Correct me if im wrong but doesn't sage mean: Having wisdom that comes with age and experience ? the guy's 16 year's old!!! IMO he's another biased american! :nervous: prepare the bomb shelter NTSC is comng from all directions and bad colour is spraying everywhere!!

Again. Noise hole. Shut it. Please. 👎

It happens to me too A LOT!!!!! I'm using component cable on 1080i mode (HDTV). When I switch to Normal mode it gets a little better. I switched back to my old standard RCA cables and while the graphics are of lower quality, the flickering is a little better.
I DON'T think using HDTV mode improves the appearance of the bouncing at all! It actually makes it more noticeable in some situations + it acts funny everytime you get in the race.

But who cares? the gameplay is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The M3 rocks!!!!!!!

edit: I got my PS2 in September, it's the last "larger model" that came w/ the network adapter. So I'm assuming the "bouncing" has really nothing to do with how new or clean you leanses and/or reader are.

I believe maxeva69 is Australian.

Dont forget we PAL guys are under alot of stress due to the extra waiting after seeing the fun you guys are having :(. (not that I condone any breakage of AUP and TOS)

well, if the problem is not something that can be fixed with the "optimaization" for PAL Tvs, then I highly doubt it, as there simply isnt enough time between releases to correct this. It's been said however that the jumping problem is an interlacing issue, so perhaps its something that was addressed and was able to be fixed for the PAL release.

i'm getting bounce in vegas strip when you start but it goes away after a while. Also happens after the license tests too.

I've noticed the screen bounce thing quite heavily in my 5 hours of play since I've gotten the game. It happens at the beginning of most every race that I enter and does it on about half of the lisence tests. I know for a fact that it is not my PS2 as it is a model from August 2003 which has only logged maybe a weeks worth of playtime since I bought it back then. Its very annoying.

correct me if im wrong whats the difference between 50 fps and 60fps couse normanl human i can see any lagging over 30 fps?? and whats up with super-video cabel??how can i connect it to my ps2??or do i have to have some sort special s-vid cabel??does it emprove picture quality or something??help noob ..

PAL rocks NTSC sucks :P plain and simple...

PAL runs at 10hz less than NTSC, and 60hz is already barely acceptable.

Playing stuff like Half-Life 2 on my computer, I notice it when my framerate drops from 85fps to 60.

I even bought a TV tuner card, thinking I could play GT3 on my monitor, as it boasted, "Turn your computer into a high definition television!"

Yeah.. high definition 320x240 resolution at 29hz.

After 30 minutes, you have a headache and your eyes feel like you're ready for bed.

I was NOT impressed with that purchase.

But I'm wondering; what exactly is this jittering/shaking like, and how badly does it affect things?

The graphics get kinda blurry and its much like someone is shaking the TV really quickly for a few seconds .. normally no more than 2. I've only noticed this before the race/lisence test however, not during the actual race.

this sounds really annoying...i hate graphical problems :(

but i can´t recall that Amar that got the PAL version ever said anything about this

There was a similar "screen bouncing" effect in the Japanese demo, especially when choosing the type of tyre on the cars.

Can anyone who has both the demo and the US GT4 confirm if it's a similar effect? As long as it doesn't happen in-race, I see it as a minor cosmetic problem.

Well, once my US GT4 arrives (I'm in the UK) and I get the PAL GT4 in March I can make a good comparison between the two. Will there be "screen bouncing" in my US copy and the PAL game? I'll find out in due course.

Well from what I gather the Pal version shouldn't suffer and i've also been been reliably informed that optimized pal games actually run as fast as their NTSC counterparts.

HyperDrift
Just got the game...And im experiencing bouncing as well...AND THE WHOLE GAME FROZE ON ME ONCE!!!!! ARGHHH
Wow, thats not good! I guess the auto save feature actually helped you on that one!

I've got the same "tearing" in 480p and in 1080i on all tracks during all mods of play. Mostly it hapens if the camera is viewing and "open" area of the track with lots of scenery. It's like they left the vsync turned off...

Other than this the game is fine... kinda wierd though. This is the kind of bug I don't want. I don't car if they mess up hp and tourque figres, but the graphics SHOULD be rock solid as in the past. This is my biggest gripe about the game so far after 2 hours of play.

If they ever fix this with a new version, I want my money back!

There were a couple people who posted before with a skipping problem on the intro. Anyone else have this? It's quite annoying. Granted, I can skip by and actually play the game (SO FAR). I'm just hoping something further down the line doesn't mess up even worse. Anyone have the same problem, bring it back and get a new one, and it still happens?

I also have the other problem as well. But if everyone has that, then that's not a big deal. I can deal with the jittering. Atleast that doesn't skip.

Anyone?

Also, since I might have to... What's a good lens cleaner for the ps2? Where can I pick one up??

hello

i think sony will issue a recall when half of us start having eye problems, its been blurry for me too but i cant take my eyes away :-\

It only happens at the begining like during the rolling start and on one course for about the first 5 seconds after the rolling start. Does anyone know what the deal is with this? Do I have to change some settings or something? It isn't my TV obviously because it happens at the exact same time, and my TV is a brand New Wega. Any idea's guys? Or is this a stupid glitch I will have to get used to? :indiff:

I believe it is supposed to be like that. The picture moving around simulates the soft suspension a car has at high G ratings. It makes the game more realistic but a little harder to see.

Well it sure does suck that they couldent fix a bug like that, makes have to agree that this game should not have been delayed for 4 years. If the ps2 supported game updates life would be great but we will have to wait for the PS3, or go buy a computer ;)

BTW American muscle cars do suck, I'd buy a japanese car over a, lets break down in a month ford any ****ing day. Have you silly americans see the new Charger? Can they make a vehicle any more unoriginal and ugly, stick a famous name on it and call it a muscle car?
Halarious
the 05 GTO is nice but thats it.
ps. I'm from Canada and we are not going to put missles on our cost so that someone has a reason to attack us, idiots.

I usually stay out of those battles about Japanese vs. US cars. However, having owned both a 93 Mustang GT, and a 93 300ZX, I gotta admit, my Mustang had less problems mechanically than the Z. Z was higher quality on accessories, but when crap went wrong with it, it was obscure and expensive to fix (e.g. crank angle sensor getting out of whack, and the car not starting--imagine troubleshooting that with a coil-on-plug ignition). The only mechanical problem I had with my Mustang is a shredded 3rd gear from too many powershifts. A Tremec aftermarket tranny fixed that. If I put my Zs tranny through the same motions it would probably snap in half. So if it ever comes down to it, for a 'toy' car, I'd buy a Japanese car, but for a daily driver I'll go either European or American. Personal preference and experience here...
On the rest of it? I am neither a Canadian nor an American, so here I am objective. I haven't seen anything automotively worthy come out of Canada EVER. So what place do you have to foam at the mouth??? Idiotic responses like that is what gives the rest of the community an image of Canadians as USA's lesser brethren with an inferiority complex. No offense, I just think that's stupid!
