Well, they were edited so it looks better obviously. But still an interesting piece.I Found this thing on the japanese gran turismo 2 site.
What I Found?
I saw that the graphics would be better according to the image. But who knows? I think this was supposed to be a beta that never released ...
Oh. I Just Got Trolled By Polyphony Digital...Yeah, they're just edited images of actual car gameplay, there were no beta discs that had better graphics than the final game.
Laguna Seca with a dusk skybox. Looks nice. Reminds me of GT3 a little bit.
To me, a lot.Reminds me of GT3 a little bit.
Hi guys, i announce to abandon the modding in GT2. Because, i'm not more interested.
Greetings.
If I'll find time,I can make export/import tools to,well, import custom 3d objects into the game (new cars) but this will take time, and I'm not that sure about custom car textures.
I think one of the reasons people are quitting GT/GT2 modding is the lack of tools to make tasks like texture editing and car parameter editing easier. I mean, the current methods are functional, but some are time-consuming and a big no for the average mod user (people who are used to installing out-of-the-box mods and using friendly tools for editing). There are some things we gotta find out how they work, like menus and etc.
Speaking of GT menus, I suppose we should find out how to extract the files inside the .dat containers and how they're set up in terms of where each option will take you, where the cursor will be placed, etc. I once tried to just copy-paste the files from the demo but that obviously just froze the game.
To be honest, I'm more interested in the menus seen in the User Manual and the ones found as leftovers in early NTSC copies... the event line-up screens looked delicious
It`s the `97 Z/28 model, and aye you most likely are right the SS must of took it`s place.-The Mustang's engine sound is a placeholder, I think every car on the demo has a placeholder sound.
-Yes, the Escort has been mentioned several times before. Unfortunately, its model isn't finished and is the usual Altezza placeholder as somebody found that out in the past.
-The Camaros I'm not sure about? I know there is an SS and a Z/28 so I'm guessing there was an extra Z/28 which became the SS? Or is it the older Z/28, because there's the '69 Z/28 and the '97 Z/28 both in GT2.
I think the Zexel Skyline is on Midfield.
As for the article, I didn't try replays on Pikes Peak yet. The 3rd build demo might have the angle on it.
I think all the images on that article use replay cameras.
For instance, you the big "GRAN TURISMO 2" on the bottom left corner, that's almost a dead giveaway it's a replay angle.
BTW, what track is that Autobacs Zexel Skyline on? It looks pretty interesting...
That might be just after the chicane that's before the tunnel hairpin.Oh yeah. The picture near the top left corner is actually the straightaway before the turn which leads to the first tunnel, but the picture near the bottom right had me wondering a bit.
