To be fair, it was either let off the throttle or smashdraft the car in front

And yeah, things don't translate well online, that's why I've pretty much stopped posting in the main thread altogether.

I won't be able to do this next week, bowler. Our slo-pitch season has started back up and we have a game scheduled to start just before this does :(
Hate to say this, but I'm gonna eat my words here. I was running last with a few people and I had to let off the throttle during the turns. When I was running in Sundays event, it all went smooth, but for some reason last night, people where up and down all over in the draft. trying to stay ont he bottom line got crazy a few times. When bump drafting, the person in front of you would swing up a bit and then drop back down, and if I didn't let up, then they would have PITed themselves on my car. I think lag and GT5's prediction system had more to do with than anything. That and people running with a DS3, it made a bad mess of the racing last night.

Reminder to all participants. Tonight we will be running the BMW 135i at Motegi SS. Action starts at 8pm pt/11pm et. Hope to see everyone there.

If this started a little earlier i would run it.... But most likely it ends past my bed time.
:(

That was some of cleanest, best race I have been a part of in a long time!
Way to go everyone.

Great racing last night everyone. I hope I didn't screw anyone up too bad by braking early for turn 3. That was just my line, and I was hoping people would get used to it, but with so many cars so close together I can't really blame anyone for getting to the back of me.

My two cents about last nights racing is that it was close all the way and it looked like anyone could draft up to the lead that was in the pack. I was there for a while and then back to the rear, too. It did not take a lot to be dropped from the draft. Had to sneeze and the next thing I'm into the wall (wtf). After that I was lapping in the hi 41s but being over a 1sec back from the pack, and no one to draft with, it just keep getting worse. Still, this is a great format and I hope to be back. Great driving guys!!

What the chance of using the same car in all four tracks, then picking a new car for the next month?

I like this, I think right now is a training / testing phase. Once everyone is comfortable, I bet some fast cars make appearances. Like Race Cars and such.

At least you sneezed. I was riding around minding my own business and on lap 35 my screen froze for two seconds and when it unfroze, I was eight seconds off the lead and out of the pack. On top of that, the results from the heat race show RickyBobbyV8 in third playe, but watching the replay, I beat him to the line. Timing says he got there first so that's what I'll go with becasue we all know different replays can show different things.

Results Post

Heat race: 1. OwensRacing 2. racefan78 3. RickyBobbyV8

Main event:

1........Nic-KL..........16
2.........racefan78.....15 + 2....17
3........HillRacing.......14
4........RickyBobbyV8....12+ 2... 14
5........chatva.........12
6.........OwensRacing.....11 + 3...14
7........dabneyd........10
8........Xrad-11.......9
9.........RacingChamp30......8
10.......JLBowler........7

The winner for the night is racefan78 so he will get to choose what car we take to High Speed ring next week.

I know this is Oval racing but the SNAIL ORL still applies. You only get one blocking move and you can't attempt a bump and run style pass. A little rubbing is going to be allowed but let's keep it within the rules gentlemen. This is your one and only warning.

I would be open to running one car for the month as long as the majority wanted to do it that way and we could find enough cars that wouldn't have to have the power adjusted to compensate for hitting the rev limiter.

Alright guys, my pick for next week's car is the Jaguar XKR Coupe '10. I remember racing with this car at HSR online against a bunch of randoms and it was fantastic. I bet it willbe even more so with SNAILs

Got one ready to gooo!

The second post is updated with the new car selection. Thank you racefan78 for making a selection in a timely fashion and for choosing a car with more than enough gear for the track.

No problem, I already knew ahead of time if I won that was the car i'd pick

Reminder to all. Racing begins tonight at 8PT/11ET. Grab you Jags and get ready to race.

So I broke my Jag in last wednesday. Now I go to grab it out of my garage and it has 0 miles. :ouch: Does anyone happen to have a broken in one sitting around they can send me? If not that's cool.

Edit: nevermind, with the room this full I'd never be able to get back in if I jump out now. Stupid PD, why does a virtual car need to be broken in?

Shoot I forgot about racing this week. :/

I'll try to not make that mistake again. Hadn't been on GTP all day. My 15 yr old dog isn't doing very good. Not sure he will live much longer. May be off for a bit if I lose this guy. He and I been through so much. He's raised my kids. Been through some tough times together. I sure hope he can catch a second wind and pull through.

Hope he stays around for a long while.

Even with two regulars forgetting to show, we still had a fullhouse tonight. 15 guys started the night and 13 started the main event. Fun night altogether. Strategy played a role for me getting a second place finish after a crash cost me a ton of time. Ran the entire 33 laps on the same set of tires. Didn't have a thing left at the end though.

Was a fun race. I was back and forth on if staying out would have worked. Looks like it would have. Might have been a different story if Qwiet hadn't gotten messed up by the pits.

So for next week the car will be: Enzo Ferrari ’02. I wanted something that you had to slow down for the corners but was still a street car. This fit the bill. Hope others like it.

I fell asleep:crazy:. I will try to stay up for next week. Someone tell smiggz we are racing a Ferrari, I'm sure he will be happy.:)

3 spins, my car wasn't broken in, and I still managed a 7th place finish. How does that work out
