San Andreas Killing

Deli, leave Spuds alone with his c*ck problems.....anyway, I tried the Palimino creek triathlon, I came about 3rd in the swim, kicked everyone in the bike untill i hit a lamp post in LV, won the bike by about 6 seconds, then in the run I got mugged, came 3rd last, only just beat the c*ck (only 'cause I hit him a few times down the strip ;)). I had 2% fat, 8% muscle when I started (roughly).

Alright, that'll be enough of the lame jokes. Bring the Triathlon discussion to the General Discussion thread, too, if you wish to take that any further.

Just on killing, do kills count in 2-Player Free Roam? I presume not, but if they do, Blake will now have a fair few more kills to his name after our day-long rampage.

We didn't save ;). Also, I assume they do, and we're probably trhe only ones on this forum who would be able to answer that ;)

call me a noob if you want (after checking my records) but i found you can manually aim with the minigun, So what, well ive got 100% so i have unlimited ammo, ahh now where talking.

what you do is hold R1 and then you are able to to aim manually, This should provide just as good as the VC rocket launcher killing method, in the right hands.

Did anybody already know this and im just slow, or is this a new thing for somepeople.

Already knew it. You can manually aim with most guns, if not all. But it's alright that you didn't know, we all have our moments. ;)👍

err.....uhhh...... the first thing

I've experimented at various locations and really haven't improved upon anything posted so far-- the problem in SA is the respawning of people and vehicles-- in VC if the bodies were far enough away, they would disappear immediately upon looking away, making new people spawn-- it doesn't happen in SA, or I haven't found the right spot (maybe I was too close)...same thing with Ranchers at 5 stars-- you can make them spawn faster by you moving (I think you posted the SF freeway method) but still can't come close the the VC airport method.

Add to this how fast the helis spawn in SA and killing is a chore in SA-- which means you need to be in a covered area in SA or moving constantly--

I really thought the motorbike method around the 4 dragons casino would work (it looked like I was racking up kills) but either the game is not counting them or it just looks faster then what it really was-- my time trial was disappointing.

Add to that the lack of time I have to play and I've only racked up about 15,000 kills :( I really haven't concentrated on finding a good method but there is plenty of time till GTA:next comes out-- time will only tell.

I see, Well the best killin method ive found is vigilante, lots more fun than any method, and you knock out a few records in one go. Distance in heli, Flight time, Legitimate kills (if you dont die) kills since last checkpoint, People Wasted, Criminals killed, Criminals killed on vigilante, police bribes, meals eaten, I cant remeber any more that it effects.

Its still boring and time consuming but its the best method ive found, while the its not the highest method it defiently isnt the boringest.

I use the whole city as a killing ground, just running around doiing drive-bys, eventually my car explodes cuz of the popo, kill them 2, kill the people on the sidewalk, anyone that witnessed my actions, killl their families too, than i walk around with molotov cocktails... i need to stop playing dthis game

Not to be obtuse, but has anyone tried using turf wars to rack up kills?
A lot of people spawn pretty fast, but then they shoot at you. Still, I think someone with a minigun and better aim then me could be pretty effective.

Well i spent ages on it and I only got like 1500 kills. I think it is a bit slow and tedious. If only the gang war didnt end, then it would be good

what if you could start a gang war on the edge of a territory next to a territory of the same gang.. kill some in one territory, they'll chase you to the other, kill them in that territory and start gang wars in multiple territories.. people are currently playing on my ps2 so i can't check it out for myself...

O.K., Emohawk & Small_Fryz, I`ll do my best to explain my killing rampage methods. Keep in mind that this is how I play, and is fun for me, but may suck and/or be boring to you or anyone else. So, without further ado... :dopey:

First, Spuds has touched on what`s probably the single most important tactic to "learn"(providing you want to stay alive). It`s this...COVER! Since there`s two-count`em TWO heli`s after you, cover is way more important than in VC (imo). So, where to take cover & what to do there? It`ll be easier & quicker if I show you, so...

Cranberry Station. I torch the peds inside with molotovs, and run in & out of the place killing people(mostly cops) across the street with the mini-gun and molotovs. You can blow up lots of vehicles passing by too. Just go crazy.
That tank sitting there is mine. Cranberry Station is great if you want to take a tank away from one of those military butt-plugs. Either stand by the front door, or go around to the south side of the building, & wait for him to get out, then bust a cap off in his arse! I use the M4, `cause I like to give them some of thier own medicine :sly:. Just make sure a nearby cop (one that managed to survive!) doesn`t bust you, & make sure the tank driver actually gets out; sometimes they stay inside the tank and try to run you over (sucks when that happens). :grumpy:

This is directly behind Cranberry Station, under the overpass in SF. It`s a decent place to shoot down choppers & get a few kills. During the daytime hours, peds spawn up & down the sidewalk out there. I mostly cut them down with the mini-gun, although falling & exploding choppers do a nice job of landing on top of them too, & looks kinda cool :D. You have to stand close to the edge, otherwise choppers won`t spawn. Also, kill the cops that keep coming at you(I molotov`em). Don`t forget about the armour pick-up either!

