Here are my entries for this week:

Biggest horsepower gain from a sport package:

I make the A4 at 120kW, and the RS4 at 309kW, giving a 157.5% increase in power. If we were to count the diesel, which I think we should as an A4 diesel is a popular specification in Europe, the car's native continent, then the base engine would be rated at 103kW thus giving an even 200% power increase.

RS4 Spot:

Quickest SUV

I couldnt find a Turbo S, so 0-60 in 5.4 seconds.

Biggest horsepower gain from a sport package
Did someone order some fast Audis?

2 RS4's and an RS6, bottom of the range A6 is 130hp RS6 is 450hp thats plus 320hp,
and I dont know how to do percentages.:)

Entries due 6/18 (tomorrow) by 10 pm Eastern Standard Time. I'm hoping for some more.

Yeah, I'd think that has to be an Audi servicing place or something. If that's the case and it's allowed, then I'm just going to head to my Audi dealer tomorrow.

Although if they're just parked like that, that's amazing!

You can't use a dealer.

And I'm not one for pointing out infractions on the rules, your entry just won't count.

Okay, my early entries (I don't know if I'll be home from work on-time tonight):

1) WORST POWER/WEIGHT RATIO

A late-model Pontiac Parisienne presumably equipped with the 307ci Oldsmobile V8 (I believe that is what they used), producing just 140 BHP. Weighing in at 3700 lbs, the power to weight ratio comes in at 26.4lbs per BHP.

BEST SPORT PACKAGE INCREASE

Either I haven't been looking hard enough, or people just aren't driving, but all I've got is a pretty basic "upgrade" if you will...

Its an MKIII VW Jetta GLX VR6, a post-'96 based on the smoked lenses. It was at one point considered a 3-series killer, but the sportiness is indeed somewhat diminished by the hefty weight and FWD layout.

Anyway, power outputs on the basic I4 models (like my Jetta) were set at 115 BHP, and the VR6 models produced 176 BHP. Thats an increase of 61 BHP, or an increase of 54% over the "standard" model.

===

If I spot anything better, or any other categories, and hopefully get home before 10 PM EST, I will update my list in another post.

I forgot I had this.

worst P/W.

My own 1995 Cordoba

dsc00670sw5.jpg

2216lbs and 80hp, I'm just pipped by the Pontiac with exactly 27.7lb per HP

You can't use a dealer.
That's a shame, the my Audi dealer is super nice.

Sports Model

Some AMG Model

It'll have more power than the base for sure, but I'm not exactly sure what model it is.

Results:

Biggest horsepower gain from a sport package: SammiTougeGirl and the RS6 246% gain

Most valuable motorcycle: Bubble Bunny since he was the only one to enter it

Quickest SUV: SammiTougeGirl and the Cayenne Turbo at 4.9 seconds

Worst power to weight ratio: Gashlycrumb and the Mitsu truck at 42hp/ lbs.

Bonus
Audi RS4
Doug
Ferrari Chris
Sammi

Points:
SammiTougeGirl - 3 pts.
Bubble Bunny - 1 pt.
Gashlycrumb - 1pt.
M5Power - 1 pt.
Ferrari Chris - 1pt.

Sammi wins, please come up with 4 categories plus a bonus car. Also please remember to PM them to Boz.

Sammi gets the point this week but in the future, i dont think even tuning garages should count. It makes things so much easier.

Say the category was biggest spoiler, then i can simply drive by the local "tunning garage" full of ricers and snap a pic.

Just an opinion

Its good I didn't win anyway. I'm headed to Miami next week, so I wouldn't be able to judge. However, that doesn't mean that I won't go searching for this week...

She posted 130 to 300 something, and someone came up with that percentage. Also we don't get the RS6 (I don't think) here so I'm not even sure.

Also Diego, if one can not come up with 4 categories plus a bonus car they really shouldn't be playing the game. I can think of categories pretty quickly, it's just the most valuable something or the fastest something.

Inventing them is easy, actually finding is harder

The STi guy next block moved out last week. Saw an empty house and 'For Sale' next to the driveway of the Impreza...

How about "newest car with only one side rearview mirror"?
Smallest spare tyre on a car

I'm not trying to hijack the competition or anything, just looking for new categories so you're not stuck with the same or variations of the same ones. :)

Biggest horsepower gain from a sport package

How is an Audi RS6 a "sport package" of a base Audi A6? It has wholly different suspension, brakes, transmission, a large portion of the bodywork and, last but not least, engine. Oh, and it's 4WD, unlike the base A6s.

At best it's a "sport package" of the normal range-topping 4.2 quattro or at worst the S6, with which it at least shares engine (well... they're all 4.2 V8s) and transmission.

Audi 4.2 quattro: 300hp
Audi S6: 335hp
Audi RS6: 443hp

Making for an at-best increase of 47.7% and an at-worst increase of 32.2%.

