Nice video. Are there more tracks or have you accounted for all of the tracks?

I might have got them all, but I have a feeling there's still some more.

I'll be sure to keep updating when I find more.

Infact, I feel like inspecting the demo and seeing if anything's there.

Another edit: I'm finding chuck loads of things in the demo, i'll be posting info soon.

I'll help you out as soon as I can with this stuff as soon as possible (when I get my tools back in September.) Maybe there is more stuff in the PS Underground demo I got too!

This is only scratching the surface...

This is Grindelwald's older version...I actually like this one more.

Bump with something......rather interesting.

Looking through the demo, I see these cars in a hex editor.

JLOC DIABLO GTR '99
DIABLO DL '98
JLOC DIABLO GT-1 '99
TEAM FCJ Ferrari No. 28 '97
TFCJ Ferrari F355GT '98
SOK Mclaren GTR '99
STP TAISAN PORSCHE GT2 '97
TAISAN PORSCHE RSR '99
Pagani Zonda C12
Pagani Zonda C12-S
Lotus ELISE Trofeo
Ford GT40 Le Mans

If these really were going to be in GT2...wow.

I thought that was Grand Valley Speedway or something?

Yeah Mr. CoolFiat is correct, its at Grand Valley Speedway, not HSR.

I'll have to check that one out for myself... EDIT: You're right, I guess I wasn't paying attention last time I did it. My bad.

If only. Maybe that's the hidden Macca F1 that you supposedly got if you bought all the Special Cars. As for Porsche, Pagani, Lambo and Ferrari... yeah, that would have been pretty cool.

So they are just names? No models or livery??

While I continue finding the cars I mentioned earlier, here's a peek at a pretty cool track that got axed in the final game. (And nope, it's not Red Rock Valley at night, it's a completely different track.)

You'll see more of this track when I finish making a video on the other cut tracks from the demo.

On another note, I actually found the correct drag racing mode label colors.

If you ever needed help, we at the GTPlanet.net community would be more than glad to help you in your quest to the land of Avalon!

I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but I just discovered that you can actually buy the Shelby GT500KR from the Shelby dealership in the Japanese version of GT2.

I can confirm that.

How odd...I wonder why it was removed from the other versions?

Well, Test CB is actually Corner Braking test's map. (yes, that test with Legacy)
Other things are pretty interesting...

Looks like Super Speedway to me. Perhaps this was a night version, or maybe some NASCAR track. Or perhaps it was some test track, perhaps Test Course Mini? By the way the thread rocks. Can't believe people are still hacking, modding and exploring this game after so many years. Hidden license tests, missing tracks, Laguna Seca Reverse, the endless search for Plam Strip. Must get my hands on that GT2.vol file and check out what's going on. And by the way, does anyone know about the "default" hidden track? It's visible as a black line in the sky at the last corner of Deep Forest.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cU4_mosu7eQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player And look what I just found! It shows what's believed to be Eiger Loop (it isn't), what this person says is Plam Strip (or not-it's really the so called "nothing" or "missing slalom" track) and reverse versions of Laguna Seca, Super Speedway and Test Curse. This proves more. Except for Eiger Loop and Plam Strip.

Unfortunately I won't ever know what it was going to really be, as it's simply named DEMO_xxx (Any number can go there).

It might've well been a test track, but it's a pretty nice one at that. It could've been used.

Xenn, oh great lord of all hidden knowledge! What do you have in store?

Nothing to report as of yet, i'm afraid. But i'm still searching in the demo for anything I find.

Edit: That video you posted, Naveek, was posted by me. And I know one of them is Plam Strip, cause one of the track names is L_plam. So it's definitely that I believe.

No job is too big for you Xenn, you and your hack will hack through hack-able hack prone material. Hack.

I personally still believe that Eigen Loop is a very, very early development of GT5P/GT5's Eiger Nordwand. Or perhaps even a scrapped version of Grindelwald. That track in the video (and this video) is just another canned track didn't make it into the final version.

Tell you what though, Xenn is fantastic at uncovering all these mysteries. We should nominate him as 'Chief Uncover-er of Mysterious GT2 Things' if such an accolade exists.

Someone needs to make Xenn a Moderator of GT2 Hacking-ness!! Keep on going, we will help if need be.

Hey, the first song, that's a remix of 'Grip Millennium' from Ridge Racer V isn't it? Awesome video though, like I've said before it's amazing I've been a big GT2 fan for 10 years or so now and I've still NEVER seen any of this before. How awesome does Rome look at dusk!?

Oh and also, what's up with your engine sounds? A lot of your cars sound like little 4 cylinders, IIRC the Pennzoil JGTC Skyline had a distinctive RB26 sound (Even though it shouldn't have I don't think, didn't those cars have V8s for the JGTC?). I noticed the turbo sound of the Fiat Coupe was different also. Did you do this yourself, or are these demo sounds, or something?

The song is actually "Grip" from Ridge Racer Revolution :)

Indeed, Rome looks awesome at dusk, i'm surprised they didn't keep it.

In the demo, a lot of the cars use the same engine sound. It sounds a little odd on some of them, especially the Vector M12.

Oh jesus....
The Pennzoil JGTC Skyline was a special reinforced Inline 6 (very similar to the RB26) and didn't get a V8 until the rules were changed in 2003-2005ish and they allowed bigger engines.
The turbo sound of the Fiat Coupe, I ought to believe is the Inline 5 Turbo sound.... I know, it's really weird.... :)
