Or...

No Honda is more valuable, except an '02-'05 NSX. Anyone?

Ricer exhaust...

Quickest van...

scavenger-062407.jpg

This is the new Sienna - note the new front end - with the 270hp 3.5-liter V6 doing 0-60 in 6.8sec.

Lightest car:

730kg.

Wins across the board.

Note I also get the point for the Redline spot.

Famine has you on the lightest vehicle.

I don't think I'll win exhaust either. In fact I'm not expecting to get a point beyond the Redline spot. I guess I'll default win on 'most expensive Honda' and maybe the van thing.

So does the guy in the tC not realize that the tip is supposed to point down? Right now it's just acting as a water funnel.

I think we need to start making categories really clear cut because we are getting to many difference from all over the world. There is no way on God's green earth that Mercedes is a mini-van but whatever. Everything should give the most amount of information possible.

Example:

- Most valuable (converted to USD) Nissan
- Quickest white car (0-60/62 mph).
- Longest wheel base (inches) on a sedan (cars with four doors only).

This way if it comes around to Monday night we can know who won without waiting on the judge. Also I think if the winner hasn't given new categories within 24 hours we should go on to the second place winner.

Oh Joey how I love you.

I'd say give the category maker some more time, because she's in the UK and that means she's asleep now. It's only fair.

Your points are very well taken though.

EDIT: by the way, regarding the Mercedes R-class. To me it IS a minivan. However, I photographed both an R350 and an R500 (and a Sienna and an Odyssey - shoot first and ask questions later) and looked up the 0-60 times - it's slower than the Sienna no matter what. Unless someone gets the R63 spot, they can't topple us.

I just got home now.... 3:12 in the morning, but seeing Sammitougegirl havent judged this week's photo's yet, i'll include what i took today.

Most expensive Honda...

Biggest (and probably most) exhaust

.
- Longest wheel base (inches) on a sedan (cars with four doors only).

So what about the Mondeo Hatchback? It IS a sedan, yet it has 5 doors.

I don't mean to be a pain, but if we're going to make categories standard for everyone across the world, we need to have a consensus. What you classify as a crossover is perfectly an MPV or minivan here. The sedan question is self explanatory and the US-spec standard for sub-compact car is the equivalent of a family car here.

And I refuse to measure a car in inches.

Personally I think that over regulating it kind of sucks the fun out of it a wee bit. So long as the cars are available in each country then some region specifc querks makes it a bit more interesting. Some times you have it easy, some times a bit more difficult. Its all part of the challenge.

Quickest MPV
M5Power - Toyota Sienna 0-60 in 6.8secs

Most valuable Honda/Acura
M5Power - Honda NSX, thanks Famine.

Largest Exaust
ferrari_chris - this was hard to tell the size relitive to each other.

Lightest Car
Famine - Microcar Virgo 370kg

Bonus
Redline - Joey D
HSV - Gashlycrumb
HSV - ferrari_chris
Redline - M5Power

Points
M5Power - 3pts
ferrari_chris - 2pts
Joey D - 1pt
Famine - 1pt
Gashlycrumb - 1pt

Most valuable Honda/Acura
M5Power and Joey D - Acura Rls. As Legends are more expesive than old NSXs here I think thats right.

Parkers.co.uk
Honda Legend ('06 on): £36,262 - £40,112
Honda Legend ('94-'01): £32,242
Honda NSX 3.0 V6 Auto ('90-'95): £63,447

Largest Exaust
ferrari_chris - this was hard to tell the size relitive to each other.

I think my GTO, ferrari_chris's Prelude and Takumi's Impreza all have the same exhaust - a big APEXi jobbie - and Doug's Scion has the same bore but a slightly different tip.

So what about the Mondeo Hatchback? It IS a sedan, yet it has 5 doors.

Which is why we need specific categories.

And I refuse to measure a car in inches.

Then if someone does a category like that no one is going to force you to play the game.

Oh god. Measuring in inches is the same as measuring in Cms. It's not like Euro-price Vs. US pricing...

I'm just saying that if a category says that the measurements will be converted.

More general categories may get us more participation...

I'm just saying that if a category says that the measurements will be converted.

aren't you supposed to be in UK?

I'm leaving for the airport in a few hours, my flight got jacked up for some reason and instead of leaving this morning like I was supposed to now I'm leaving tonight at 9:30 pm EST. It's a long story but it's taken care of now.

Just a question, why was Doug's nsx more expensive than mine even though they were the same generation nsx?

You submitted at 3:22am. She judged at 7:40am. Maybe it took her four and a half hours to judge, and so she pressed 'post a reply' before you got your post up.

Yep, that's it.

Categories will be up in a couple of hours. I'll tend to the scoreboard in Joey's absence.

New categories:

1. Pickup truck with the most stuff in the back.
2. Most bumper stickers.
3. Vehicle most likely to be driven by an old person.
4. Most outrageous rims.

Bonus: Land Rover LR2

Good luck folks!

DUE MONDAY EVENING - you have only six days.

1. Pickup truck with the most stuff in the back.
.

Pickup truck? In Europe? There's only like 12 in all of Europe.

2. Most bumper stickers.

Such an americanism. Who puts bumper stickers in Europe?

3. Vehicle most likely to be driven by an old person.

Caddies and Lincolns aren't Euro-friendly. I think I've seen three Cadillacs in my stay here and they've all been new and sporty.

4. Most outrageous rims.

I'll be sure to go by the Hindu ghetto and find me one.

DUE MONDAY EVENING - you have only six days

Really funny since it was posted at 3:51am of the wednesday.

Old people still drive cars in Europe...otherwise Honda wouldn't sell any Accords in the UK and Opel would struggle to sell any Vectras. Also who do you think the Mitsubishi Charisma was aimed at? :)

There's a winner in this Category which is sold everywhere. It starts with a C, but it's just as common in Europe.

er... we don't get the Charisma... or at least not lately. Older people here drive either the Yaris, the Pug 206 or Citroën CX
