In addition to Red Bull and Sauber, it turns out that Toro Rosso is launching their car today as well, with the unveiling scheduled for 4:30pm GMT. Discuss.

I request that the name of this thread be changed to Red Bull Driving Academy RBDA7 Launch.

STR's existence is justified by the hope that they will one day beat Red Bull proper and we'll all have a jolly good chuckle.

I think they allready did... Toro Rosso actually took their first win before Red Bull Racing...

STR existence is a development ladder to finding the next Vettel for Webbers seat when his contract expires, lol!

This going to be absolutely horrendous.

I think their stepped-nose looks much closer to Caterham's... Is it me or the nose and the wing seems to be very high?

STR is never something I wake up and really can't wait to see released. Each year is the same thing with me, I find STR boring. I just like their livery slightly more than their Big Sister.

That looks good actually..!

Perhaps they could've had less of CEPSA on the rear wing. That kind of ruined the whole thing.

Wow that’s certainly the ugliest nose I've seen so far, it looks like someone glued an ironing board on the front

I seriously hope the FIA reconsider the rule for next year to save people from the pure ugliness we are being subjected to, :scared:

That looks much better than I was expecting!

Seconded.

Much better looking than its big brother. But I think only one of them will be getting race wins...

They're still using Ferrari engines, correct? So it's another year alongside Sauber for them then.

Well, the slope looks pretty small this time, and that's good. Finally another remotely sane manufacturer 👍

If they hadn't got rid of Alguersuari. 👎

Riccardo or w/e he's call is not so good, seeing what he did last year it's really not impressing. Vergne on the other hand, I'll wait to say anything. I think he might be quite good, seeing the time he did in the young driver test at the end of last year. Also he was developping the Red bull car the whole year on simulatior so he might be able to give good feedback to the team.

Not so good? Sorry but what were you expecting from him? Points? Fastest laps? Remember this, he was driving a HRT. There's not much a rookie or any driver for that matter can do to prove themselves in a HRT, other than beat their team mate. Which Daniel did. In fact it wasn't too long before Ricciardo was out pacing and fishing ahead of the vastly more experienced Vitantonio Liuzzi in the sister HRT on a regular basis, both in qualifying and races. So how did he not impress?

He was expecting Senna esque like Toleman drives from Daniel. Obviously:dopey:

Toleman weren't the worst backmarker team back then. Prior to Senna's debut, they scored 10 points in the 1983 season back when points were 9-6-4-3-2-1. There were definitely worse teams out back then.

But on topic, I thought Ricciardo did okay. What else could he do in the F111? He turned up, was well on the pace relative to his team mate and was consistant. He'll get points this year, it's just a case of how few or how many.

Oh really ? My memory must sucks I thought it was pretty close. Did the math and its 12-7 for Riccardo, better then expected. However Liuzzi isnt that impressing in my eyes. But yeah guess you were right. We'll see this year.

Haha, that would definitely count as extreme ironing!

I'm quite taken by this car, actually. I hope it can perform.

No I know but gradually got a bit worse as it went on and to be honest pulled off some good results because of Senna. However cars are built to a higher extreme today then back then. The point was he took not the best car in the world and made it seem great (at times), I'm asking if RX-7 was looking for that kind of drive from him in a HRT. I was just picking at that users post because none of us here can gauge Daniel yet especially not from a part time HRT drive last year. We have to go look at his feeder results, but even then that is only an assumption of what to expect in F1. Then there is the variable of if the STR is actually good this year.
