RVV Motor Works - White Knight - 10/02/10

There's only one thing that can help a garage under re-construction and that is reviews. I've been thinking about buying a Silvia K's for some time now and rather than tune it myself I thought I'd let some experts do it.
Review: Nissan Silvia 180RS Autech Version by RJ at RRV
First let me say that I like this car, it has a very well balanced chassis and is very poised under brakes, the car is so willing to turn that you get nearly no tyre screech at all. There's not alot I can suggest to improve this car other than maybe more power, it suits my driving style perfectly. I'm sorry if you wanna here ways to improve it but I can't think of any:dunce::dopey: The tyres maybe seem to be a little overkill for the lower power but that's OK as they enable it to go head to head with DTM machines, I'd try an Original Turbo from a tuning company as they're is so much potential left in this chassis it aint funny and an original turbo is meant to have little lag at all so it could work......
It's a superb car, if anyone crashes this car I advise them to actually look at the road when they're driving :sly:

Thanks for the review, N4HS!

Got a particular vehicle you'd like tuned or something you want reviewed? (Guessing the latter. Will go win a Cien ASAP)

Whoa, you found a way to call me by name without nicknaming or having to spell out the whole thing, well done. I did like this car so expect to see me back here again with more reviews in the future.👍

To help you guys out, and because I love mustangs too, I'm going to go test the GT-350R by Vince. Expect results in tonight or tommorow.

Thanks man!

Vince got swamped this week with homework, tests, etc., and his parents have decided to go on vacation for the weekend. So I'll handle the requests.

Vince's Cuda is something I would be interested in trying some time but it may be a while, so don't expect a review real soon like, I've got a lot of work to be done on the AWD category in tuner challenge as some cars there are really hard to acquire therefore I must wait, patiently.

I think I read somewhere I must win the seattle enduro to get the GT350 mustang, is this correct?

Nope.

Gotta win the Shelby Cobra one-make. Buy a Series 1, lightly mod it and run the races.

N4HS: That Cuda's a handful. Just SOO much torque. And make sure to shift at 5 grand, not redline; it runs out of steam QUICK past 5k. Corners nicely, just don't mash the throttle mid corner, it WILL light the tires.

Still gotta test your Cien.

Sound like I'm gonna need a manual for this car then, not auto- could be a learning curve. I probably will mash that pedal on the right though (figuratively- I use DS2) because muscle cars are fun for that:sly:

Thank you very much, MarkF4E, This is how a review should be like and you was so generous to give us two of them! both positive and negative, but still optimistic in any way. I certainly know now where I as a beginner drifter can find some good advice. ;)
To be honest, I think you've earned yourself the M3 GTR ánd the Chevelle SS.

Schweeet! Thanks! Take your time on them though, my save game just got corrupted :ouch:

Ohh, bummer on that Mark. I'll be taking care of them because life caught up to Vince for the moment, so if you would be so kind as to PM me what direction you want to go for both of them...

Thanks,
~Kyle.

Alright, after a little bit of time with the Vince's GT-500R, I have to say I am VERY impressed. I took it to a course I knew it could shine on, the Infineon Sports Car Course. My best lap there was a 1:40.547. I know there is a LOT of time left, seeing as I spun it once during that lap. With aids on, the car is very controlable, shows a hint of understeer and is overall very easy to drive. With the aids off, it comes alive! Tires spin, slides through corners when needed and through 2 laps opens up a 7 second lead on a Zonda C12S at infineon. Also, there is sometimes a little bit of understeer, but luckily a quick stab of the gas will correct this :)

I raced family cup races at Infineons Sports Car Course too, just to see how it stacks up with other cars. I'll post up the top 3 finishers for each race, and the times

With AIDS:
GT-350R-------------------3'24.109
Zonda C12S----------------3'32.251
Ford GT '05----------------3'33.073

Without AIDS:
GT-350R-------------------3'23.171
Zonda C12S---------------3'30.816
Ford GT '05----------------3'32.237

I'd say the results speak for themselves there. You made one amazing Mustang!

Well... Never use aids. Ever.

It will make you a better driver by a longshot.

Anyhow, is there a specific car you'd like tuned?

Who said aids, aahhh. By the sounds of reviews this Mustang gets, it could be a good competitor in this talked about classics tuning comp, especially sein' as it's already well developed and has probabably been improved on many times, like a Porsche 911, we're coming to the comp with a clean design.

I normally don't use aids, I just did it for the sake of comparison for the review.

Would it be too much to ask for a Plymouth Prowler tune? Just to be a solid racer, nice cornering, quick acceleration.

I don't see how it's a "special" car but he's right, can't race it.

Wait, the prowler is a special car? Knew I should have checked that first.

Well, since thats out of the question, can I get a Plymouth Superbird tune? Quick acceleration, oversteery amd maybe a max speed in the 160-175 neighborhood?

Gimme a TK II setting for 300mph... I really dont get it, I get 270, and whats his name gets 110 more mph outta it!

Thanks for all the comments in here, funny to see this thread coming to life during the hardest periods of the threads life!

Especially the fellow mustang freak a big thanks;).
@ markF4E: I'm sorry, life is busy at times and so it has been this weekend and it probably will be for a couple of days... I hope you don't mind your M3 plus your chevelle being a little bit delayed?

@ picc84: I think this is as clear as water from a mountain spring to RJ.;) "He ain't callin' himself like that for nothing'.:)"

and about the Classic tuner challenge, I think I shouldn't miss something like that! Although I have to rebuild my tune for Sporty grades, I don't mind really, it remains a pleasure to drive. I might add some 'tailhappyness' most drift oriented racers will enjoy like a fresh mountain pass.

Like RJ mentioned earlier... if the classics challenge goes off as is currently the plan, it would fit nicely into the Classic Racers category with no changes at all! Besides, when sold, it was intended to be a trackday racer anyhow. I read an article a few months ago about one that's still campaigned in all kinds of insane staged rallys and on-track events in Mexico.
I still haven't actually driven yours though... I think I'll fix that this afternoon... have a fresh one sitting in the garage untouched.