This is very near the import/export dock. I go here to destroy a crapload of road vehicles. If you`re gonna rampage here, don`t shoot down the news chopper. You`ll only have to deal with one cop heli that way. Try and shoot down the approaching police chopper asap so it`ll fall & explode before it gets too close to CJ. This is a bad location to shoot down lots of helis because they tend to fall on or near him.

Now this is one of my favorite rampage areas, right next to CJ`s pay n spray. Shoot down choppers as you please, & throw molotovs on top of the tanks, military trucks, military idiots, & ped vehicles that accumilate in the lane below. I could do that for hours! Oops, I already do :sly:. Below is some other stuff I like to do.

You can drive around in a stolen tank, shooting at anything & everything. Remember that the tank won`t last forever. Just get another one!

Jack a motorcycle & do forward drive-bys. I prefer the police bike for this, as it seems less likely for CJ to get knocked off. It`s fairly simple to cruise around with six stars, just be ready to run for cover if your tires get shot out. This actually happened to me today. I was in the vicinity of Palisades(near where Katie lives), & came upon a roadblock. So I jumped off the bike & ran behind a house, threw molotovs at the cops that were surrounding me, and ran up the street. Of course a tank came along, stopped, and the driver got out. I popped him with the M4, got in & drove the tank back to Cranberry Station, kicking a$$ all the way! :sly:

Grab a Hunter, usually from my airstrip. If you want an automatic five stars(sometimes I do), take the one from the naval base. This one`s a no-brainer...blow crap up!! :mischievous:

Take the Rhino from Grove St. & tear a$$ towards SF, destroying everything possible. I haven`t done this lately, it`s about freakin` time to do it again! 💡

If you want to shoot down choppers and not be bothered with anything else, go on top of the pyramid in LV. The slanted sides make the choppers fall away from CJ. You can stay up there indefinately, except you`ll have to get down to eat. Go inside your safehouse to lose the wanted level. You can make it easily, I`ve never gotten killed doing that. :sly: P.S.-I don`t do this anymore. I stay in SF.

So, that`s about it boys. Hopefully I haven`t forgotten anything, but this is basically what I do everytime I play. All the places are within easy walking distance, armor is nearby, plus there`s a Sprunk machine in front of Cranberry Station. Like I said in a different thread, if you need fat, just grab a tank & go to a restaurant. I also grab the armor pick-up near Zero`s if I need to(cruise there in a tank, of course).
Oh, I use the molotovs & mini-gun because they don`t damage CJ. Rocket-launchers and grenades are fun, but it`s much too easy to injure him accidentially when using`em. Have Fun! :)👍

Thanks 👍

Very nice guide!

I doubt i can or will catch any of your records, but I may be able to improve mine a bit more :sly:

I may just have to try out the " right next to CJ`s pay n spray" method :P

Thanks again mate 👍

hey... i havent searched the whole thread but i was wondering if any of u guys did this:
since gta1 i've found that parking a bus or 2 cars to cause a traffic jam. and then blowing up 1 car to set off a massive chain reaction. then just sit back and watch :)

I think i posted a video of a really large chain reaction i set off once before in san andreas. it was beautiful!! the flames

Yeah, I've done that a few times, Gabkicks. I think the record amount of car I've set off is about 15, which I did just behind the Country Club in San Fierro.

Grandpa, thanks for the explanation. Now you might have a bit of eager competition. Though I wouldn't be too worried with your records, stamina and determination. ;)

Certainly provided some variety-- thanks for the pics too.

I have messed around at cranberry station some-- large covered area... also a few garages-- I've messed around mainly trying to get victims to respawn-- just got me frustrated-- VC spoiled me...

Also, you probably know this but just in case you don't, it might save you time.... if you save, you don't need to eat... it resets your eating timer (just like eating a meal)--- also you can play for 48 minutes without losing any fat, another 24 minutes and you will start losing muscle, after 96 minutes you will start losing health--- (I hope I remembered all that correctly)....I'll check and verify.

The fact you don't have any fat or muscle will not affect the times--- you will still last 96 minutes before you lose health....

