Agreed, I like the idea when applied correctly but to make only that much power is silly when the fa turbo in the legacy is doing production numbers just under 300.

Twincharged? I approve. Buut.. It's lacking 200 horses.

I agree. The twincharging is impressive and will be the first time a car manufacturer does this (excluding tuners who do this.)

But they should try to boost it up to 450-480hp, then they need to rebuild the suspension and chassis so the car can handle the power so it can have a proper weight-to-power ratio.

Set to debut at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon, the Griffon was recently tested at the Tsukuba Circuit whereit posted an astonishing lap time of 1:01:872.

Toyota says the car has been equipped with a stiffer and lighter body as well as a track-oriented suspension and exhaust system.

Stock ones did a lap at Tsukuba in 1:09:776 1:11:394

I want to see what one can do with an LS3, huge fat slicks, and a driver so greasy his nuts each have a parted pompadour.

Lancia Delta S4 Stradale would like to have a word with you.

While there were only 200 of them made, it still counts.. And yes, it is twincharged just like the rally version.

Calling it right now, 2013 Quote of the year.

Doesn't matter what you do to it, LS3 or not, nothing is as impressive as the 52.6 that Under Suzuki just ran in his S15. Everything else seems slow in comparison. :P

No, if I bought an FR-S with the intention of doing a swap: Turbo EG33 OR Find a way to get a Boxster motor to work.

Who cares about 200 specialty cars (the fact that they're Group B cars and thus instant legends doesn't matter in this case) while there were 10.000 Nissan March Super Turbos made in 1989 and several models of the VAG model range used the 1.4 TSI in 2005-2009. I'd say the impressiveness of twincharging takes quite a hit when models like March, Touran and Tiguan are thrown into the mix. :P

Then, I'll take it back. :)

Switch the LS3 to BMW V8 and I might agree.

Or the V8 from the IS-F, then turbocharge it.

If I had one, I would swap a 1JZ/2JZ, SR20, IS-F's V8, LS6/7, 6.4L Hemi or a VR6. Heck, I'll put a 20B rotor engine inside one. So many ideas.

Well, that is true, but the S4 Stradale was the first one, then the March follows, Touran and Tiguan, though the VWs are newer and more recent. :P

Quite like the front end on that actually, and yeah it does look FTO-like. Would even look better just by removing the huge rear wing. The squared-off lights have a nice mix of retro and modern to them.

Hard to say. The reflections are unflattering. The doors don't seem to match anything else, yet in the 3/4 rear image you can see they blend perfectly into the front wings, yet they don't match the front wings in the front 3/4 image. I think the mix of curves and flatter areas is playing tricks with the light.

Edit: Have we had the TRD one from TAS yet? If not:

From here. Might look even better without the slightly heavy-handed bodykit. I like the smaller wheels, but they look a bit drowned out with the large front lip and side skirts.

The small wheels would look much better with decent fitment, a little stretch and more low. The body kit certainly isn't helping.

Meaty tires only look good on small, wide wheels. Needs another inch and some stretch. And those wheels are fugly anyway. Totally don't work on that car.
