Fellas, can the Import vs. Export talk, It has nothing to do with GT4. In fact, don't even bother with that crap until either of you become CEO of Honda or Ford.

Yeah, that "bouncy" feeling had ame a little worried. But I've never seen it in the races, just the race warm-up and once or twice on the cool-down laps.

I guess it's just a glitch in the matrix, right?

It only happens at the begining like during the rolling start and on one course for about the first 5 seconds after the rolling start. Does anyone know what the deal is with this? Do I have to change some settings or something? It isn't my TV obviously because it happens at the exact same time, and my TV is a brand New Wega. Any idea's guys? Or is this a stupid glitch I will have to get used to? :indiff:

this is not "screen bouncing" it's not a bug either.. it's called framerate loss, oddly enough, it happens less when you are using component cables (be it 480i, 480p or 1080i) but it still happens in any resolution, PD pushed the PS2 too hard, and this is the result, so get used to it, it's 60 FPS most of the time.. but it will suffer from framerate problems evry now and then, but it's so rare it's really a non issue.

Ok, so what's my problem? Intro skipping like a broken record... After I pressed a button and got past that opening movie, my game seemed ok... I'm just worried down the line, something might happen and I won't be able to play anymore... Just need to get a lens cleaner? Any suggestions? Thanks!

My new HDTV should be here next week, Im hoping that solves it...or at least makes it a little more Bearable, Any Opinions on how 1080i looks?

Happy driving!

The same thing sometimes happened in GT3 while the screen was fading out. It seems a lot more noticeable in GT4 since it happens in replays and stuff, but it hasn't happened to me during a race yet. As long as it stays that way, it's not too bad.

actually instead of it being a bug, just think of it like if the car was starting off and it was shaking when it shifts, like in NFSU when your playing drag and the camera moves all wacky , just think its like that. that'll make it no that annoying

Slurp

PAL runs at 10hz less than NTSC, and 60hz is already barely acceptable.

Playing stuff like Half-Life 2 on my computer, I notice it when my framerate drops from 85fps to 60.

I even bought a TV tuner card, thinking I could play GT3 on my monitor, as it boasted, "Turn your computer into a high definition television!"

Yeah.. high definition 320x240 resolution at 29hz.

After 30 minutes, you have a headache and your eyes feel like you're ready for bed.

I was NOT impressed with that purchase.

But I'm wondering; what exactly is this jittering/shaking like, and how badly does it affect things?

It only really noticeable affects the numbers for me. The end race menu, when jittering, looks like the numbers all got copied over but shifted 1/10th of an inch down.

It's tough to explain :)

It happens to me too A LOT!!!!! I'm using component cable on 1080i mode (HDTV). When I switch to Normal mode it gets a little better. I switched back to my old standard RCA cables and while the graphics are of lower quality, the flickering is a little better.
I DON'T think using HDTV mode improves the appearance of the bouncing at all! It actually makes it more noticeable in some situations + it acts funny everytime you get in the race.

But who cares? the gameplay is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The M3 rocks!!!!!!!

edit: I got my PS2 in September, it's the last "larger model" that came w/ the network adapter. So I'm assuming the "bouncing" has really nothing to do with how new or clean you leanses and/or reader are.

I have the Chinese version, the screen NEVER BOUNCED once in 1080i mode on my TV(42" Sony Grand Wega LCDRP).

BestBuy doesn't have the OEM Sony component cable for sale. Go to somewhere else to find one. I don't recommend any Monster Cable product. They are overpriced.

This is the Sony one:

this screen shaking is a frame rate issue, whenever every car is on the screen the frame rate drops and the screen shakes, you cant buy cables to fix it, just happens when six cars are all reflecting everything around them, if you use the bumper cam the most the problem doesnt happen as often, certain places though will cause it to happen every time. oh well it sucks, but it also means that the PAL version will most definitly behave the same way.

It seems to happen every time on Special Stage Route 5 on a rolling start. Its driving me crazy. I hope 1080i Helps
I agree. SSR5 is the worst for this. Twin Rings is also pretty bad about it also.

personally it happens to me, at the beginning of some races and also during the licenses tests, at the end where the dudes clap n have a gay powwow together about how well u drove, it doesnt bother me but it does at the same time lol, i think they should fix the problem and do a recall and have the people who recieved the game already be able to swap the game for a brand new one with the bug fixed, that way we'll all be happy. 👍

I think its an issue with the PS2s limited Vram... hear me out here

when the 'jitter' happens is almost looks like it is drawing the 1st field of the interlaced image twice. I don't know if that is what is happening for sure, but thats what it looks like ot me.

doesn't effect gamplay at all, but it sure is annoying.

Yeah happens to me too.

I have some old Sharp TV. So if its happening on new TV's aswell, it must be something to do with the game, this has never happened before.

Its not that bad, sometimes it happens when i hit R1 to look behind the car.
Hasnt happened to me in B-spec yet (which i like very much)

Either way, the game owns.

Many have said that its amazing that PD has gotten such remarkable graphics performance out of the venerable PS/2. Do you suppose its just a matter of them going a bit too far, and the graphics capability of the PS/2 can't keep up sometimes?

maybe PD should have waited one more year and made it for PS3 , maybe the bug wouldnt have happened cause the PS3 will have kick ass graphics and better Vram

Mine does the same thing. At first I thought it was the d-skin I bought for it I took that off and it still does it. 🤬
GT 4 is very disapointing

Hmm... I see everyone is having the same bouncing problem huh.. well I get the bouncing problem always on the start of the race when its on auto pilot and as well when it's on the replay.. makes my M3 look horrible.. yes I am dissapointed can't you tell??? :(

i play gt4 on my pc....lcd.. i get that same shake-o-vision for about 3 seconds on a rolling start ;[

I'm getting the jitters with the 6 cars but I also had noticable shaking during the opening menus. The menus were jittery when I was transfering my GT3 game over, is this happening to other people as well?

Anyone with brand new slim ps2 model having jitter problems? because maybe its time to upgrade or call sony and ***** at them :)

For me it jitters at the start and on laguna seca it getters on the turn before the 90 degree angle turn that leads up to the finnish line.

Im using old ps2 which still has firewire port

The jittering reminds me of what used to happen on a regular TV on the Commodore Amiga when you ran it in hi-res mode.

Had a bit of it myself. At the start of my very first Nurburgring race, and it stopped the instant control was handed to me.

Saw the same issue on Prologue too.