I had a go at your spot near CJ's pay N spray but got the ****s

Died to quickly from a chopper falling on me.

So then i went and did barnstorming

I think i will stick to just arseing around in cars and stuff, and leave the killing to you

C`mon Small_Fryz, don`t give up so easily! I forgot to mention that if you get overwhelmed or whatever, just run inside the pay n spray. 💡 The choppers will disappear, you can regroup, go back out, & kick butt. Try and shoot down the choppers before they get too close, if possible. It took me a little while to get the hang of rampaging too, but now I can stand there nearly indefinitely. 👍

@Spuds-Yeah, I know peds don`t seem to spawn as easily in SA. It took me awhile to adjust, and I finally convinced myself that SA & VC are just different. I simply don`t compare stats and rampage methods or anything else between the two because it like an apples-to-oranges deal, IMO. On the eating part, it`s good to have the Sprunk machine nearby because you can replenish CJ`s health more easily. It`s saved his bacon plenty of times! I may start saving more often since saving with a six star wanted level doesn`t hurt your stats. I always thought it did( :grumpy: ), so this opens up more rampage possibilities for me :D:tup:👍👍!!

Thanks for the kind words boys! :)👍

The only problem with saving with a 6 star wanted level is that you dont get any stats for "Wanted Stars Evaded"

Plus it also resets the current chase time and the killing since last checkpoint stats.

Thats about all i can think that it effects.

Losing the "Wanted stars evaded" kinda blows, but I`ve got that record pretty well locked up :sly:.
I`m really only concerned with kills not counting toward the "legitimate kills" stat. I`m assuming that non-legit kills don`t add to your criminal rating. The kill-checkpoint & chase time stats are good to keep track of how well you`re doing on a rampage, but otherwise don`t matter too much to me unless I`m going for a record.
BTW, I surpassed 2,000,000 in criminal rating today :D :sly: . Do I have the gumption to get 3,000,000? :nervous:  :boggled:

yes, if you have a 6 star wanted level and you save, the kills are then counted as legitmate 👍, which then adds to you CR. Since its counted as a checkpoint. And because its a checkpoint, it resets the "kills since checkpoint" stat.

Ive done this before and I know it works 👍

Thats how it worked in VC too (kills counting toward your CR)... they just didn't track the legit kills in your stats.

Also, since you are interested in raising your CR grandpalonghair....

For doing brown thunder, you get points for each criminal you kill on vigilante as well as the points for the legitimate kills when you save or exit a pay n spray.... you get 1 CR point for each, so you get double the points for killing while on vigilante--- + the points for all the innocent civilians and cops you "accidently" kill while fighting crime....

Just be sure to survive and not get busted when doing vigilante....

The same points are applied in VC (FYI)....

I like in SA how you can go on a Brown Thunder rampage and then bail out over water. Then if you have a Desert Eagle or something, you can hop on a police boat and speed away somewhere safe for the time-being.

I`ve been thinking about doing more vigilante missions to boost stats...I did them twice to reach max cash & for the NICE boost in cr. My "criminals wasted on vigilante" stat is only about 7,000 or so, unlike the vigilante-mission-doing fiend, T. Vercetti! I may not ever surpass his 73,000+ kills, but may at least achieve a top 5 ranking .
Also, you`ve been getting lots of credit lately for doing an "update". Would you please tell me what exactly has been updated? I keep checking the record book, but can`t see a difference. You know me, I need a knotted rope to find my way sometimes :indiff: :guilty:.

If you look just below the recordbook there is a picture of the GTA rankings-- this is a seperate rankings I maintain, sort of to keep up the competition and let everyone see how they compare with everyone else...

I took each stat category and awarded 5 pts for a 1st place recored, 4 pts for second, 3 for 3rd, 2 for 4th, 1 for 5th....

Then tabulate the results...

http://www.freewebs.com/spuds725/SACOMP.JPG

I hadn't updated for a while and just did-- they were thanking me for updating the rankings... you are ranked #5 which is outstanding considering how long you've been participating...

Also, on the 2nd page of the SA recordbook, I broke down each section of the recordbook and ranked those also.. you own the "killings" section...

I did this to the VC recordbook before but ended it a while ago--- KM was locked in to #1 and I was locked in to #2 (I did pass him for about a day but he took it back and ran away with it)..... and little else was changing....so I discontinued it.... I decided to do it for the SA recordbook since I had some time since Jimmy was going to run it this time.... and he is doing a lot better job then I would have

Grandpa, you wait for T.Vercetti to come back, once he resurfaces again, he will have tremendous Vigilante stats.

Spuds stats are why i submit so many records, even if they are 4th or 5th. Every point counts 👍
