Yes. I don't think that the SLR McLaren was out at the release of GT4, or any concept car, for that matter, and it seems unlikely that one of Bruce McLaren's creations would be present in GT2, let alone any kind. Did they just call it a McLaren, or was there a model name attached, such as the F1?

It would have to be the F1, because at the time it was McLaren's only model. That being said, the original SLR McLaren concept was shown in early 1999, so who knows?

I know. Many people tried this supposed buy all black cars thing and FINALLY confirmed that it was a hoax. Hell, even the the guy who made it up admitted it...

I have found a video of the hidden cars in GT2. I have posted the video below, then I have copied the video description of the youtube website as I am not the slighist bit bothered to copy it myself. And rember, I did not make this video. The person driving is not me. Enjoy! :)

Cars featured in this video:

Mercedes CLK Race Car
Volkswagen Polo 1.4 16V
Vauxhall/Open cars
Honda Integra '98

The Mercedes has amazing braking ability, demonstrated by me in this video. I think it's amazing how late you can brake with this car. Why it was removed from the game, I have no idea.

The Volkswagen Polo is a standard small car. It's nothing special but a nice addition to anyone's collection, seeing that it's usually unobtainable. No idea why it was removed.

The Vauxhall/Opel cars aren't usually obtainable on the same game, but by changing the language to German, you can access both of the dealers.

The Honda Intergras: They arent included in the NTSC version, but were in the PAL version.

However, it is sad that the CLK Race Car seems to be brutally outclassed on the straights, though...

Good video.

It is a good video is'nt it. However, please remember that I did not make this video. Youtube's MattJ155 made this video. He typed up the description aswell. I just copied out the description. But then, I lended up deleting certain puts of it, just to try to avoid confusion about who actually made the video!

Edit: It was not me driving either.

It's a real shame the CLK Race Car wasn't allowed to be in the game, looks like a nice car 👍

Great topic btw :)

So there is hard evidence of a CLK Race Car in GT2, but what about the CLK-GTR with decals (D2 Privat) on it?

This is one of the first prictures that Gamespot put on their site:

from this page: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/image_viewer/frame_lead.php?pid=197469&img=304&sid=undefined

Is is just a body or a whole car? :)

Looking at the picture, it seems to be the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR '97.

I still hope, that one day we get a game for the pc like Gran Turismo 2, with downloadable content (as it took just 1 day to make a car, imagine what we could get in a few years development...).

I don't know much about the whole CLk thing, but here's what Pupik had to say in post #4 of this thread

The CLK-GTR has been discussed ad infinitum before on these forums. There was a preview disk that contained an image of the CLK-GTR (just like the GT4 prize car). There were also pre-release screenshots showing the CLK-GTR. In the end, the CLK-GTR did not appear as a drivable car, nor is any of the car information available hard-coded on the disk in any version of the game.

Speculation leads us GT2 fans to believe that PD created the "CLK Race Car" in response to the CLK-GTR's exclusion from the game. For some reason, it's hidden in every version of the game. It's a truly hidden car, like the Volkswagen Polo, or the Shelby GT500KR...no body or engine codes need to be added; you just punch in the code for the purchse of the car with a GameShark (or equivalent) and you buy it with your credits. You can also buy it off someone else's memory card.

The CLK Race Car (also informally called the CLK DTM) shares no resemblance to the CLK-GTR, as they are not the same car as all.

Since I had GT2, but then I tried to clean it on a rough carpet and scratched it (8 years old :ouch:), is it legal to download a torrent? If so can someone give me a good one? Do they make ePSXe for Mac OS? If so, can you show me? If not just show me Windows, I'm planning to run boot camp anyway.

Thanks. :)

Yeah, I agree with Alonsomania. Gran Turismo for PC with free downloadable content would be very fun... But it isn't realistic...

And for torrents I don't know if it's legal.

Or better yet, one for PSP?...

I paid for the game, it's just lost now so I think it should be legal.

I don't care about downloadable content though, but it would be very nice.
