What is a Vauxhall VXR? Is that the same thing as our Sky?

VXR is a badge applied to range-topping "hot" models. There's Astra, Corsa, Vectra and Zafira VXRs (the last of which will do well for fastest MPV too).

Well since Opel/Vauxhall/Saturn are pretty much the same thing I guess we could just do Redline models.

Let's make it Vauxhall Astra VXR/Opel Astra OPC and Saturn Ion Redline. And the Honda has to be a Honda.

I agree on doing the Astra VXR and the ION Red Line. They're both moderately rare, both are pretty quick on their feet (yes, a "quick" Ion), and obviously both come from GM. Getting Cobalt SS' would probably be too easy for Joey and I...

As for the Honda thing, I'm in the camp that is calling to include Acuras. We get their Accord as our TSX, they get our RL as the Legend, the MDX is sold as a Honda in Australia and Japan, and the TL floats around as well (I think).

...That would put us Americans at a distinct disadvantage. That is, if people are indeed odd enough to buy the RL/Legend (and the sort) throughout the rest of the world...

She posted 130 to 300 something, and someone came up with that percentage. Also we don't get the RS6 (I don't think) here so I'm not even sure.
...
This is the best run competition ever!

And I vote for Hondas only - no Acuras.

...And yet again I point out that several of the "Hondas" you have in New Zeland are indeed Acuras sold in the United States and Canada...

Without Acuras in the fold, the foreign-market folks (ie, those of you outside North America) are going to be able to run away with it without much of a problem. Cut off the NSX, cut off the RL/Legend, and we're left maxing out with either an S2000 (a fairly easy spot, $34K) or a Ridgeline (if we're doing MSRP, we're looking at $28K). The RL/Legend? A rather-high $43K is the starting point, and unless we're absolutely certain that we've got all the option boxes checked on that Honda SUV of choice, I don't see the Americans fairing all that well...

Keep in mind, most folks here drive Accords (US spec) or Civics (again, US spec), so we're lucky to see too many Honda cars cresting much over $30K on average...

===

But this isn't my decision... I just think we need to count the Acuras...

You consider an S2000 as an easy spot. I see about 1 a month. :S

NSXs? Never seen one in my area.

It'd be funny if it ends up being a Civic Type R... retail price in Europe is around 30,000€, or $40,000... is it that expensive in the US? Oh, you don't gte the Type R, but is there such a thing as a 40K Civic?

We should've cleared up the VXR/OPC thing... I spent around 3 hours yesterday walking around looking for a VXR and couldn't find any... I saw two OPCs... of course, in my ignorance I didn't know VXRs were only Vauxhalls

If you don't like it you don't have to play. Really it's no big deal, it's just a few of us screwing around.

No the SI isn't even that much.

Thanks for including Acura. It should even things up just a bit...

On the expensive Honda-Honda issue, there aren't $40K Civics in the US. The exchange rates get funky, but for the most part, we're paying about the same as you do over there.

...And as far as I'd be concerned with VXR/OPC, I'd say they're the same thing. All of the OPC models are sold as VXRs in the UK, and all the VXRs are sold as OPC models in Europe. Its all the same...

Probably should also point out that for New Zealand catagories like 'Furthest License Plate' are pretty much impossible. It works both ways.

We do mostly get the Acura badged models in the UK and Europe (NSX and Legends) - it's just that they sold in single figure numbers so you never actually see them.

To my knowledge the bonus is ANY hot GM product. I let an Ion Redline go today since the original poster decreed ANY vehicle and I'm holding out for a Z06.

Obviously Acuras have to count - if they didn't, Americans would destroy foreigners anyway because the top-spec Odyssey is more valuable than any Honda sold overseas (presuming that you guys 'will never see' an NSX). And obviously if the NSX is out for us, it is for you too. Either way, this category gives the Americans a huge advantage - an American better win!

I think SammiTougeGirl changed it.

Bonus
Vauxhall VXR, Opel OPC or Saturn Redline.

I too wish it could be ANY hot GM product because where i live, ive seen a lot more z06's than Redline saturns

Fine - though in the future can people please stick to cars possessed by ALL nations as we've each done in the past (RS4, AMG convertible, etc.)? It's a lot easier to see a VXR Vauxhall than it is to see a Redline Saturn.

ok, i found both the z06 and the SS today. I know im being a bit hypocritical here but Sammi, let me know if they count. If not, then i'll go look for an ION redline

Edit* and i guess the TL beside the z06 will be my entry for most expensive :dopey: honda for now

Bubble Bunny, that's not a Cobalt SS. That's a Pontiac G5 with the SS spoiler. I don't know why anyone would buy one, much less GM even think about selling them. Also, I estimate the girl driving it to be approximately 3 feet tall. If that airbag blows she'll be messed up.

An MPV is a minivan, not a cross-over right?

Anyways I got a quick mini van from Japan, an expensive Acura, and a riced out Altima that has some huge pipes on it.

It's a lot easier to spot a car from 5,000 miles away in a country that spans a continent than on one that is an island.

It's still possible though.

When I was in the UK I saw cars from all over the world - including several on Arab plates. I'll get the damn Saturn photo tonight.
