k Orcs dead.

NATO conference was such a disappointment. Pathetic. I could see now why Putler think he could threaten to world with nukes.

And Hitler ended everything by blowing his own brains out, not destroying the planet in a tantrum-induced nuclear holocaust

I wonder - could tactical nuclear weapons change the momentum on the ground? The threat of nuclear weapons is one thing, the effectiveness of their use is another. Ukraine is advancing on multiple fronts, so Russia would need to use at least several to do any practical damage. The effect on morale is pretty much untested. If they use one and Ukraine continues advancing, I would expect that to be a massive blow for Russia.

If Putin does use a nuclear weapon, it will basically signal every nation on earth that they need a nuclear weapon, a scary thought.

I'm not exactly sure what they would be used for. Underground bunkers are not a factor in this war, chokepoints don't exist because the terrain is wide open, bridges etc can be targeted with conventional weapons. There isn't really any good place where it makes sense to cause a massive amount of damage in a very precise area. Unless they want to deliberately target civilian areas, or litter the entire country by targeting all the airports. I suppose they could try to take out Ukrainian formations at the front lines but if you're targeting the front lines with very powerful weapons then you're basically targeting your own soldiers as well. I don't believe Ukraine has made the mistake of concentrating their logistical networks like Russia did earlier in the conflict. Either way, Ukrainian resolve to keep moving seems very strong, confidence seems at an all-time high, casualties are still relatively low, and progress continues to be surprisingly swift.

Then again it's also very hard to think like Russia because they simply don't care about the things we care about. Collateral damage, friendly fire, irradiating swaths of territory to the point where neither side can use them, it's all fair game to Russia. Their only real goal is to sew chaos and destruction and render everything useless to Ukraine. Russia is addicted to lines on maps which is weird because at no point in their history have the Russian people actually benefitted from controlling all that territory. They can't even manage their own dirt effectively, much less the dirt they're stealing from other people. It's just dirt and any potential wealth they dig up just goes poof into thin air. Nobody knows where it goes lol. How do you have that much stuff and nothing to show for it.

I would hope that such efforts would push NATO to act - or at least NATO countries to act in unison - in a very heavy-handed way. Pending China's agreement to calmly sit back and watch the show, I think NATO and the US could effectively eliminate Russia's offensive capability and military industrial complex with relatively little effort. Plus it would be good practice for a future Taiwan conflict which would hopefully be delayed after showing off how effective our forces are. The USAF would compliment EU ground forces very well. We really need to burn up all those old Hellfire missiles anyway, we've got new goodies coming into action very soon.