At this point the results shouldn't be altered even if you agree with me - it was set out at the beginning of the week as "find the most powerful car you can that has similar-looking but less powerful sisters" and so it should stay like that - but I just can't, personally, class a "sports package" as a car which has every single major mechanical component, a lot of the body and the whole of the interior different from the entry level model.

Isn't the RS models of the Audis the same thing as the SRT, SS, SVT, etc. line of vehicles? Look I don't really know anything about Audi's I will admit that, I honestly thought someone was going to post a Ram SRT-10 and that would be the end of it.

Oh, I thought the base model was the one with the smallest engine.
Anyways what do you think of my catagorys.

Quickest MPV
The people mover with the quickest 0-60 time.

Most valuable Honda/Acura
Its all in the title.

Largest Exaust
Ricetastic

Lightest Car
The car which weighs the least,
its has to be road legal and a car,
so you have to have a car driving liscence to drive it. ok?

Bonus
Vauxhall VXR, Opel OPC, Saturn Redline or Holden HSV.

None of 'em is something I've got a chance here. Lightest car sold, maybe if I snap some antique. MPV - perhaps, if a Buick Rendevous is quick and MPVish enough. Exhausts other than stock are illegal, and the hottest GM here is a Malibu painted black. Most valuable Honda is a CRV.

Sort of, yes, but that was my issue - I didn't mention it at the time because it would impinge on people's spotting time. I just don't class a "sports package" as "everything's changed but the windscreen".

Let's put it this way:

Jaguar S-Type R
4,196cc V8 (supercharged) - 400hp

Jaguar S-Type 4.2 V8 Sport
4,196cc V8 - 300hp

Jaguar S-Type 2.5 V6 Sport
2,497cc V6 - 201hp

The S-Type R can be classed as a "sports package" of the 4.2 V8 Sport because the only real differences are the supercharger and the Brembo brakes, adaptive ride and R suspension as standard (the Brembo brakes, adaptive ride and R suspension are offered as options on the 4.2 V8 Sport). It can't be classed as a "sports package" of the 2.5 V6 Sport because almost every mechanical component is different. In fact the S-Type R really is just a sports package - it's a 4.2 V8 Sport with the brake/ride/suspension options ticked and a supercharger nailed on.

At least that's how it arrives in my head. There's too many fundamental mechanical differences between the base car and the top car for the top car to be classed as merely a "sports package" of the base car. I'd have gone for no better than comparing the top car to the standard range topper so long as they shared a basic engine.

I actually spotted a Renault Megane R26 this week - with 226hp, that'd have given it a 172% increase (that's 2.72 times the power) over the base 83hp 1.5 diesel. I didn't enter it because I don't agree that it's a "power gain from a sports package" - it's a power gain from having a completely different engine - and because I forgot yesterday was Monday. If I'd have spotted a Renaultsport Clio V6 I wouldn't class that (255hp, mid-engined 3.0 V6) as a 325% gain over an entry level 1.2 Clio (60hp, front-engined 1.2 i4)...

As I say, I didn't want to bring this up at the time because it would have encroached on spotting-time and Sammi has won the category based on the rules that were presented. I just wouldn't have presented those rules.

Would power increase from the base trim (not counting the engine) be good enough?

One question: Microcars are pretty big in Europe. That's 4-wheel cars with motorcycle engines... are they valid for the lightest car, since (in Spain at least) you can drive them without a driver's licence?

Does it have to be road legal?
My dad's 4x4 weighs something about 550kg, but there's a smaller tank in there, plus a lot of the body has been removed, etc, etc...

Quickest MPV
The people mover with the quickest 0-60 time.

Thats a minivan for us Americans, so don't expect any Renaults or Peugeots. It should be interesting though, I'm going to have to do some research for this one. It will probably come down to a Toyota or Honda, I'm sure...

Most valuable Honda
Its all in the title.

Are we counting the Acura models as Hondas? Models like the NSX and Legend (RL) are sold as Acuras in the United States and Canada.

Largest Exaust
Ricetastic

Not too difficult.

Lightest Car
The car which weighs the least,
its has to be road legal and a car,
so you have to have a car driving liscence to drive it. ok?

Shouldn't be too outstandingly hard. Problem is, "lightweight" isn't as easy to come by in the US as it is in Europe or Asia. We'll do our best though, there are a few lightweight racers around here...

Bonus
I would say Vauxhall VXR, but thats a bit unfair.
Im sure theres a hot GM product wherever you live.

Well, do you want to do "hot" GM front drivers?

In North America, you've got two options: The Chevrolet Cobalt SS or the Saturn Ion Red Line.

...The Saturn is a bit more rare than the Chevy (I rarely see them), but to keep things on an even keel with the VXR, the Cobalt SS (must be the S/C version I'm sure...) would be the car to go for...
